Who would think that there is decent BBQ this far north that is affordable and tasty. Flavorful and tender brisket. And the best baked potato casserole. Plus free soft serve ice cream for the kiddies. Just because Dickie’s is in a stretch mall don’t pass it by.

Food was good, not great, but good enough to come back. Prices a bit on the high side, but still OK. The deal breaker was the flies! They must import them. No place else has them and I must tell you it is a turn-off because employees dont seem to notice or care, which means that much of the food here has been visited by a fly before coming to you. OK, first time, maybe a fluke, but second visit(and last) same thing. The second time we visited, the owner was sitting there and also didnt seem to care. He was busy with some associates so we couldnt address the issue with him.

Absolutely AWESOME catering! Catered my grandfathers 90th birthday! Food was delicious! Service was even better. They showed up early to set up, served the food and cleaned up afterwards! Very accommodating with menu choices and changes! Best part is the leftover that will be lunch tomorrow! Thanks to Tony and the team at Dickeys!

If you’re jonesing for barbecue and you don’t want to spend a lot of money, Dickey’s satisfies. The brisket and pulled pork are my usual choices. The atmosphere is kind of noisy and hectic, so I usually get mine to go. A friend thinks the french fries are very good, but for me they’re just okay, as are the rest of the sides. You won’t fall in love with the place, but you’ll probably be back for seconds.

Well, Tex’s on 309 is gone so this place will do. Not bad. Best is the free vanilla soft serve.

How many reviews start this way? «I wanted to like this place …» First time visit this past weekend, for lunch. Positives: * Kids liked it … even before they knew about the free, soft-serve ice cream; * Service. The people behind the counter, preparing the food and working the register were nice, efficient, and working; * Informational interface. There’s a lot going on, but there is ample access to menus; and, * Coca Cola products from a self-serve fountain. Concerns: * Food was bland. The meat was not bad, but was disappointingly bland. The three bbq sauces were also bland … and runny. Sides were okay. This works for the kids, but I was hoping for something more akin to a BBQ joint. Not a bad place to go if you’re shopping nearby and are Jonesing for an alternative to fast food — and at this location, there aren’t many fast food options nearby. But, it also is not a place to go, if you’re looking for a BBQ joint. My comparative reference, most recently, was living and working in KC and St Louis. Maybe I haven’t yet acculturated to the eastern PABBQ scene.

A fast food type restaurant, with a few tables. They have various types of BBQ’d meats to choose from and a variety of sides. Sides are very basic and none stand out as amazing. The BBQ sauce is not bad, but not the best I’ve had. It is more liquid than saucy. It is a bit pricier than most fast food places. If you have had really good Southern BBQ, you will not find it here, but worth checking out if you want something quick that isn’t a burger.

This is fast food BBQ. It is overpriced. Near flavorless. Sides are all from a can. Anyone who has had good BBQ(southerners :)) can skip this place.

Well the first thing that got us was the flies right where you order. When my girlfriend was asked what they could get for her she said«a fly swatter». Well the lady as nice as she seemed to be. Didn’t care about the fact a fly farm was buzzing around her. Anyway we both ordered the Rib plate. Where you got three ribs two sides and a roll. We both got the BBQ beans as a side and it tasted like it was burnt. I got the Mac n cheese which was not Bad my girlfriend got the coleslaw which was KFC like. The ribs were okay, sort of tasty. Not too much fall of the bone as advertised but I would say sort of fall off the bone. The taste was not entirely bad but seemed like it sat for a while. There was only two sizes for drinks. Large and kid size. No medium. That was weird. So we got the large. Total about $ 31 for the both of us. I think a bit much but I suppose the norm for something like that. I would go back but not for the ribs. Perhaps the BBQ sandwich. The Dickey’s BBQ in concord nc was great. So I was looking forward to the same. From the atmosphere to the insect life, I was, not at all, impressed.
