THISIS A COMPLETESCAM. The advertise on Groupon for air duct cleaning they use company names such as; American Clean Air, Air Duct Pros Inc., Air Duct Experts) even their websites and are fictitiously made and claim locations in McAllen, Edinburg and Weslaco that do not physical exist. Upon purchasing a service from them for air duct cleaning via Groupon they arrive to and in your home acting like their cleaning the ducts with a negative pressure fan that is truck mounted. While this cleaning is going on another technician is fidgeting with your air ducts in the attic space only to come down and alert the home owner of toxic and dangerous mold(and the SCAM begin). Coincidentally, they claim to have a solution to treat the mold and restore your system(ha-ha; FYI– all AC vents have a certain level of mold and dust). The claim that is used is they can apply some chemicals and install a UV light to treat the mold. After that initial application of the chemical and UV light they claim they will return once the mold is no longer active in about 2 weeks and sweep out the ducts and clean. The problem is; the do not provide you with a written quote or invoice that list the services all this is verbal. They sell you on all these services that you believe will be included in your statement receipt that your waiting to be emailed to you to the tune of($ 400 – 900). Only after you were suckered to make such a purchase that you realize the receipt is only good for a UV light and some chemicals. No where in the receipt is it listed for labor and follow up, clean-up or debris removal. Yet when you call back to set up the appointments for clean-up they give you a run around about how corporate will be calling and that when I realized I was scammed. After reviewing the receipt; is again realized that I had not much of an argument as the receipt listed no such process or services ordered. The company websites again are cheaply made and very unprofessional and no legitimate pictures or genuine review from real customers are posted. The listing and accreditations they claim to belong to are not real accreditation agencies. These crooks easily fall into their own lies when questioned about the chemicals and when the follow up will be scheduled. This organized SCAM has been reported to the Texas Licensing and Registration, Secretary of State of Texas and additionally, I have forwarded all pertinent information(names, pictures etc.) to the District Attorney’s office. The process is time consuming and I know these crooks will be caught soon anywhere they move within the state of Texas! STAYAWAY!!! STAYAWAY!!! STAYAWAY!!!
