Great value, delicious food, friendly service, clean tables, casual dining at its best! Went back and sorry to say that the 2nd time was a bomb. Food was cold and just lacking in flavor. It was very disappointing to say the least. The battered fried shrimp wasn’t fried properly, raw batter.

Hibachi is pretty good, and the lunch special is a great choice. My boyfriend and I go for the lunch special often and get a huge amount of food for a pretty decent price.(I always take some home.) I get the chicken and rice with no vegetables– extra rice. My boyfriend gets the same. The younger employees are somewhat rude, but service is good. The restaurant is usually pretty clean, with an occasional straw wrapper here and there. I also like that you can order online.

Cant say nothing negative about this place at all. Huge portions! Food taste great and reasonable priced, definitely would comeback.

Good food, great value. But not fast. The name express should not be in their name. The prices are not beatable with the good quality ingredients, but could use some work. The restaurant tries to display themselves as a traditional restaurant but they need to stop acting like it and make it like a fast take out place!

With a name like Hibachi Express, I was pleasantly surprised that they serve sushi and have a descent sized sushi menu. We came in a little after 6pm on a Saturday night as we wanted a quick or «express» bite before the tree lighting and there was a good size crowd. Most people seemed to be waiting for the hibachi but we ordered a few sushi rolls. But with only one chef working that night, we waited a good 30 minutes before finally getting our rolls. The sushi was pretty good(think Publix before Publix got all fancy and started charging $ 9/roll, but that’s a different story). Its a good size restaurant and they have 2 large size TVs on either side of restaurant so it was good to catch part of the game as well. I’ll be back to try their hibachi next but definitely a better choice than any other fast food places in the area.

The food here is pretty solid and decently priced if you are looking for a fast version of Kobe Steak House or similar. But, you get what you pay for in terms of service. I have never had a friendly counter clerk and the tables and counters are perpetually undercleaned and the condiments/plasticware are understocked. This is true whether the place is busy or nearly empty. The employees just don’t seem to give a damn and I question the management’s presence and/or resolve. So, if you want hibachi and you are doing takeout, then Hibachi Express is a decent option. If you want smiles, friendly service, and clean tables, then you can do much better elsewhere.

So I’ve been here a couple of times. It’s way up in BFE Wesley Chapel. 28 miles from my house. It’s located in a strip mall. It’s nothing that would stand out and appearance wise nothing you’d drive 28 miles to eat. But I did. It was good. I love Japanese Hibachi. I prefer when they do it at my table and fling the knives around. This is not that kind of place. This is a hibachi«express». So you order the food at the counter and they call you when it’s done. There’s no table service. But the plates are awesome! They have a regular, and a large, and the large plate is just delightful. But bring an empty stomach. It’s a lot of food.

Worst hibachi ever! Rice is SO gooey with no flavor at all. You literally have to eat the food with YUMMYSAUCE or the taste would be horrendous. The employees are friendly however I was on a quick lunch break and decided to go there which ended up to be the wrong decision

The food is pretty amazing for the price, which is very reasonable. Their shrimp hibachi is great. Haven’t tried their sushi yet, but according to reviews it’s delicious as well. I’ll definitely be frequenting this place from now on.

Amazing sushi made fresh. The green dragon and eel roll with cucumber roll was wonderful. I am a huge fan of eel and it was prepared elequently with care. Sure it took longer than those ordering hibachi but that is what I expect from true sushi artists. Wish I lived closer. I will be back anytime I am in the area.

Love the food. Love the sushi. Great alternative to other fast food and the prices are great compared to other hibachi restaurants where you get the same food for twice the price. This place is reasonable for delicious food. I’m a regular.

I routinely travel i-75 to visit my wife’s parents with my wife and kids and this place is a perfect half way spot when we need to stop to eat. It’s not cheap(my family of 4 usually will spend $ 40-$ 50), but for a quick service establishment that pleases all of the discerning tastes in my crew it is a great option. And way better than any of the fast food burger joints or casual dining garbage up and down the i-75 corridor. I wish I had one of these close to my office!

My family and I eat here about two times a week. Definitely scratches the itch. If you like fried rolls I highly suggest the Volcano and Godzilla rolls are my favorite! Hibachi chicken is pretty fantastic. You really can’t go wrong.

Good food, reasonable prices, good selection. It’s the take out that out kids often request and I’d much rather feed then this than cheese pizza! Tried the spicy tuna roll yesterday and out was really good too. We usually get the hibachi meals though and they are good

Good cheap hibachi take out. Sushi is not good though. Alternative to the boring Chinese take out

Hibachi Express is literally how Chinese take-out restaurants work except for hibachi style food. While their prices and quantity of food are a steal, their quality is pretty cheap. You select a protein(chicken, steak, scallops, etc) and the meals come with a salad, mixed veggies, and fried rice. I ordered the steak and the meat was bland and much too chewy. The salad lettuce was okay but the dressing tasted like very diluted yum yum sauce(white sauce) mixed with watery ginger sauce. The mixed veggies and fried rice were probably the best cooked food in my to-go container. The yum yum sauce is also too watery and lacks bold and strong flavors. I would stick to Chinese take-out because at least it has flavor. This place is really just good for convenience and quantity of food, certainly not quality. Staff was friendly though!

Lots of rice and very little protein. Flavor is just ok. Nothing special to brag about.

Decent for express. Got the chicken, steak, & shrimp Hibachi combo. Comes with miso soup or salad & a massive portion big enough for two people. Will be back to tame my craving for quick Japanese food.

We finally got a chance to try this place. We called in our order of combination hibachi w shrimp beef and chicken w pork steamed gyoza. It also came w fried rice, veggies, & salad. This food didn’t stand out to either of us. It had teriyaki sauce on it and included yum yum sauce mayo based and another sauce foe the gyoza dumplings but it still was pretty bland. If hibachi I think if grilled but it seemed like the food was more boiled in doused teriyaki sauce. Totally nothing to write home about. Can not say I will be back.

I definitely recommend the Snow Mountain roll. It was super tasty. The Hawaii was pretty good, but I like the way they do it over at Hot Tuna better. As for the Sweet Potato roll, I’m still not sure. I mean, it was a good portion, but the sweet potato was a lot less cooked than I’m used to. It was crispy like a carrot. Not necessarily bad — just different than what I had expected. But I did have a couple minor gripes… First, even when dining in the restaurant, everything is served in «to go» containers. If you’re getting something with big portions and you’re likely to take leftovers home, perhaps it’s handy… but seems like a waste when it’s used for the sushi rolls. It’s also hard to appreciate the presentation of the sushi, when the toppings are all squashed under a plastic lid. Second, it seemed like some of the customers, ones who don’t routinely eat sushi it seemed, were unsure of the menu items. I overheard one of the customers asking what’s in an avocado roll and was told«avocado»… By actually listing the ingredients of each roll — instead of just the specialty rolls — I think it would help give the customers a bit more confidence in ordering what they want. It might also help speed up the ordering process a bit, since people don’t have to spend time wondering what’s in each roll and/or asking questions about each one. Lastly, and this was a super small gripe, even though employees seemed to be constantly walking by, no one offered to take the empty containers away from the table. I know they aren’t a traditional sit-down restaurant, but it’s worth the extra effort.
