I’ve felt compelled to post an update with an additional star, if for no other reason than their now revised consignment rules as posted on their site. Their staff seems to be a little friendlier these days with different faces. It’s still WAY overpriced but inching towards being better…

I’ve found some nice pieces here but you have to survive the rudeness of the old lady that works there. Shes not just rude — she’s condescending. I spent $ 500 on furniture moved it out to our truck by ourselves and we left the furniture dollies at a threshold from the inside of the store where we picked it up to put it in our truck. You would of thought we booby trapped her store with mines. Freak out! LOL

It used to be much better. The goods are not as high quality as they used to be and the prices are much higher. More«junque» and less antiques but they have more of a mix than other consignment places. That being said, sometimes you can find some good things.

New owner, new good stuff… have been in there several times since the changing of the guard and favorably impressed. More furniture, less knick-knacks. Some very stylish moderne and contemporary pieces that will go into the lucky purchasers place in the blink of an eye.

Always good stuff to find here and at great prices. My last score was a Burberry bag for $ 11, which my roommate confirmed was a real one, and not a knockoff. BIGSCORE!

If I’d written this review when I first started shopping at Tables to teapots(in their previous location) I’d have given it 4 or 5 stars, but since moving to the new location it’s been a slow steady decline. I haven’t had any problem with sales people as some reviewers have so I’m going on the selection, quality and price of items for sale. It’s not in my neighborhood, but my husband and I like to include it in a Sunday drive a couple of times a year so maybe I’ve been hitting it on off weeks but I haven’t purchased anything in my last 4 visits so I doubt if I’ll return again. The past few times I’ve been, the furniture was mostly bad overstuffed eighties leather or pastel upholstered colonial granny furniture. They had 2 teak«bookshelves» for sale @ 75 dollars each but both were upper shelf units removed from credenzas and not suitable as free standing bookshelves unless you wanted to add some legs or a toe kick. Lots of really bad pottery and glass, tacky artwork and seriously dated dining sets rounded out the selection. Without a new set of buyers to bring up the quality and styles of items they’ll be out of business in no time.

Have bought a lot of stuff from this place over the years. So has my sister and brother. NOMORE! I bought a clock there and it didn’t work. I brought it back immediately and clerk(I assume she was the owner) told me I should have tried it before I bought it(it needed batteries). I told her she should have tried it before SHE bought it and then tried to sell it(or did she?) and she sold it anyway? I visit the neighboring town frequently. Well, she lost three good customer over a $ 10 clock. See ya!

Agree with another reviewer. One salesperson borders on being consistently rude and unhelpful. Not sure why she is in retail if she does not like working with customers. Inventory varies… mostly lower end goods.

The key to shopping at a consignment shop is to pop in on a regular basis… you never know what you will find. Knowing the kind of income that resides in Acton and the surrounding area, we had great hope for Tables to Teapots. Unfortunately, we saw lots of stuff that was not much better than what one finds at a typical thrift shop. I spied a beautiful English platter at a great price, but I have enough platters and bowls that I resisted. My husband found a chair out of an Austin Powers movie… interesting form but worn and dirty upholstery. Might pop in again if our travels take us to the area… who know what we might find!

A fun place to poke around in if you have a few minutes to kill. I used to find some great buys in their old location, but I agree with the other reviewer, not so much anymore. I’ve never sold anything here, so I can’t comment on that.

A well-known local institution/destination… large and usually lots of merchandise. New management bringing positive changes… Go often as offerings change daily; you’ll find something nice at a good price. Good place to sell your«stuff» and get a little extra $$$…

It’s a good place to pop in if you are nearby. I’ve seen some pretty nifty deals, once in awhile. We sold some stuff here, as well. That was a little weird. If things don’t sell, you have the option of donating them to charity. It’s a wee strange, because they don’t really inform you of what’s up, and you take it on faith that the item did not, in fact, sell. You have to call several times to find out what’s going on, too.
