We boarded our dog at Bayview Kennels for a week in July. The dog we dropped off was a healthy, spry 9 year old Belgian Malanois. The dog we picked up was lethargic, dehydrated, and clearly ill. The Kennel’s owner reported my dog«did OK». When I asked he told me the dog was drinking and peeing fine, but had a 2 day run of not wanting to eat much, so they fed him some chicken and rice. 15 minutes after picking my dog up, I took him on a walk, and he had diarrhea(which obviously did not just develop at that time). I ended up bringing him to the Vet and he was hospitalized for the next 2 days with severe dehydration(close to the point of kidney failure), and a SEVENPOUNDWEIGHTLOSSIN1WEEK! The Kennel had not only our number, but also 2 local emergency contact numbers. No one was contacted at any point during the week to let us know our dog was not doing well. So… mid-summer heat, dog that’s not eating, has diahrrea, and obviously was not drinking(despite what the owner said– he probably wasn’t even paying attention), and what exactly needs to happen before someone is contacted!!! The Kennel was clearly neglecting our dog’s needs. We are not high maintenance people, but this showed EXTREME neglect!!! And he referred to himself as a «dog expert». Please… Be kind to your dog and board them elsewhere!!!

We have used Bayview Kennels many times for our Corgi. He has stayed there for up to a month when business required us to be out of town. John and his family treat Ron like one of their own dogs and he loves to go there.
