Let me start out by saying I HATE the dentist. I was a long time procrastinator before making my 1^st appointment with Oakbrook several years ago. Dr. Simonsen and his staff were very welcoming and made me feel at ease right away. They didn’t judge me and took things slow. The Dr explained everything before he did it and now I’m a regular patient with far less anxiety. Their prices are reasonable and they work with most insurance companies. Even when I had difficulty getting a crown to feel comfortable they remained patient and took the time to get it right for me. In cases where I had a toothache the Dr and his staff did an awesome job shuffling his schedule to get me in right away. Please do not judge this provider based on one negative review. Give them a chance and you will soon feel like family.

DO NOT GO HERE!!! I went in for a crown and the dental hygentist dropped the temporary crown down my throat and then tried to blame me. (I understand that accidents happen but they clearly were in error here & so I was a good sport-​in the beginning). I then had to drive myself to the local ER and after waiting for an hour, have X-​rays taken. I had to then go back to Oakbrook Dental and wait another hour to have the temporary crown put on. Two days later the temporary crown fell off. Less than a week later the temporary crown fell off again. When I called, the receptionist (and incidentally the dentist’s wife, Jean Simonsen) was rude and began arguing with me about my taking responsibility for the incident and about a bill from 2006 which was paid after 30 days! Seriously?! She continued to argue and talk over me. A very unprofessional and unpleasant woman. I had to go in to have the permanent crown put on and she continued to behave extremely rudely. I will never return and would highly recommend NOT patronizing this unprofessional office.
UPDATE: I am currently being billed for the x-​rays and office visit that Oakbrook Dental assured me would be paid for by them!

Dentist was yelling & hollering, he told the hygienist don’t waste her time cleaning a patients teeth. I was appalled and embarrassed to witness this behavior by a so called professional. The waiting room was full & he was yelling in front of a woman with two kids! I will never go back to this dentist; he shouldn’t be in this profession if he has no people skills or bedside manner.
