Natalie was an incredible person to have by our side during labor for our first child. Her calm demeanor was extremely soothing, but she was also assertive when she needed to be to coax me into trying out different comfort measures. My husband was so grateful to have her there and felt her expertise really made the birth more smooth for both of us. She sat by me in the tub for hours and hours, patiently talking me through each contraction. She was also really helpful both before and after the labor. She helped us think through how to handle family members, whether we wanted photos taken, which things to bring with us to the hospital, etc… A couple weeks after birth, she came to visit and had great suggestions for handling some of the difficulties we were experiencing. Mostly, she’s a sweet, wonderful person and has just the presence you’d want to help you through the intense, trying time that labor is. Can’t recommend her highly enough!

Natalie was my doula in December 2014 for the birth of my first child at Alta Bates. She was such a calm and caring presence in the room and I will always be grateful to her for encouraging me and helping me achieve an all natural birth, despite the posterior presentation of my baby, which made the last stage of my labor extremely difficult and painful. She was very sweet to me and my family from the first time I met her through the postpartum visit. She was very respectful of my birth plan and desire to have my husband be my primary coach during my labor. She seemed to know just what to do to ease my pain and support me without being at the forefront. She really listened to what I told her would help me during my labor and followed through — she even went above and beyond by making me a sign that she hung in my hospital room that helped me focus on my goal and baked me delicious lactation cookies. I would highly recommend Natalie to anyone searching for a truly caring and centered doula.
