I purchased one of the OPI gel manicures from Groupon — you get the gel manicure and scrub with paraffin for $ 19, a regularly $ 45 service. I scheduled the appointment online with Kristen, but when I got there she was running behind so they had what appeared to be the receptionist do the manicure. I’ve had a gel manicure before, so I knew what to expect. It seemed like the coats of color barely covered my nails, I could almost see through it. And like I thought, it barely lasted 1 week. Previous gel manicures lasted 2.5 weeks and probably would’ve last longer, except I started picking at the edges. I would’ve been really upset if I paid $ 45 for the gel manicure service for it to barely last a little over a week, at least $ 20 +tip was a little easier to swallow. I did receive a coupon to come back for another service and receive 25% off, but I don’t think I’ll be using it. They are consistently on groupon, the filtered reviews on here are less than stellar, and the salon seriously lacked professionalism — from the stylists attire, to the interior paint job and lack of lighting to hide it, and let’s not forget the stylist smoking out on the front stoop. Classy… Nothing worse then having a stylist reeking of cigaratte smoke.

The staff was really friendly. I got a cut and color. My hair turned out great. They made my hair look super healthy.

After reading the negative review on here, I cannot believe that anyone would rather go to a CHAIN salon and think they were going to get such a personalized service that you will get at Salon Limelight! I have been going to Ivy for several years now and never once have I ever thought of her as being dramatic or negative in any way. She uses the best products and gives the best service I have ever gotten at any salon and I have been to quite a few trying to find the right «fit». I ALWAYS get compliments on my hair. Ivy is honest and has an undying passion for this business. She is ALWAYS on time and sometimes I don’t even want to leave. The atmosphere here is very relaxing and welcoming. This is also a salon for all ages and hair types. I sent my 80 year old grandmother here and she loves it! I have never been disappointed here. This place offers exactly what you would want in a hair salon. What you pay for! In exchange, I walk out with confidence and awesome hair! Thanks Ivy for all you do!
