Got an awful haircut previous to going here. Needed help fixing my hair and going with a new style. Had an appointment with Carmen. She was friendly and very talented. Now I have exactly the style I wanted. Would recommend this salon to everyone… Especially my stylist Carmen. Looking forward to going back and having finally found someone who really knows what she’s doing!

I had a hair cut here a few weeks ago, and I can’t complain. Nothing special though, I may try another hair specialist next time, or maybe just go to another place. I did have a Bikini Wax done here before by Mila, but I definitely won’t be coming back for that anytime soon. As a hair place Aqua is Ok, but for waxings STAYAWAY!

I am also reviewing the West Bloomfield location. Does a Farmington Hills location even exist? Me thinks not. This place is very white, very sterile looking — not very warm and welcoming. That being said, the staff make it fairly welcoming. I went in for a mani pedi with Gina. Our first moment were a bit awkward, but it was fairly smooth after the first five minutes. Gina talks to you like you are her friend, telling stories and the like. Warning: if you don’t like talkers, stay clear of Gina. I can go either way, so Gina worked for me. And she is very thorough. This woman knows what she is doing. I came out with a wonderful mani pedi I can be proud to show off. Side note: I watched one customer blow drying her own hair, which I thought was very odd. She also had a little oral tiff with her stylist. This all would never happen at my salon.

This review is actually for the West Bloomfield Aqua salon located at Maple and Orchard Lake… not the Farm Hills salon. I was a bit nervous when I walked into the extremely busy salon with clients bustling around and stylists clearly juggling more than one client at a time but… I ended up loving it! With little to no direction, Margaret gave me an incredible new cut and I left the salon feeling like a diva! She was friendly, creative in styling and had the cutest accent ever. She’s awesome and I highly recommend her!

When I moved to Michigan, I had to start from scratch. Finding a place where I can get a decent hair cut was top on the priority list. In fact, I had a deadline; my hair was growing without my approval. Through word of mouth I found Aqua Salon. I get my hair cut from Photi — the owner. He’s a real down to earth guy with a very cool sense of style. There are very few people that do what they do and have passion for it. The guy sees hair very differently from any one I’ve ever met. The staff is very friendly and the overall attitude is fun. The cost of a haircut is around $ 30. Worth every penny. I get a really great hair cut. I can’t sell the place enough, so I will end on this note. Watch a show on MTV called Beauty and the Geek. After his haircut, I was transformed into a beauty. Ok it wasn’t that dramatic, but now people have to talk to me before they realize I am a geek. Bonus points to Photi. PS I drive 40 minutes for the haircut. Some people drive in from Chicago(over 4 hours away).
