Looking for a place in the Farmington Hills/West Bloomfield area to snuggle up with a Kindle or get some work done on your laptop? This Caribou Coffee is my site of choice for those afternoons or evenings when I want to hammer out 2,500 words in my latest manuscript without distraction or get another 15 Unilocal!reviews written to make up for a lack over the last month. Positioned near the ridiculously busy 14 Mile and Orchard Lake intersection, the Caribou sits in the middle of a shopping mall anchored by Petsmart and Whole Foods. Make your trip guilt free by stopping in to purchase Fido and Rex some treats or indulging yourself in fresh fruit. Then indulge yourself in a Northern Lite latte, and get to relaxing. This Caribou never seems to be packed to the gills busy, which I definitely appreciate. Royal Oak’s downtown Caribou is next to impossible to squeeze into during peak hours. West Bloomfield does not suffer from the squished parking situation either thanks to the expansive mall lot stretching all the way to Kohl’s. The interior layout is good for having some of the tables in the sun and some lurking in a dark, wood-panelled corner, for those of us prone to hissing at the dreaded day star and resenting that its light shines on my monitor while I clack away at my keyboard. Staff are consistently awesome, applauding the witticisms for their daily quiz to get $.10 off and clearly fond of the regulars. They have not once messed up an order, not that mine are particularly difficult, and they are joyously absent of the eye-rolling or holier-than-thou looks some other coffee shops give if you ask for modifications, like sugar-free syrups, fat-free milk or other diet-conscious choices. Caribou’s got a really welcoming vibe — as witnessed from their giant chalkboard that welcomes people to answer a question, like«Where would you travel with the Doctor(Who)?» to the funny slogans scrawled on their cups and napkins, as another Unilocaler noted. Caribou’s tea selection never, ever tastes right to me. I’ve tried them all on multiple occasions in multiple locations. I don’t even bother anymore. There are a lot of other good options, though; I have a great fondness for their apple cider.

Like this place service is always friendly. Many come here for the WiFi so can be crowded some times to get a table. Other then that love Caribou Coffee is nice and fresh like it is supposed to be will definitely recommend

The service at this Caribou is great. The staff is kind, and many of them remember my name and order. Impressive considering that this is a busy location. My only complaint with this place: it gets pretty loud and the seating is often limited if you go in the evening, as people will park it and study here for hours.

What can I say, we just love Caribou. One of their little napkins had the following on it: «Our coffee is smooth and fresh, ’cause burnt and bitter were already taken.» Very cute, guys, but also very true.

I’m not a coffee drinker but I do love the hot chocolate. When I entered Caribou it was on a whim because I was right next door at a shoe store. So I’m looking over the menu and I come across the hot chocolate, which can at times be boring. To my total amazement they had a hot chocolate titled«white chocolate». Sounds good, I’ll try it. Scrum-deli-upmtious!(This word is a take on scrumptious and delicious.) It was great and they have a customer for life. This coffee shop seems to be a little less pretentious than the other big name coffee house in the area. Many people where on their laptops inside. I decided to sit in the outdoor seating section. All while taking in some sun and enjoying my white chocolate.
