My gf n I love this place. We have eaten here a few times now. Love the soups, rolls, chicken like gen. S and swt&sour. ** We snapchat the art inside while waiting for our food. The vibe from the music makes for a great snap^^

I absolutely love this restaurant, the lunch specials come with plenty of great tasting food, and the service is always very friendly and kind. My favorite meal is the sesame chicken, it’s always cooked just right and the sauce is great. Also highly recommend the crab Rangoon, and egg drop soup. Definitely going to keep coming in to this restaurant and my favorite place for Chinese in the West Bloomfield area.

This place is constant the food is always decent and the service good. Although the menu is standard American Chinese you can order off menu for more authentic fare. I like it since it is one of the few places around I know where you can get jellyfish.

Korean style Chinese food. I have been going to this restaurant with my parents since it opened. When I was a kid, I could not understand why my parents love this place so much. It was only after I spent a year in Korea, that I learned what a gem this place is. Although this is a Chinese restaurant, I would often see the owner conversing with my parents in Korean. I could never get the story straight either the owner is a Korean group in China, or vice versa. Either way, this restaurant has two Korean style Chinese dishes that are simply awesome. The first is the jajang myun. As a kid, I could never get over the color of this dish. Later in life I discovered how much I was missing out. The dish consists of linguine type noodles smothered in a black bean paste gravy that includes carrots, cucumbers and a sort of meats. If you can get over the look of the dish, you are in for a treat. I have made a point of trying this dish at every Korean/Chinese restaurant I have gone to in Michigan and this place serve the best. The other dish, is the jjambong. The extra J is intentional. This is a spicy seafood noodle dish and it is exquisite. For those of you who are into American style Chinese, I am also a big fan of the sweet and sour beef, chicken chow mein, and almond boneless chicken. I particularly recommend the beef because the breading is light and the sauce is awesome. Also, I will note that the breading on the almond boneless chicken somehow manages to stay on the breast even after it has been slathered in that delicious sauce. If you are ever in the West Bloomfield/Farmington area and are feeling adventurous, I wouldn’t give the aforementioned dishes a try.

Tried China King for the first time. Owner was very rude when I complained that my chicken dish was tuff as jerkey and refused to remake it or let me choose a different entrée. He stated that is the way it is made then in his Chinese accent YOUBUYYOUPAY, I could not help my self and busted out laughing! So I just accepted my fate and finished my lack luster fried rice. I will never be back again.

This is a very good local Chinese restaurant, we have dined in and carried out meals for many years. The same family has run the restaurant for at least 15 years, but probably much longer. Great service, friendly staff, and excellent food at a very reasonable price. The egg rolls are crispy, dumplings and crab rangoon are favorites of my family, as well as the szechuan chicken. They make dishes custom to order, even for a finicky kid.

It’ a really good restaurant. Especially their Chow Ma Mein. It’s a spicy seafood noodle soup. I’ve never had the same kind anywhere else before. Very delicious!

This place is good for one thing. If you need to lose a lot of weight in a short time, eat there. I developed a interminable bought of «Mao Tse Tung ’ s Revenge» that almost landed me in the hospital.

I absolutely LOVE this restaurant. So much so that I make it a point to come back even though I moved to St. Louis 15 years ago. The fried potstickers are amazing. As is the hot and sour soup. Oh, and the General Tso chicken is divine. Yum!

Your tongue should not be red from the sauce after eating sweet and sour chicken. I had hope in finding good Chinese in the area, when the wonton soup and egg rolls were pretty good. It was the first time that I have ever left a Chinese place and not taken the leftovers home. Blech.

After the dim sum at Shangri La, this is my other most favorite Chinese restaurant. I don’t think I ever had a disappointing meal there. Their Mongolian beef is very good. Service is prompt.

Good restaurant. On a scale of 1 to 10(best). Food = 8 Service = 8(One of the most friendliest Chinese restaurant) Ambiance = 7 Overall = 7 It’s a place to visit again. Love their«Hot & Sour» soup and their food is better than the typical take out place. So in case if you feel the food it different, it is because they make it in a better way. A place to try !

i have lived in korea town in new jersey for about 20 years and they have the best jja jang myun(It is the korean adaptation of a chinese black bean noodle dish) which is one of my fav. chinese/korean dish ~ hands down to Te Min Quan in pal park! and living in michigan for 9 years~ i couldn’t find 1 place that could make decent jja jang myun until i was introduced to china king!!! its not good as new jersey/new york but its good enough to keep my stomach happy! The interior décor had the chinese theme and looked clean. but the place was deserted and empty. so i know the service better be quick & good! the only dissapointment i had with this place. were the side dishes for jja jang myun. they didn’t have the sliced raw onions & ddak kwang(bright yellow relish) white vinegar and black bean paste dipping sauce which is supposed to come along on the side like every other korean/chinese spot. i was really upset that they didn’t carry kimchi also!!! they only carried cucumber kimchi which was not that fresh & good and the owner is a korean and has no kimchi??? c’mon son! what korean/chinese restaurant do you know doesn’t carry kimchi? even the chinese buffets carries kimchi. smh for all the korean michiganders don’t forget to pack your side dishes with you when you come here! other than that the pot stickers are good jja jang myun is okay tang soo yook(sweet & sour beef) could be better. ggang pung gi(korean deep fried chicken sweet & spicy chicken) is good. jjampong(korean spicy seafood noodle soup) was terrible the soup flavor was very bland and tasted like water. overall the price is reasonable & fair quantity of the food is good quality is good enough to keep me as a customer

This five star review is based on ordering the ethnic Chinese/Korean-Chinese dishes that are on the menu. Most of the ones we picked out are in the dine-in menu only and are on the last pages. I had picked up the take out menu(which is missing many of the Korean-Chinese options) back in February after having read I think Kristine L.‘s review which clued me in that there may be more to the menu than Chinese American standards. That and after having spotted the Spicy Honey Garlic Chicken wings on the menu which is another clue to a Korean-Chinese anchor dish. Here we are Labor Day weekend and we’re back in Farmington Hills. We decided to give it a try, after my wife sent me in advance to scope the dine-in menu. I waived everyone in after being greeted by the host/owner and having asked to see the dine-in menu(he asked if I was Korean and I answered I was Chinese). So what did we order? — Ants Climbing a Tree/ma yi shang shu(not real ants folks) — spicy! — ground pork = ants, vermicelli = branches, pork stuck to vermicelli = climbing — their seafood dumplings off the Korean-Chinese dishes section(made in house) — one of their seafood noodle soups(the non spicy one) — supposedly noodles made in house — the honey garlic spicy chicken wings — green beans(our one vegetable) Everything was as ethnic as they go, even the green beans were on target. Ants Climbing a Tree were not too saucy but the noodles were not stuck to each other either. Seafood dumplings were tasty combination of I think seafood and various vegetables inside. Skins are delicate(pickup carefully — use your fingers if you have to) — and come with a spicy dipping sauce. I think 10 came to the order and they are giant. The noodle soup was giant as well and had generous amounts of shrimp, squid, tender beef, and other vegetables. The broth is egg drop soup like… so if you prefer spicy, they have a different noodle soup to please. Still seafood was fresh, tender, and so were the noodles. The chicken wings… this place should be hopping just on the wings alone for all diners. Both the mini drums and the two bone wing sections have been frenched to push the meat down away from one end of the bone(s) to make them easier to eat.(sure Chicago’s Great Seas goes one step further by removing one of the wing bones to create lollipop wings of both parts of the wing). The wings were crisped on the outside(you hear a crunch when fresh to table), moist inside, and plenty of garlic honey spicy sauce to dip to your liking. What’s left? Well our server didn’t steer us wrong(no problem with Mandarin, or English and probably not Korean either — I didn’t try out my lame Cantonese though). She thought or guess at the green beans as our best ethnic option given that their broccoli dish did not use gai lan(Chinese broccoli). Beans were tasty, with a little pork, cooked through yet still with the snap that is expected if this dish is to be done right. There still quite a few cold dishes in that Korean-Chinese section, along with some other more unique fried rice options, and more seafood dishes. Great booths in this restaurant with a large corner booth that can fit six easy. Clientele on a Sunday night was surprisingly non-Asian(I thought at least the Korean-Chinese would be out there. The décor inside is nicer than you would expect from the outside. We had excellent service from our server, but it looks like they were staffed up to handle the large restaurant well even with a slow night. We’ll try to get back as often as we can… but it’ll fall to other locals to keep this place going and spreading the word.

Feeling particularly Unilocal,i decided to try this chines restaurant that have caught my eyes the few times i drove past on my way to Shangri-La. The restaurant is nicely decorated and clearly chinese oriented. I went there early right when they open up thus i got no indication of the crowd or the clientele of the restaurant. Our waitress was very friendly and attentive. The menu is very typical of an Americanized chinese restaurant. BLARH! Oh well we cant judge the restaurant by it’s menu can we. I ordered a kung pao chicken. Cant go wrong with the classic right. WRONG! The dish came out without chili peppers or a hint of spiciness. It was so sweet that i feel like i was eating chicken doused in sugary syrup. Seriously, i think kung pao chicken is the staple of americanized chinese and if they manage to screw that up i really dont have any expectation left for the restaurant anymore. This wouldve been a one star review if it wasn’t for the mongolian beef dish my gf ordered which tasted decent. Dont think i will be going back anytime soon when shangri-la is right across the street.

When Peking City(in Troy) shut down a few years ago, I was devastated — there was nowhere that someone who enjoyed Korean-Chinese food to go. But alas, when my boyfriend told me about China King, I jumped at the chance. Their potstickers, mapo tofu(mildly spicy tofu dish), and jajangmyun(noodle dish) are the reason why I will drive almost 40mins to eat. Plus they have a cucumber kimchi(spicy, pickled cucumber) to round out a great meal. The staff is super nice and its never too busy to get your food within 7mins of ordering. Although I haven’t tried the Chinese-Chinese food… if its anything like the Korean-Chinese, its probably delish!
