Love this place service is excellent & so is the food. I go there every year after my festival at St. Mary’s.

Mezza on orchard lake rd is the best mediterranean restaurant in Detroit area, if you are in the Detroit go try their lamb chops are the best in the city and the mezza starter with fresh baked pita straight from the oven and fresh garlic is very yummy. They have full bar and great wine selection from the whole world, and they served in beautiful glass which make more tasty enjoyable dinner.

MMMMMM… Stands for Mezza Mediterranean Makes Many Magical Meals! On a recent 48 hour visit to Michigan, my family was sitting shiva after my grandfather’s funeral when we realized that we were going to be hungry for dinner later that evening. My brother was craving Mezza, so I called and spoke to Anna, the manager. She was friendly and more than accommodating of our needs, even with a request to deliver on short notice. Within a few hours, Anna herself was at our front door, delivering our order, which included: *Mujdra *Vegetarian Grape Leaves *Hummus *Greek Salad + pita *Shwarma — both lamb and chicken *Rice *Garlic sauce, Tzadiki, Dressing All of the above was for a group of 15 people and it probably could have fed 40… It was all delicious, moderately priced, and the perfect meal to fill our bellies after a long day. Good to know that you can fill your Mezza cravings now at a handful of locations around the Detroit area, including one at the airport.(My brother and I ended up ordering lunch at that one the next day, and weren’t disappointed. Good thing no one sat next to us on the plane though, as I’m sure they would not have appreciated our garlic breath!) No matter the occasion, you can’t go wrong with treating yourself to Mezza. Enjoy!

Mezza is one of the best restaurants I’ve ever been to. I like it so much as you can find everything there and it has good prices and good service as well. I recommend everyone to go there

Yummilicious !! We got our food to go. The sliced boneless chicken was succulent & seasoned to perfection(though not spicy). The lamb shawara plate was delightful and the lentil soup was tasty too. Forego the calorie counting and eat the bread with garlic sauce warm. The bill was under forty dollars and four adults ate and there were plenty of leftovers.

Disappointing. My cousin and I had dinner here on August 5, 2015 Our server was friendly and attentive, but the food was poor. The Calamari appetizer was hot, but the Calamari was not crisp, and the sauce was not particularly flavorful. Tabbouleh and Greek salads were O.K., but undistinguished. We both ordered the«Turkish Kofta»…not good. Meat was quite dense(over-mixed) and, in general, lacked flavor. Portions were ample(three large pieces), but each of us barely finished a single piece. Kofta came with grilled onions and plain sliced potatoes thrown in the deep fryer… no seasoning, no taste. We took our leftover Kofta home so that my cousin could feed his dog, Keche. Keche would not eat a single bite… he just sniffed at the bowl, backed off, and barked. Prices were high($ 15.99 for the Kofta) and, given the quality of the food, way too much. We will not eat here again.

Dine in and get out carry out from Mezza on a regular basis. Usually everything is great but NOT today. Our carry out order was a mix of what we order and what someone else had ordered. Rice was over cooked. The lamb was dry and petrified. Salad was half rotten! The veggies for the entrees never even saw the flame. What a shame. Get your mise together Mezza!

I would give this restaurant five stars, but the décor is dated and the service can be off and on. If Gilbert is there and you get him as a waiter your meal and entire experience will be wonderful. They do excellent sandwiches for lunch, I recommend the chicken Kebob. There lamb is also remarkably good and very affordable

I measure by three different things in comparison to Taco Bell: DECOR: I love how the outside of the restaurant looks. It’s very fitting for the cuisine and I think atmosphere can be important when going to a restaurant. The inside is also very nice. It can really provide that feel good ambiance that allows you to relax and enjoy your food. For the décor 2 stars! SERVICE: The service could be better. The restaurant was completely empty yet no one was up front to seat us. Had to go look for someone to let them know we were there. I think that’s terrible. So –1 star here. FOOD: I love the food here. It tastes so fresh, which is very important whenever I go to a Mediterranean restaurant. I want something that will be healthy as well and there are plenty of options here including raw juices. I usually get their Fattoush Salad, which is delicious here. 2 stars for the food! FINALVERDICT: Is Taco Bell better? Depends. You can’t eat Taco Bell everyday, sometimes you need something healthy. When those days happen a place like this does the trick! I feel that the prices are reasonable for the quality and portion of food given, especially cause it’s «healthy» food, which tends to run up on price. Despite the bad service, this restaurant is really really good. If you’re feeling like your body is needing nourishment after late nights at Taco Bell, give this place a shot.

We live close to this restaurant and have eaten here on numerous occasions. We have never had a bad experience. Everyone is always very friendly and attentive and the food is so good. We always get the veggie Mezza for 2 and it is more than enough to feed me, my husband and our two young children. Best baba ghanoush on the planet!

I, in all honesty, do not like middle eastern food so when I was told a group was meeting here for dinner I did not expect much. I was happy though by their selection. I had fish with their charcoaled vegetables and it was very good. Prices are no sunrise for where they’re located.

Well let’s just go with dishonest. I ordered take out twice in the past two weeks. Both meals left us with happy tummys. Great rice and kebabs. With all of my out of town guests in tow, the 10 of us ventured out for our final night together. In fairness another large party arrived just before us. However our meal was just awful(and I came to find our theirs was too). Food came out slow and in spurts. 4 salads here and 2 lemonades there… and do on. 9 out of 10 actually got their entrees. And half of those were inedible or cold. Service ran about 90 minutes. Oddly our frustration ran about 90 min too. The waitress had to print the receipt to prove the 10th order was placed even. The manager told me no one had brought it to her attention. I asked why we had to find her and she said she’s been busy with take out orders. But no accountability, honesty or sincerity from the manager on hosing our dinner. Reluctantly they removed the 10th order and threw in 10% to make amends. I paid the bill and tried not to hold the waitress responsible in the tip. So I left a good tip. When I go home I realized they added an automatic tip too. Not a mention from our waitress as I signed for it. Dishonest across the board. Bad manager, bad waitress, bad restaurant.

Excellent food. Super friendly staff and ownership. Portion size, food quality and service all get 5 stars. We eat here all the time. The bread and garlic sauce is a fantastic meal starter. My family loves this place. The only downside is the well water. HIGHLYRECOMMEND to anyone who likes middle eastern food or hasn’t yet tried it.

I had the best hummus of my life at Mezza. The warm bread and garlic dipping sauce they bring for a starter was to die for. The Baba Ganouj was perfect. I loved everything. Best dining experience I have had in a while.

This was a great spot for Mediterranean cuisine — I loved the large portions and the flavorful dishes — nothing was disappointing. They are well known for a few things including the lentil soup and baba ghannooj… I had their combination shawarma plate and everything was very good. This is a great place for Mediterranean comfort food.

Ordered dinner last night and chicken was totally dry! We could barely cut into it! Hummus was good. Pita burnt. We normally like it here but usually get sandwiches!

SOBAD! I was a big fan of Mezza for years after La Shish closed but not anymore after a bad experience. Ordered a carry out of hummus & chicken dinner with extra soup and salad. $ 30.00. Got home and began eating — it was awful! Hummus was soupy, WAY too much salt and barely any chicken — it was inedible. I called and the woman answering phone claimed they were very busy and sold a lot of hummus so must of not had time for it to «set». Okay, I’ve made hummus for years, I never heard of «setting». She said they’d remake it, so drove back. They didn’t even offer us anything as an apology for the Inconvenience and the redo wasn’t very good at all… so bye-bye Mezza. La Marsa is so much better and much nicer owners. Should’ve gone there in the first place!

My folks and I have been meeting up at Mezza for years, since it is one of the few restaurants that we can all agree on. First, I will air my grievances: Sandwich menu, where are you?! Sometimes you don’t want a heaping platter of food. Sometimes you just want a darn sandwich. They used to have them, and they were the only inexpensive thing on the menu. Without the sandwiches, Mezza is now my de facto parental meet-up spot, because I am too much of a cheapskate to go there of my own accord. Also, the tap water tastes super gnarly. On the plus side, they have delicious salads. The vegetarian entrees that I’ve tried(mujadra, tomato kibbee…) have been excellent, though a wee bit pricey. I tried meat here for the first time recently, because it seemed like the best value after the demise of the sandwich menu. Oh. My. Goodness. The lamb here is incredible, like quite possibly the best lamb I’ve ever eaten. I ate well beyond the point of feeling full, and luckily I still had some leftover for lunch the next day. I’m getting hungry just thinking about it. The little pitas they serve are good of course, and they come with a dish of zaatar. This is where my picky mom tried zaatar for the first time, and she loved it. Awww. Service is always friendly, and if you’d like to enjoy a glass of wine or something with your meal(might be a good idea considering the tap water situation) this is one of the few Middle Eastern places with a liquor license. In short, if you’re feeling iron-deficient, this is your place. A tall glass of well water paired with a heaping pile of the most delicious lamb will fix you right up.
