We had originally planned to stop by Taty’s for dinner– only to find out that it is now the Acropolis Greek and American Grill. Neither the signs nor the décor have changed, only the menu and the staff. We should have known this was going to be a disaster. No one was around to greet us. We selected a table, and within minutes were handed menus without a greeting. We quickly decided on our entrees, only to be advised by our waiter that most of the items on the menu were not available. No stuffed peppers, no moussaka, no pastitsio. nothing. So, we opted for one tilapia with grilled green peppers, and one baked halibut dinner . Greek salads arrived after 10 minutes. They were okay— fresh but uninspired. After another 15 minutes, we both received grilled tilapia. The presentation was terrible … a piece of unattractive fish with 5 or 6 tiny pepper slices, lightly marinated with Greek salad dressing. It was accompanied by buttered rice. Tasteless. I can forgive many things, but poor service is unacceptable. Our waiter was bad tempered and unable to communicate effectively. I suspect this is the first time these folks have ever run a restaurant. Our bill arrived, we were charged for two vegetable kabobs, an item that wasn’t even on the menu. The tilapia was listed on the menu at $ 10.99; the kabobs $ 12.99. We paid the bill provided and left a very minimal tip. We couldn’t wait to get out. I doubt arguing with the waiter would have been productive. It is very simple — don’t go to Acropolis. The food is poor and the service is terrible. There are so many choices in West Boylston, there is no reason to come here.
