Ok so here’s the deal. I can’t go there for food anymore. I wanted a bagel and the guy at the register took my order and I watched him make the bagel with cream cheese WITHHISBAREHANDS. Never washed them. Then he came back and took cash from me and used the register. All i could do was imagine how he had handled money ALL Morning and then touched my bagel. Total grossness. I had to throw it out when I Walked out. I just couldn’t get myself to even think about eating it. To top it off the place smelled like body odor. Probably Because it’s the go-to place for construction/electrical/plumbers in the area. Yuck! Sorry guys but I’ll only come to you to grab a soda or bag of chips now.

I eat here all the time. If it was closer to my office, I’d eat here every single day. The food is great, the staff is respectful, courteous, and kind. The prices are lower than most other delis in the area. I call for pick up and its always ready when I get there. They have a great menu with a ton of choices. If you are looking for a great sandwich in West Caldwell, this is where you need to go.

Ok, so today is my second trip to this place. Wanted to be sure before I wrote a review. Firstly, one the best Italian Hot Dogs in New Jersey. They offer a wide range of lunch options. I plan on trying most of them over time since the first 2 I tried were excellent! The above mentioned hot dog and a sandwich they call«The Munson» was #2. Both were awesome! Prices are good. Service is friendly and fast. Highly recommend this place.

Delicious sandwiches. Solid reliable breakfast. My go-to i dont know what I would do without this place. For some reason Caldwell is lacking when it comes to classic jersey breakfast sandwich stops but AJs has the clutch. Ahh-mazing.

This sandwich place is awesome and far from ordinary. Its family owned and even mom works there too! The décor is adorable, with all the old school lunch boxes decorating the place. We haven’t been disappointed in the last two years that we’ve been going there. The roast beef is made on premises and is delish! The daily specials aim to please as well. They are moderately priced, which is not par for the course in this town! So… if you’re looking for a great place for lunch you can’t beat AJ’s!!!

There is nothing particularly special about AJ’s. It is a simple deli/newstand, doesn’t really stand out. The sandwiches are standard fare, I had a turkey and provolone sub. The size is pretty decent, but flavor wise it is nothing special. They had a very limited selection of chips(just Bugles I think) when I was there.
