Although I live in California, I was born and raised in Plattsburgh. Whenever I find myself back home I make it a point to stop here at least once. Shelly is a character and locals know the deal. Each time that I’ve been to CCDI the food has been nothing short of excellent. When traveling I get tired of «restaurant» food, and this is not that. It’s a scrumptious home cooked meal in my opinion. I’ve been for breakfast and lunch and have never been disappointed. Shelly can cook and she’s not afraid to tell you what’s on her mind.

I keep going back to West Chazy. I had lunch with the awesome folks at the Country Corner Café, owner Shelly posed for a picture with her Road Kill daily special. She also offered me some finger me pie made with butterfingers. She makes her own crusts and had an offering of 16 assorted pies. I enjoyed a giant blueberry pancake and fried egg over easy. What an awesome little place. Fun fun fun yum yum yum.

Talk to Shelly — Don’t worry you can’t miss her! This is country home cooking at its best! Go hungry — the portions are generous. The pulled pork sandwich is out of this world.
