I am uncertain if this place has been renamed??? One sign said Cavanaugh’s, another said The Spot. Who knows??? I agree with the previous reviews that there is nothing Irish about this pub. Its just a combination of a sports bar and dive bar. But since I am a dive bar girl, I have no problems with that. We had a large group with us that the bartenders managed with ease. They already had a large table that fit all of us. Several of my friends enjoyed the pool tables. They did have a DJ booth and dance floor, but it wasn’t in use when we were there. They had a fish bowl drink special for $ 6– Any flavor pinnacle and any mixer. Bartender said it was equal to 3 drinks and she poured it strong! Not sure how they made any money off that one. If I was in the area and was just looking for a chill place to have a drink, I would definitely be back.

If you live close, and you’re 21, you don’t mind the funk and the outdated everything. I would NOT eat here.

Cavanaugh’s is great for a neighborhood bar. They have drink specials every single day of the week, four pool tables, a dart board, mega touch, jukebox etc etc. It is a great spot during the summer when the tiki bar is open on their fairly large patio. They have some great bartenders who will take good care of you if you take care of them. They attract a mixed crowd. You’re bound to find someone to chat and sip with.

As Mike Myers’ character on Coffee Talk would say: «Cavanaugh’s Irish Pub is neither Irish, nor a pub. Discuss.» You walk into this place and it reeks of sports bar(literally — it smelled). I have no idea how they feel justified calling it an Irish pub. They have a flag and Guinness, that’s it. Nothing else remotely Irish. The clientele leaned towards white trash if that’s your thing, or if you like sitting around and making fun of that thing. Also, the bartender on multiple occasions turned off our jukebox selections. On the bright side, it was the only place open late on Christmas night besides Waffle House.
