I’m very unhappy with the service I received for my wedding hair from this salon. I had a trial with Dustin about 2 weeks before my wedding and I wanted my hair half up half down/​curly. The trial itself cost $ 100 (not what is listed on their website) and immediately after I left the salon, the curl completely came out of my hair. When I went in for my day of hair styling, Dustin was 40 minutes late, which set my entire day back including make up appointment elsewhere. I shared with him that the curl came out of my hair during the trial and requested tighter curls this time (showing him a picture). He assured me he would use better product this time but curled my hair the exact same way. Yet again the curl came out an hour later, and I ended up needing one of my bridesmaids to try to curl my hair before the wedding. He also styled my bangs differently and I told him 3 times during the appointment that I wasn’t crazy about them, but he didn’t fix them. Due to time constraints from him being late, I ended up going home and trying to fix them myself. To his credit, the up-​do was done well, but not worth the high cost and hassle of everything else that happened this day.
I also have issue with the pricing at this salon. As I mentioned earlier, the website listed the trial and wedding hair as $ 100, and I wasn’t corrected on this until I went to pay for the trial when I was told that the website is «under construction» and my trial would be $ 100 alone, and I’d be quoted on my wedding day for anywhere between $ 60-​$ 90 on the day of my wedding due to it being «a simple up-​do». On the day of my wedding AFTER Dustin had already done the work, they told me it would be another $ 100. When I questioned it, the owner came over and told me that was what I was quoted, which wasn’t true. She proceeded to get really nasty with me, going to the register and taking out a $ 10 bill and saying «if it’s the difference between $ 10, just take your money.» I was so upset between being late for my makeup now, my hair not being how I wanted it and then being told I owed more money that I told her to keep it and left.
This salon is not worth your time. I would highly recommend finding services elsewhere.

Got my eyebrows mapped and waxed here by Tara. Absolutely overjoyed at my results! She is professional, warm and VERY knowledgable. Their prices are great as well. I will be back!!!

I went to Emily Alice for my wedding, along with a small group of family and friends, and every one of us had a great experience. My mom (who I can see already beat me to the posting punch here) looked freakin amazing. People are still talking about it. Not only do the people here do an excellent job, they are just fun, down to earth people so that the experience of being there (for both my trial and the wedding day) was just relaxing and fun. Every person who went with me AND even the friends of mine who just popped in to say ‘hi’ fell in love with the place. I heard at least 4 people say they would go there all the time if they lived closer. I wish I could, too! Thank you for everything, Emily, Jackie, Sean, Dustin, Tara… whoever you ordered the lunch from… everybody!

My daughter got married last week-​end and 5 of us got our hair and make-​up done. I can’t begin to tell you how wonderful we all looked. I have never looked that good in my life!
I wish I lived closer, I would go every week! The atmosphere was relaxed, everyone that works there was friendly and made us feel at home. You can go to a snotty shop in New York or Philly, but you will never look as good.

Love this place! The salon has a cool vibe and the staff are great! I showed Emily a picture of what color highlights I wanted and she delivered! I think it’s the best color I have ever received. Will definitely be going back!

Love Emily Alice! I started getting my waxing done here when I moved back to the area almost a year ago and have not and will not go anywhere else. Maureen is the best and not only does an absolutely phenomenal job every time, she takes her time, is thorough and is completely personable and genuine. I’m probably there once every 2 – 3 months, and Maureen remembers exact details of things I have told her months ago; my husband’s name, his job, our plans together and other small details that for most people would go in one ear and out the other.
Also, began getting spray tans here around the same time. Literally no other place can even compare. The most natural, glowing tan, looks like I just got home from vacation in the bahamas … AND it’s only $ 40, lasts about 1 ½ weeks and is just amazing :)
Lastly, I’m all about aesthetics, décor, character, etc. Walking into Emily Alice is relaxing and refreshing in itself. Every single room is peaceful and beautifully styled. The whole salon is in a renovated old historic house in town… stunning! The way the place was designed is what initially drew me in and the staff and services are what keeps me coming back.

Emily Alice is a welcoming salon with an accommodating owner, (Emily Alice). It’s got a shabby chic and hip vibe — not a cookie cutter salon. Maureen is my stylist and she does great color and cuts. The entire staff is flexible and friendly. Thoroughly recommend!

Emily Alice is a beautiful, boutique hair, skin care, and make up salon. I was impressed with the attention to detail given to the entire store. The atmosphere is very welcoming and the staff are top notch. I had my eyelashes and make up done and could not have asked for a better look. Emily took her time to ensure that she gave me the type of look that I desired. I look forward to returning for additional services.

This salon is the Best of the Best in West Chester! Emily is amazing with her attention to detail and the way she does her color. Maureen is fantastic at styling and cutting your hair. I have gone to several salons in the area and Emily Alice is the BEST. The prices are just right and the service is worth the money. The salon is clean and very cute inside. Everyone there is nothing but professional and know hair, make up and style! I would recommend this place to anyone and everyone. You will not be disappointed.

My girlfriends and I were here as a bridal party getting our hair and makeup done. We were all very pleased with our makeup. The owner Emily Alice did all of our makeup (10 plus girls) in about 2 hours and we were all very pleased! The makeup was fresh and natural and lasted all day! I would definitely recommend Emily Alice for makeup.
Now for hair… We brought pictures (as we were instructed to do) of the updo/​hair styles we wished for. Every single girl was unhappy with how their hair turned out. One bridesmaid ended up with a messy bun she could do herself and pretty much does do herself when she goes to work each day… not worth $ 50 if you ask me. One hairstylist in the upstairs station told a bridesmaid she was ‘the difficult one.’ This same stylist spoke of her divorce often while my good friend prepares for her wedding… this is supposed to be the happiest day of her life remind you.
Overall, a cute, trendy salon with a talented owner. The downstairs staff was good. Upstairs staff member not so much. One bridesmaid was considering getting her hair and makeup done here for her upcoming wedding yet because of this experience she decided not to. Customer service needs a little more attention.

I went to Emily Alice a couple weeks ago for my wedding hair and make up trials. I showed them a couple small pictures from Pinterest on my phone of what I wanted and they hit it out of the park. It was exactly what I wanted and better. Their décor is amazing, and all the ladies there are super nice. Can’t wait to go back for my wedding!!!

Love love love! I will never go anywhere else to get my hair cut and colored… Amazing extensions! Can’t wait to try the spa services :)
