(Posting this for my parents who were so upset they asked me to post«to that site where you give places reviews») We bought a lot of expensive plants here for landscaping our house. One of the more expensive potted planters wasnt doing well in the few days after buying it, despite following the owner’s exact instructions. We took it back to exchange it and they refused to help us in any way. The owners were rude, they won’t back their overpriced product, and wouldn’t help us whatsoever. I won’t spend another penny at this place. For those considering coming here, just be warned that they will try to pawn off dying plants on you and refuse to work with you after the fact. I can’t imagine how they stay in business when they discourage customers from ever returning.

As Marie said, Gear’s is an impressive Garden Center. We visit Gear’s every spring to stock up on flowers for planting season and are always pleased with the selection of beautiful flora the garden center has in stock. My mom’s hospitalization this year was my first experience with Gear’s floral arrangements. She received a number of beautiful«get-well» arrangements from Gear’s that were hand delivered by friendly Gear’s employees. Gear’s staff is always happy to answer questions and help you find what you’re looking for in their greenhouse. They have pretty extensive hours during the week, they’re open from 9 – 7 Monday-Friday and they also have decent weekend hours, 9 – 5 Saturday and 11 – 4 Sunday. At Christmas time every year, Gear’s has a live manger scene that we always stop to check out. Pretty cool.

So, my dearest and I decided to do the«Better Homes & Gardens» thing today. Thus, made a trip to a nearby nursery looking for gardening ideas. The first place we went(won’t name the business, but it was on Rt 747 Tyler”s Meadow Road), the employee didn’t know alot about plants and the trees were really, really over priced. We then went to Gear’s Nursery. I was totally impressed. The employee knew the plant I was describing, said he didn’t have it in stock, but went through several plants thar are from the same species. We also found a huge, fabulous looking weeping cherry tree, and it was half the price of a smaller, less healthy tree we’d seen at Lowe’s and Home Depot. The owner helped us load the tree, found these wonderful pots he sold us for half price and was generally a terrific sales person. I don’t know how often dearest and I will do the«domestic couple» thing, but if it involves landscaping, we’ll definitely go back to Gear’s.
