Tabitha pierced my daith — I am trying to combat migraines. The process was super simple and the room and instruments were all clean and sterile. She was professional and did a great job with my request to make the piercing an inconspicuous as possible. She even had a Popsicle when I felt a little light headed. I don’t know that I will ever get any more piercing — but I would recommend her and Local Color to anyone. Update: so far so good — no migraines in 3 months — totally worth it.

Lisa Harrison is a gifted artist. She is the only one that I will have to tattoo me. She is a great listener; does what you ask and adds her own artistic flair.

After three tattoos and a septum, this is the only place I’ll go. I get compliments all the time for my tattoos and people constantly ask where I get them done. Lisa and Sharon are both great tattoo artists who know what works and what doesn’t. I remember my second tattoo with Lisa, how I wanted a quote on my shoulder/upper chest and she refused to do it for me because she thought it would look awful at the location. I am so happy she refused me because we settled on a place and everyone including myself loves it. Shannon did a half sleeve on me at the Baltimore Convention and it is one of my favorite pieces. I have brought 3 of my friends there, all of them virgins and they all were extremely happy with their results. They are addicted now. Lisa was lovely to all three of them and they refuse to go anywhere else for their next tattoo. I have found my spot and will never go anywhere else. I don’t trust anyone else.

High quality artists with diverse skill sets and reasonable prices. Thoughtful, considerate, and helpful. I would not go anywhere else and would not hesitate to recomend this shop to my family and friends. Goto Local Color, you will be happy you did.

My wife and I have been going to Local Color for years now and have had nothing but great experiences. Shannon is an amazing artist and everyone else is friendly and helpful. We recommend this shop to all our friends. Just watch out for Kiki… that cat is crazy!

I 100% regret getting my tattoo here. The woman who did my tattoo was extremely rude, unprofessional, did a horrible job on my tat, and I found out later that she was the owner. Don’t go here if you aren’t already covered in tattoos and piercings, she doesn’t take kindly to clean cut looking people or «first-timers.» Here’s my story: My two sisters(family, not sorority) and I went here to get matching tattoos, something small but meaningful for all of us. The artist outwardly told us she thought our ideas were stupid. We sort of ignored her rude comments and tried to focus on each other’s excitement. She had no other customers waiting, but was rushing us to make up our minds about designs. When my tattoo was finished, I stood up and asked my sisters«do you like it?!» and the artist abruptly answers«NO.» I noticed the shading looked sort of off on the letters, she said it was just because it was fresh and swollen. Nope, it’s fully healed now and the letters looks very uneven and patchy. I can only assume she did this on purpose because I took very good care of it and it was an extremely simple design I could have done myself if I had the right tools(and she clearly hated me and my tattoo). Then when we went to pay, they did not have any change and I had to go next door for change. I didn’t want to tip her because she was so rude but my sisters convinced me it was the right thing to do. To the rude owner who did my tattoo– I understand that you probably don’t like doing small little girly designs on discrete spots, that you would much rather do a detailed badass arm sleeve, but that does not mean you have to explicitly tell me you hate it. I have a job where I unfortunately, unlike you, cannot be covered in tattoos, so these little hidden ones are what I have to settle for. I can’t just slap a skull on my ankle because I think it looks cool, and you have to accept that you will have MANY clients like me. Getting a tattoo for someone like me is a really big deal, and you need to be sensitive to that as a professional. If you don’t like it, keep your mouth shut unless I ask you for your opinion. I only have two small tattoos, both were long thought out and have a lot of meaning behind them for me because they are something that will be on my body FOREVER. You not only(maybe intentionally) ruined the one that symbolizes my strong family ties, but you ruined the one-time experience of going and getting these together with my sisters.

Thank you Lisa! I went to local color about two weeks ago and added to a tattoo that was very boring. I had an idea of what i wanted but Lisa, the owner, was kind enough to spend some time with me designing something great. A friend of mine recommended this place, he has had several done there and all of them look amazing so the decision to go get mine at local color was a no-brainer. I was a little nervous because the original tattoo i had was along my ribcage and it hurt real bad when i had got it done(unfortunately not at local color) Lisa could tell i was a little nervous, she was very gentle when she did the new one. She also recolored the original i had, which i was not expecting at all! I had a great experience there. I would recommend this place to anyone who wants to get a tattoo, you will be so happy with the result! The place is clean, everyone is friendly, and they do amazing work! I’m going back soon for tattoo #4 THANKSAGAINLISA!!!

I’ve had two tattoos done here. One with the owner and one with the male on staff. The one by the owner I was happy with, and was treated well. HOWEVER, I went back for my second tattoo and got the man, I asked for 3 simple stars and they came out spotted. So they are black with blank dots throughout. I have 2 other tattoos prior from other shops and have had no problem, I know how to care for them. I was so upset with my stars I went to another shop, the artist there was astonished that a professional tattooer had done them. He asked if I sit okay, I do. I have high thresh hold for pain. He said it required more than a touch up, he just redid the whole tattoo but now they are perfect! MY old tattoo done by Lisa is also spotty, but I think it adds character to that particular tat. I WOULDNEVERGOBACKTOLOCALCOLOR. if you want a sub par tattoo go ahead, waste of money!

Shannon has done four of my seven tattoos and I cannot recommend her enough. To date I have sent three people to her and they have all raved about the awesome work she’s done. I have never had a bad experience there, they’ve always been friendly and willing to work with me to get exactly what I wanted, they even helped design a tattoo for my brother who was overseas so that he could get it there as soon as he was home on break. Go there, have Shannon do your ink, you won’t regret it.

I went into this place 2 days ago to get my boyfriend a can of H2Ocean. Walking up to the door one of the people who works there was sitting outside on the phone smoking a cigarette(come to find out later that she was the owner). I stood inside for a few minutes and waited, the piercer was piercing someone and no one was there to help me. The girl that was sitting outside(the owner) finally came in and continued to finish her personal conversation on the phone, she wrote down some guy named Joey’s phone number on a pad standing right next to me and proceeded to tell him that she was coming home for a visit in September and they should get together when she gets there. The piercer came out of the back room with 2 girls, one of which got her belly button pierced so she was still talking to them about that. The one on the phone(the owner) finally finished her phone conversation and then asked me if I had a question about something. I asked for my can of H2Ocean and left very annoyed. Upon getting home I remembered my boyfriend going in their a few months back to get a piece of jewelry changed and the piercer asked him if he was going to «offer her a tip». So, I went on to facebook to see if they had a page and I came across the owners page. I sent her a message letting her that she was very unprofessional and rude and also let her know about what her piercer did a few months ago. She replied today and told me she was sorry for the way I felt which was fine and professional but… She then, 15 minutes later let her rude piercer reply telling me she never asked for a tip. Now, my original email was letting her know that she was unprofessional and rude and by letting the piercer also reply was way unprofessional. I did reply to that and let her know that she proved me right and I would be making bad reviews about her shop. So, if you are in the West Chester area drive into town and go to Extreme Ink and save yourself the rudeness from these individuals.
