Went in this morning. We were their first customer on their first day serving brunch. Service was great. Food was delicious and reasonably priced. Mimosas were $ 12 each. Deducting one star for such a high price on champagne mixed with juice. Will explore other options for breakfast/brunch in the future as I prefer that my drinks do not cost more than my meal.

We had dinner with a very large group which is always tough — we were seated about 35 – 45 min late but were honestly ok with that. The food was very good– have nothing to complain about and would definitely eat there again. My only issue was the size of the cocktails and cost. For a regular grey goose martini you pay $ 13 and get a medium sized glass about 2⁄3 full. I don’t mind spending the money for a solid pour. The bartender told us they had a 6 sec count pour. Just down the street at Pietros you get a larger glass and a full drink for the same or less. Several people in our group observed the same. The lamb special was amazing!

Had reservations for 7:30 on a Saturday night for four. Table was ready on time. Waiter was prompt and attentive. Drinks just took five minutes. Appetizers no more than 15 minutes. We ordered the meatballs and calamari. Both were very good. Complimentary bruschetta. The restaurant is EXTREMELYNOISY! It is almost impossible to have a conversation across the table, or even side to side. I was hoarse by the end of the night. But here’s the rub. The main course dishes took TWOHOURS to arrive. Even when tables around us were being seated, ordering, receiving food, eating and leaving. Our waiter was very apologetic and kept apologizing for a mix up in the kitchen, but the table beside us was experiencing the same problem. We were offered an endless supply of complimentary bruschetta, but that doesn’t really help when you have to keep popping out to feed a meter that doesn’t take bruschetta, On the plus side, when the main course arrived the restaurant was a lot quieter, just three or four tables, but we didn’t feel much like eating anymore. Even so, the food was pretty good; I had the crab ravioli with shrimp special, my friend had chicken parm(which he raved about) his wife a pasta boli dish, my wife a pizza(which was quite black around the edges). Disappointing night, since we had heard good things. Best thing about it was the waiter, who really seemed to care.

My girlfriend and I have passed Mercato countless times, and always said that we should try it sometime since it constantly looked busy. We looked up the reviews on Unilocal, and while the vast majority of the reviews didn’t rave about the place, we still figured we would try it for ourselves. We made reservations ahead of time, thinking the restaurant would be pretty busy the day after Christmas — it was not. Immediately we were a bit disappointed when the hostess offered us a table by the bar. While the seats by the bar could have backs to them, it was not a total loss. Our waitress was prompt and attentive, so service was never an issue with our visit. In terms of the actual food, it was surprisingly subpar. My girlfriend started out with the lobster bisque, which unfortunately was the best dish we had. I started off with a caesar salad. The dressing had entirely too much oil in it, which effectively ruined the dish for me. For the entrée portion, I had the paccheri which was actually not that bad. The short rib melted in my mouth, even if the sauce was a little bit overpowering. My girlfriend had a seafood dish which appeared and smelled pretty good. Unfortunately she fell ill, which we suspect was due to the seafood. Overall, we were pretty disappointed. Had it not been for our waitress, I would have given them one star. While we aren’t opposed to coming here again, it probably will not be for a while. We’re certainly not Italian food aficionados, but there are much better Italian options in West Chester(ie. Limoncello). Mercato has a lot to improve in the food department.

Went with my mom, cousin, aunt and some friends. Enjoyed the food and atmosphere. I would come again. Although they did burn the crust a bit, I would still come back and order it again. I enjoyed it. The food was worth it, but it seemed a bit crowded and the appetizers were pretty good. Not worth the five star rating, but not as bad as I thought it would be.

Stopped by with several fans last evening, and had a really enjoyable time. The service was excellent… our server know the menu well and made some great recommendations(the Pork Chop was unbelievable). Friendly atmosphere… maybe a little louder than I would prefer, but not to the point that you can’t have a conversations. Will be adding Mercato to our West Chester rotation!

It would have been a 1 star other than the wine and our waitress. We had a bottle of super Tuscan that was great and our waitress was a doll! Just bad reheated Italian food! I have had better at the Olive Garden which is gross! Lasagna was just bad! Tasted like week old leftovers that should have been thrown out. The Gnocchi was over cooked and the prosciutto had a very odd taste… almost like ammonia. Will not be back! So many better options for authentic Italian in WC!

The food was good. I would go back for the quality and tastefulness, but I am not sure I would go back though for other reasons. I had a reservation and was told the table wasn’t ready. I was ok with that. They asked if I would be at the bar and I said I would be outside. After 20 minutes I went to check on the table, it was ready. The restaurant is EXTREMELYLOUD. I kept having to say what to whom I was dining with. The waiter was good. Service was slow though. It was long between apps and entrees. I know it was a Saturday night, but this was ridiculous. Food was great though! The menu had a nice variety and the specials sounded great.

So I had yet another fabulous date with a fabulous guy here last Friday and everything was perfect. The vibe here is super cool and kind of rustic. Lots of repurposed wooden pallets and string lights which I find quite charming. For starters we ordered a meat and cheese board which was delightful. There were a few types of jams to spread on the bread and cheese… it was perfection. For dinner I ordered a rigatoni dish with sausage and mushrooms which was delish. My date ordered a veal dish and said it was excellent. This restaurant has a lovely wine menu as well. The Cabernet was perfect. Don’t get the house wine though it was swill :-/ All in all I loved this restaurant and will certainly be back!

Waiter was great, food came fast. We had the pizza special — with sausage. Soggy in the middle, crust neutral tasting, the whole thing lacking taste. Cesar’s salad — not super fresh, too little lime, croutons looked and tasted not home made — again lacking taste. Ravioli with butternut squash filling and sage — at $ 27 overpriced for four ravioli, loads of butter/oil, very little sage, and a lot of garlic — which doesn’t compliment the composition. We are well travelled and very much into Italian regional cuisine — in our opinion they don’t get it right. We still had a good time sitting outside during Halloween parade but won’t be coming back, mediocre at best.

The ambience is really nice, sadly the food wasn’t as good. We started with fried artichokes which lacked any flavor. My squash soup which was in the specials that day was very nice though. I absolutely loved the soup and was looking forward to the main course. I ordered a pasta and although it wasn’t bad, there was nothing special about it. My friend liked his Brick chicken though. Overall, I found the food to be just mediocre and the soup was the only saving grace of my meal.

Honestly two stars is generous here. The power went out so understandably the food was delayed, but for a table of four that waited an hour for food, you should serve all four plates at the same time, not three at once and an overdone burnt steak twenty minutes later. The only reason this restaurant gets two stars is because our server, Home, was very sweet and very accommodating and apologized for the delay in food. When the MANAGEMENT came over to the guest with a burnt steak and never once apologized, never once offered to redo it but instead asked about the flavor-that is appalling. I have been here a few times and the reviews are correct, the food is average the service is nice and the management is the worst I have seen in the seven years and I was a server/bartender for over six years.

Went here on a Friday evening. Service was fantastic. We ate inside, although they have a surprisingly large space on the sidewalk that has a great atmosphere — flowers and heaters. Maybe next time. Love the look of the inside of the restaurant. Not too loud, even though it got very crowded as the evening went on. Had a delicious Pera martini. Did not care for my appetizer of arancini. The risotto was really undercooked. Had the scallops for dinner and they were large and perfectly cooked. For dessert had ice cream with an espresso shot and mini cannoli. Fantastic. Would definitely go again. Great experience. Lots of other foods on the menu that looked equally delicious.

Service was good but the food was very poor. If you’re looking for real authentic Italian food– this is not the place to go. The bread first off was disgusting. Not sure if it was sitting out all day or even made there or bought locally that day, but it was gross.(That was our first sign that dinner wasn’t going to be good. how do you mess up bread!?) The entrees were not good either. I ate their about a month ago and had the Sea Bass, which had no flavor at all and unfortunately do not remember what the other 3 ordered, but no one really liked the food at all. This place has a lot of potential! It just needs to figure out how to make REAL authentic Italian food.

I have been here twice, once for lunch a few weeks ago and now for dinner. I never write reviews but when I was searching for a dinner spot, I noticed then didn’t show up as gluten free. That is why I writing my first review! First, when I had lunch here, the server was great! He was attentive and answered all my gf questions without irritation. The salmon he recommended was AMAZING! I am not a fan of mustard but I could of licked my plate clean. Now on to dinner. Since I was here before, I knew they had gf pasta and that is what I was craving. I was so surprised that they cooked then gf pasta perfectly, and the dish looked and tasted amazing. Again, not sure why they aren’t labeled gluten friendly. I will return to this place as much as I can! Make sure to sit on the patio!

Been here a couple times and I’ll say the service is average and the food is good. The last time I went there I wanted to substitute something and I was informed they«do not substitute on Fridays, or Saturdays due to how busy it can get». Although this is a legitimate excuse I’m going to give a counter argument and say the limitations of what is on the menu and in the food is what makes me not want to go back. If I had more options of what to choose from(without this sounding like I should go to a chain restaurant) then I would have enjoyed this Friday night dining experience better. The seating outside was cramped as well but beautiful weather makes it worth it as long as you can grab the right spot. They tried to squeeze a couple in a 2 person table that was jammed between 2 other tables on both sides which clearly wasn’t fit for anyone to sit in. My friend and I were about to leave so we offered them our table that had a little more room and they appreciated us and agreed where they were going to sit was not going to be satisfactory. 50% of a restaurant experience is the actual customer service and the other 50% is food. Between these two things mixed together I would give them a 60%. 35% food /35% service. Take this review for what it is. I’ll give it one more chance. On a weekday where I can request what I really want.

Gave the place three tries. Each time it’s been average to below. Atmosphere: Nicely done inside with rustic appeal. The bar area is nice with a marble top. Very well done décor. Service: Has gotten better as they have been around. The servers are knowledgeable and attentive. The servers we have had have all been friendly and personable. Food: This is were they just don’t bring it home. The food is overpriced and underwhelming. I don’t mind paying for great food and sometimes I don’t mind average food. But, put the two together and I’m not a happy camper. I have had the pizza, pasta, and seafood– all were average at best. A few of the apps are very good. I will not return for dinner, but would sit at the bar for a few drinks and snacks.

Date night with the hubby and our first time visiting this downtown WC eatery. Sat indoors and while it was a loud, the décor and atmosphere was very nice. Our waiter, Douglas, recommended Double T Red wine and it was a nice blend to start our dinner. For our starter, we ordered grilled calamari with white bean salad. It was spectacular… melted in our mouth. I ordered Chilean Sea Bass with mussels… didn’t not disappoint and I believe the artichokes were my favorite. Hubby ordered veal scallopini that was cooked to perfection. For dessert, it was salted caramel chocolate cake… who can resist caramel and chocolate? By far, one of the moistest cakes I’ve ever tasted. The service was very good and Douglas was extremely attentive. Definitely will come back.

Our first time here. Unlike some ‘Italian’ bistros, this place is owned and operated by the genuine article– Alfredo from Naples. I had the saltimbocca, made exactly as it should be– soft, cooked medium with a rich sauce and melted cheese. My wife has the seafood risotto special, too large for her to finish. We started with the mussels in garlic broth, huge, plump and delicious(photo). Good bar, decent wine selection. My one regret is not trying the pizza. Alfredo says he brings the flour in from Naples and imported his wood burning oven as well. There is no better pizza, in my view, than in Naples. The restaurant was a little noisy, we ate outside. We will be back.

Frist of all let me adress the service comments made by some Unilocalers.. I was in the service biz before finishing college and going into the business world . When a new restaurant opens sometimes service can lack because everyone is brand new to the restaurant. Sometimes it takes months to work out the kinks. This is not a 5 star place so expect a learning curve Just remember when you eat out that everyone has a bad day and no one is 100 percent on their game Now to the food I have eaten here 4 to 6 times and have stopped in for drinks as well. The food is done well for Westchester. They usual have good specials and the pizza is better then anything I have had in the area. This food overall is pretty good
