It’s February 4th20165:30pm, during diner time. I go to order spicy chicken tenders and am told that there is none available for an hour as they were all frozen. Then I ask for spicy chicken breast, again none available for 15 minutes. This is a chicken place right, where chicken is your main seller. The employees don’t care and have a crappy attitude. They need new management desperately.

This is the worst Popeye’s on the planet. On Friday 2⁄27 apx 9pm, I ordered a 8 piece all dark meat pack. I should have looked around before I ordered. The place was a wreck. Drive-thru was the same. Took forever for my order as the manager couldn’t get the fry area to keep up with the load. Every customer was upset. When my order was handed to me, I ask if this was made with the dark chicken that I requested. She looked at me with an annoyed look and said yes. I should have checked the order right then. I got home and find 3 white meat breast’s. It was 5 min till they closed. Nothing I could do to correct. Remember, the clerk looked at me and said the order was correct. SHELIEDRIGHTTOMYFACE. This Popeye’s is off my list forever. And it will be a long time before I ever enter another Popeye’s. It’s sad as I do like there Chicken over KFC. Next time I’ll just get that $ 12 Bacon Wrapped Pizza. They don’t give the free hassle with every order!!!

Coupons would be wonderful. Popeyes and I go back a long way, to 1988 in Philly. Then, the prices were reasonable and the portions were good, and the management would give me a free drink while I waited because frying chicken always takes too long. Then, the unimaginable happened – wings became popular. The cheapest, almost but not really meaty part of the chicken started to gain meat through various biological techniques. The price of chicken soared. Now, try to get a couple of pieces of good chicken for a reasonable price – it’s impossible. This certain Popeyes is in combination with a Shell station and a convenience store. It’s a good arrangement. They did the same thing with Texaco in Florida when I was living there. Shell has all sorts of friends doing business in their buildings. The full menu seems to be available and the woman at the counter was friendly and polite. She asked the right questions and got me the correct order. Well done! The 3 strips were tasty(I saved one for later) and the biscuit was fluffy and heavy at the same time, with just a bit of crispiness on the top, I think, without the lard(trans fats!) they used to use. The dirty/cajun rice was good but neither hot nor spicy. It wasn’t really greasy, either. That seems odd. Taste is everything. That’s why I don’t go to Chick-Fil-A. Thanks, Popeyes! Now, send me some coupons so I can really afford to buy chicken combos.
