Modern Urban Woods is by far the best place to shop for reclaimed wood!
Adam and Devin are hands down the coolest people I’ve ever dealt with. I never personally met Adam but spoke with him numerous times through email. No question went unanswered and he even sent me photos of pieces of wood I wanted to check out.
I visited the warehouse in West Chicago and was impressed by the size and variety of the wood. There were so many choices I ended up staying there 3 hours…
While there, Devin answered every question I had and never seemed bothered by the fact that I had never shopped for reclaimed wood or even put custom furniture together. He cut the pieces I chose down to size, supplied me with screws and nails, gave me ideas on stains and even the methods I would need to put everything together.
Adam and Devin are true professionals. More people should check them out when they need some quality reclaimed wood… I’ll be back again and again for all my future projects!

Adam and his guys are terrific. He cares very much about his business and his customer. I made the mistake of purchasing barn wood from a guy who said he supplied wood to Robert Redford. His wood was crawling with bugs. Adam kiln dries his wood to ensure that all bugs are removed and the wood is ready for use. I learned the hard way that you get what you pay for… His wood is beautiful and he goes out of his way to get you whatever you need. He will also make furniture or whatever you’d like and has a great eye for design. His wood floors and furniture are incredible. No, I am not related to Adam — He and his guys are just really that good.
