Hite’s is THE best place to get bbq! Their bbq is great and their bbq chicken is even better. Their ribs are also killer. And their hash. Ok everything is my favorite thing. Go here!

I can’t believe we have such a gem of a BBQ joint right here in the Columbia area. I tried a bit of everything but the chicken, and I can’t wait to try that next time. This place has world class BBQ. The pulled pork, ribs, and hash are all just perfectly smoky and the sauce is delicious. They even have the best slaw I may have ever eaten. The pork skins were a real delight. How it is that this place escaped my attention for the first decade I resided here I will never know. I just hope that this place is always there as long as I live here. Do yourself a favor and go get some BBQ at Hite’s.

Hite’s is the best. Nothing says summer to me more than a friday night when mom would pick up bbq chickens and fixins. The pork is great as well, but no one makes a better BBQ chicken than Hites. Great meat counter too. Good onion sausage. Love the pre wrapped bbq sandwich to sneak on the ride home. True West Columbia Legend!

Great spot for BBQ. The ribs were out of this world tender and delicious. No frills and only outdoor seating. Glad we discovered this gem.

A no frills BBQ joint ! The hash and rice was pretty decent, I wish I would have tried more dishes. This place is only open on fri. and sat. I believe like most BBQ places in sc.

Open on Friday and Saturday only. Also only takeout. Great reviews. Can’t wait to try it!.. Tried the BBQ. It was good, but honestly a bit of a letdown, after seeing so many great reviews(and seeing reviews in newspapers etc). It was good, but I’ve definitely had better BBQ in other places in Charlotte. Since we didn’t realize that it was a pickup style only, we had to find a park to eat lunch(on our road trip), but found a great canal front park, and enjoyed it there. The food portions are large — we easily could have split one plate! Next time we are passing through, we will proabably try somewhere else.

Thankfully, this is NOT Hudson’s.They cook meat(on weekends), hash & rice, slaw, mustard– based sauce ONTHESIDE(5-stars for common sense:-), and VERY, VERY good chicken, but no extraneous, terribly bad buffet like the overrated, Hudson’s.Once again, they cook meat, slowly, all night long-drive by on Thursday and drool in anticipation… The meat is as tender as an Elvis’ ballad, and PERFECTLY seasoned(at Hudson’s, bring your blood pressure pills);very little sauce is needed, if at all… I hope they don’t read this, but compared to others, the food is under-priced.

The quality of the meat at this pit cooked barbeque joint is excellent. It’s a pick-up and go place(no tables) but so worth a stop for the best mustard based bbq! Highly recommended!
