Such a great community park! I’ve lived in West Covina since I was 4-years old. I remember coming here for Boy Scout activities and more recently for church events with the youth. It’s a very open layout and not very busy when I’ve visited. It’s a great place to relax and enjoy nature and the outdoors. I recently drove into the parking lot to enjoy a canoli I bought just down the street. It has a football field, which is home to the Bruins pop warner team. If I remember correctly, there’s at least one picnic area that’s good for parties. It’s in a great location, very close to a great commercial shopping area(Eastland Shopping Center).

No better park to catch a nice little league game or a solid pop warner football game. Great shade! Great time!

Every experience at this park has been good. Had my daughter’s 1st birthday party here a few years back and come here every so often to ruin around and let her run wild. They have a few«shelters» for rent through the city and the park is on two levels. Top level is by the señor citizens center so parking can get a bit packed on the weekend if mutiple events are going on. Playground and sports fields are on the bottom level along with the restrooms and another parking lot. I believe they even have a Horseshoe pit by the lower shelter too. We recently stayed coming here to utilize the hills that they have for working out. Every time I’ve been here the park is pretty well kept. They also changed the play area from sand to mulch which I prefer done you don’t end up with sand all over the place when you leave. Los of families and seems pretty dog friendly.

This is a decent park located next to the senior center. Pretty of parking spot, but there is only one grill in there. In general, this is park for outdoor activist such as volleyball and football. Not crowded even during the weekend. We did a group Barbeque here by bringing on our grill and did have a good time. Park is clean and pretty well maintain in most area.

Nice park with lots of trees and green grass that’s actually alive and nice to picnic on. Ample parking and it’s nice and quiet on weekdays. Maybe even a little TOO quiet. I make it a rule that when I’m at a park alone with only my 10mo old son, I either go to parks where the play area & picnic area is near a pretty busy street or make sure there are a good number of people also using the park. The child’s play area at Cortez park is kind of deep inside near the back of the park away from the street and since this park has very few people during the weekdays, I never really feel comfortable visiting alone. Not that I’ve seen any shady characters lurking about, I just feel you can never be too safety conscience when it comes to personal safety of yourself and your baby.
