Best deal for Mexican food in West Covina It has a full carniceria, Mexican beers, and aguas frescas, can’t ask for anything more. Customer service is awesome, the people know how to show respect and value repeated customers. Always greet us with a smile and offer suggestions.

I was hesitant to try this place because some of the reviews seem like they’re by friends or family but you know what? THEGOODRATINGSAREWELLDESERVED. I literally just had my lunch here, and my bf and I were thoroughly impressed by the food! From the outside, you might question how a little market could also have a full kitchen to make a bunch of variety, but don’t be deterred! Everything we tried tasted super duper fre$h and made with love! — TOSTADABOWL($ 7.99) — 4⁄5 — HOLYCHALUPA! This thing was HUGE(see my pic)! This could’ve easily fed 2 people. My only complaint about it was something in there seemed chili-like(maybe the al pastor was… runny?) which made the contents of the bowl all conglomerate into a mushy mess. Still good though! — 2SOFTTACOCOMBO($ 5.99) — 5⁄5 — Your choice of two tacos with rice and beans; I chose 1 carne asada, 1 al pastor. The rice was what wow’d me the most — definitely the most flavorful mexican rice I’ve had! Again, everything about my plate just seemed so freshly cooked and bountiful. Can’t find a thing to complain about. WORTHTHE $! — SALSABAR — there are 3 different types of salsa: creamy cilantro avocado, red, and green. There are also sliced radishes, lemons, and my favorite: pickled carrots/onions/jalapenos! Just enough variety for a self-proclaimed«sauce boss”/“condiment whore» like me to be happy with! LOCATION/PARKING — same strip mall across from the movie theaters, more towards the right side where Carl’s is. Parking should be easy peasy. All this with great, friendly customer service = I will totally come back when I need some taco lovin’. I got my eyes on their $ 1.99 tamales… and fresh juices… TL;DR — excellent quality mexican food for cheap, casual dining. Not life changing, but you’d be happy if you’re a local. Until next time!

They catered a school event and the service and food was amazing. Had three types of meat, steak, chicken. And pastor, and they were all delicious. They were prompt and people were friendly.

Awesome food but the service could be better. My bf and I really liked the tripas burrito and canes a tacos. I had the 2 crunchy taco plate and it was awesome! The service was nice and friendly but the food came out a bit slow. Prices are also very reasonable for what you get. I will definitely be back!

I have been craving for some tamales for weeks and Unilocal sent me to this small Mexican market/food court just in the corner of West Covina Edwards. The exterior of the market is like a ghetto liquor store, however inside look so much better when you see people are enjoying food here. I ordered a beef tamale, horchata and a fish taco to go, and it only costed me less than $ 6. Tamale was alright but fish taco was the best I have ever had in the area. The workers at the cashier and grocery are super friendly, they greet me when I walk in and out. Definitely will be back soon.

I waited 20 minutes for a «chamango» after I ordered it. No one was there, just me waiting. After I got the attention of someone I was being charged again, I had to tell the lady I paid the guy already. The chamango was not good at all, tasted watered down.

Since coming here for taco meat I’ve been coming back. Very happy with their service and what they have to offer. Taco meat was great. Ordered some tilapia for dinner tonight. Initially I got the tilapia confused w the Milanesa and the nice guy over the counter asked if I wanted my tilapia breaded. He breaded it in about 10 min and it was no additional cost. Love this place. He also mentioned next time I can call in the order so I don’t have to wait.

Dang this place is good! Al pastor is none too heavy, spiced nicely and cooked perfectly. Carnitas was the real standout here; rich and seasoned perfectly, skin left on for some wonderful textures. Sopes are ridiculously good! Perfectly thick and loaded with delicious veggies and cotija. Asada cooked and seasoned perfectly. Tacos are not too heavy and the tortillas are the perfect body and elasticity. Beans and rice are very good, something I can be pretty picky about as many places phone it in. Tortas are loaded, fresh and filling. So much more to try, so little time! Get the chorizo and eggs! Dang! Not too greasy and perfect with their beans and rice and some fresh corn tortillas. Chamango is powerful! Side note salsas are very good but that smokey dark red salsa is where it’s at!

I come here at least 2 – 3 times a week and the reason being is that they serve AUTHENTIC Mexican food, homemade as its gonna get to say the least. Everything on their menu is good, especially their shrimp tacos and Cotel de camaron, YESSS, shrimp cocktail is BOMB!!! Every bite has a shrimp in it. My other usual is chilaquiles with queso fresco on the side. Their carnitas is delicious in a torta or burrito too. Like I said, I come here cause I enjoy a good homemade dish and since my Mothers passing, this is the next closest thing to her cooking.

Thank you for showing me this hidden gem, my fellow Unilocalers! I was craving chilaquiles and this place totally hit the spot! The portions were big enough to share, it fed myself and my parents. We liked the fact that it’s not salty and you can tell its home made by the quality of the sauce. I chose the red sauce for my chilaquiles. The prices are really reasonable. Not gonna lie, I might be back there tomorrow to try other items!

I found this place when searching«best menudo in west covina» and it did not disappoint! I took an empty pot in and paid $ 21 to get it filled. Not a bad price! I came in on a Sunday morning to get breakfast for the family, I ordered about 5 different plates and the menudo. The food was absolutely delicious and was actually authentic mexican food! I usually don’t enjoy eating beans unless in a burrito or in a taco but rarely do I eat beans alone and I found myself scraping the plate clean! The menudo was a good as we hoped! It was a darker flavorful meundo.. just like my family loves! The only reason I am giving 4 stars is because I tried to call in my order and no one answered, I took a chance and came in anyways. The store and restaurant were mostly empty. From the moment I ordered to the moment I got my food it was a about a 50 minute wait. Most of the time I was alone in there so I didn’t understand why I waited so long. Besides the wait, the food was absolutely delicious and we will be coming back soon in hopes the wait is not nearly as long. Glad we found this little hole in the wall!

Not just a market. They serve homemade Mexican food here as well. I love the nachos, bean n cheese & cocido here. All fresh and taste great. Very delicious and real. Cashier is very sweet and kind to everyone. I highly recommend this spot next to Tina’s Tavern across from the Lakes. Prices are reasonable too. Love this spot!

I was looking for some good mexican food since I was getting little tired of my typical spots. The service was amazing. I had the nachos and a tostada. Both great. Made to order and this place has great mexican food. It’s homemade food at its best!!! You might think you’re in the wrong spot but looks are definitely deceiving

Wow came for breakfast based on Unilocal reviews; and I gotta say it was the best authentic fresh homemade Mexican food I’ve had in a long time! We tried the menudo(yummy), chilaquilles w eggs(awesome), 2 tacos — Asada and Pastor. Excellent and full of meat!, one beef tamale and two coffees! Everything for 23.00!

I was looking for some homemade breakfast and finally found a place worth writing a review for — The service was superb! Had the chilaquiles with egg, beans and rice — this place is by far the best Mexican food I’ve ever had. It’s homemade food at its best!!! Don’t let the look fool you! This place isn’t your typical Mexican market!

Went out last night and drank almost to oblivion, and my friend hands me a taco. A TACO. UNO. ONE. who eats one taco?! So today, I’ve been craving tacos all morning, and took myself to El Pilon Market thanks to Unilocal. Had the pastor(pork) and asada(beef) tacos and they were muy delicioso! Friend had the cabeza(beef cheek/head) burrito, and she said it was really good. I took a couple bites, it was good but I’m a taco girl. It’s not as good as King taco IMO, but this place is still pretty solid. They have great service too, very friendly. I will definitely be back!
