This place is amazing and the setting is cute– perfect for dates and family outings! Their fries and rices are one of the best I’ve ever tasted, but they’re a bit pricey. They have great service and is right next to the Edwards Movie Theatre. I’ll definitely be back!

Food was great, service was great! Spicy tuna nachos — MUSTGET! Everything on it was amazinggg. The chips, the sauce, the spicy tuna… YUMM! Wings — The garlic soy was pretty good but I wish it was slightly more flavored. I also got the sriracha honey flavor which was pretty good too Kimchi fried rice — I’m personally not a fan of kimchi, but it tasted pretty good. I wish the portion was bigger I will definitely be back for more of that spicy tuna nachos!

Can’t go wrong with the joint tacos here. It’s so juicy and delicious. Another one of my favorites is the bacon fried rice and add an egg on top! This place has also super bomb fries and chicken wings. Fried to perfection!

I really like this place. Inexpensive, clean, good portions, variety, spicy, ample parking. Did I mention inexpensive? And we got a groupon! Greatly appreciated in a food court where there is barely any restaurants at all. Come on west covina! You’ve got a tv show now!

I am a fried rice fanatic, so because I was in the area, I Unilocaled«fried rice» and this place came up so I gave it a try. Bacon fried rice– yuck. Too much garlic, even though I told the girl, «easy on the garlic». I could not put enough pepper on the rice to drown it out. But on the flip side, there were sizable pieces of bacon. Wings– if I just ordered the wings this place would have received five stars. The breading was perfectly crispy on the Red Rooster sauce wings.(Siracha ?) They were also perfectly spicy. All it needed was some Japanese rice and the meal would have been perfect. Next time I will order the wings to go and make myself some rice– at home. I would go back to try the other items. But not the bacon fried rice. Oh yeah, the server cleaned up this table and the mom/baby girl came back from the restroom. Mom was upset because she said she told the girl, but they got a whole new order. The girl was very apologetic. Also, if you pay by credit card/debit, they kinda guilt you into tipping even though you walk up to order. Although you are served your food… It isn’t quite the same as full table service. There are 15%, 20%, 25% and other options for tip, but the girl is waiting for your signature/pin… Pressure!!! I am not sure of the tip protocol if you walk up to order, but they deliver your food to the table. It isn’t such a big deal, but just don’t want to feel pressured.

Everytime we go, it’s stellar. The service is great, always asking if we need anything, making sure we’re comfortable. The food is beyond awesome as well, my fiancée loves the bacon fried rice, I usually try something new everytime. The joint fries are awesome! Now that we live across the street I have a feeling we’re gonna be there a lot more often! Hah But they also do the meal for meal program where every meal we buy they provide a meal for children in countries of need, it’s truly amazing what these guys are doing and really commendable! This alone keeps us coming back! Thanks everyone at the Far East joint for making some great food and being great people

Tested out this place for the first time its pretty hidden and in a dead area in my opinion of West Covina, but the food was amazing. Tasted the lunch special joint tacos and fries and ordered the spicy tuna nachos the food was great with customer service up to par. I would recommend this place to anyone since the food was pretty amazing and tasty.

I ordered to go so I can’t really give a raiting on the customer service or for anything else so this is really a review JUST for the burger I got. Joint burger: korean beef, kimchi, onions, cheese, lettuce and spicy aioli. Overall tasted solid but there was nothing really popping out. And in the end it left me craving something more. Although the burger was nicely put together I can’t justify paying $ 9 for it. Just seems way too expensive for what it is.

how it works: come in. find a seat. order at the counter. if you order a fountain drink then fill up your cup. go back to your seat and the food will come out to your table. ordered: *vietnamese saltado– two words«must order!» this dish was definitely a hit in all the right taste bud senses! this dish doesn’t totally remind me of the peruvian lomo saltado but its a great twist on the infamous lomo saltado with a vietnamese twist. flavorful and just plain good! *joint tacos-loved the sauce on the joint tacos. perfectly portioned meaning enough meat for each bite of your taco. *carne asada fries-thinking of this makes my mouth water! portion size is great for sharing. carne asada was flavorful. i loved the guacamole. mix everything together and you got yourself a mouthful of deliciousness. great customer service. staff came by to check in with us on how the food was. would i come back? heck yes! the food tasted great and i am definitely curious on how everything else on the menu tastes like. finally something delicious on the east side of the 10 freeway! food that was ordered like i mentioned above were pretty tasty but a bit heavy and carb overload. but if you love carbs like me then you definitely are in for a treat! decent prices and great portion sizes. tips: *serves alcohol. fountain drinks. *yelp check in for a discount *same plaza as the edwards movie theater. *shared parking spaces with other businesses. *indoor seating only. *they have TVs. *accepts cash and credit cards. *restroom available for customers.

We got the $ 9 for $ 15 of food groupon and decided to try this place out. We got the joint fries and fried rice which were really good. It was also happy hour so we got a pitcher of 805 for $ 13, not bad at all. The weird thing was they asked us to tip before the meal when we ordered the food instead of at fb end of the meal. Don’t get me wrong, the service was great and the staff was friendly, but we know it can kind of be a gamble to tip before actual service. Other than that weird rid bit, we liked the place a lot and will be coming back!

While visiting my friend in the West Convina area, she took me and my other friend here for dinner one night. If you’re from the Bay Area(or Fremont or Newark), this is similar to Sia’s in Newark. It’s basically Asian fusion with a slight focus on the Korean side, in my opinion. In Far East Joint, you basically seat yourself, go up to order and they’ll bring you your food. I ordered the Joint Fried Rice, Wings, and Spicy Tuna Nachos to share. The food came out at a reasonable time and the food looked pretty great! The Joint Fried Rice is basically kimchi fried rice. It was tasty but it wasn’t as spicy as the traditional kimchi fried rice. But it was fine though. The wing flavor I chose was the Honey Sriracha since my friend was raving about that. It has a nice kick but it was more on the honey side, which I like. Other than that, the wings were pretty average in my opinion. The spicy tuna nachos were pretty decent as well. It wasn’t really what we expected since they were more like pita bread than actual chips. It was an interesting twist though. The spicy tuna was good but I don’t think it’s something you need to order it every time. Overall, I had a great time here dining with my friends. The staff was nice. The food was great. It was a nice experience in general. P. S. There’s a discount(10% I think) with a Unilocal check-in!

Any place that has a super friendly welcoming staff and good food has my 5 stars. My first experience at this place was very pleasant. Walked in and a gentleman greeted us, helped us find a seat and explained how it worked. It’s a very simple process, order at the counter, take a seat and they’ll bring the food to you. The food came out pretty quick. Ordered the kimchi fried rice, garlic soy and Sriracha honey wings and the spam and egg sliders. My favorites were the kimchi fried rice and Sriracha honey wings. I would definitely come back and would recommend this place to others.

One word: Awesome. This is a small hole in the wall located in West Covina near the theater. My boyfriend and I were starving so we ordered about 4 things between the both of us. But everything was amazing. Chicken wings 5 stars. So crispy and full of flavor. Chicken Katsu Curry 5 stars. The chicken was actually chicken, not just all batter. And the curry was on point. The carne asada tacos were also really good, not my favorite thing that nice but they were still delicious. The best thing was the joint fried rice. THEBEST. I crave this all the time. I would recommend getting this if you cannot decide what to get. It is like a mixture between a fast food joint and a dine in restaurant. The staff was super friendly and the atmosphere was very nice. I will definitely be back!

Was a little underwhelmed by the food. Spicy Tuna nachos — The spicy tuna tasted a bit off and too mushy. The nachos were a lot soggier than I expected. I think I might’ve enjoyed this more without the sauce drizzled over. Carne Asada fries — Nothing special. Tasted like your average carne asada fries Joint tacos — This was probably the best part of the meal. The meat was very tender and the flavor combined very nicely with the sauces. They sell a wide variety of alcohol here. However it was really dead inside on a Friday night. Actually the whole mall was so dead on a Friday night. Like crickets were chirping. Is this what West Covina is like?

This place was good! We were looking for food and the dasuan fusion caught our eye. We had the island fries(in n out animal Style tbh) and the kimchi rice but with salmon along with chicken katsu. It was all delicious, quick and good service. I also got the mango drink, I would say skip it. It was too tart too sweet.

This place is definitely good with their Asian fusion. For any burger fans, definitely try the Joint Burger if you’re not afraid of a little spice. The burger consists of Korean Beef, spicy aioli, kimchi, American cheese, & lettuce(but the lettuce was kind of like a salad). Literally the flavor of the food burst into my mouth; I chose well. The other foods were kind of ehh, sadly. Also, the chicken wings were approximately $ 1/$ 1.50 for each individual wing! Like 6 pc was $ 6.95. I would probably only come back for that Joint Burger, because that burger was scrumptious!

Good food but too expensive for what you get. Perusing the menu, the dishes sounded a little uninspired. My friend’s fried rice was $ 10: the same price for half the portion at any Chinese restaurant. My other friend’s curry fries were also in the $ 8 – 10 range, and it was topped with gelatinous boxed curry and Taco Bell/Dell Taco-tier cheese blend. For what it’s worth, our portions were filling with drinks. Service involves paying at the front counter and bringing the food to your table. They do bus your table at the end though. Parking is ample in the Lakes Plaza. The lots and parking structure are oddly sectioned in one area opposite of Edward’s Cinema and the nearby restaurants. DRINKSORDERED — Hana peach sake($ 10.95/bottle). It was smooth, with a light peach flavor that did not taste too artificial. We each had like 3 or 4 sake cups worth, so it was a tasty and inexpensive way to get buzzed. ENTREESORDERED — Quesadilla Special($ 6.95), which comes with chicken or asada beef; extra $ 1 to add bulgogi. Of course I got the bulgogi. I was pleased that they didn’t skimp on the filling. Chunks of thinly chopped kimchi, sweet beef bulgogi and yellow mexican cheese blend were practically spilling out. The quesadilla was served with delicious sauce which I think was a sesame sriracha aioli. It had chunks of what looked llike chili, but it wasn’t very spicy. The sesame flavor was fantastic and brought it all together. MINORSEATINGWARNING This is not a problem with the service. All employees were actually very nice. If you sit at the wooden bench booths, watch out for any gaps between the wooden panels. My purse’s chain strap fell through and got stuck! I struggled for ten minutes pulling it out, worried that it was going to break the chain! Then, I rested my back against the wall, which had uneven spots poking through the surface, and damaged my fragile woven cardigan. Threads ripped out at my shoulders. I felt like the unfortunate character in a comedy skit on TV.

Food: I’m a huge fan of Asian fusion, so I’ve had this place bookmarked for awhile now. We ordered the Joint Fries(because it was one of the highlights, Viet Lomo, and their Garlic Soy wings. Joint Fries were okay, but I’m not a huge fan of Nacho cheese. The bulgogi and kimchi was good, but the cheese really took away from my satisfaction with the dish. This is definitely an appetizer worth sharing since it’s heavy and it’s a pretty good sized portion. I really liked the Viet Lomo, which is an asian twist to the Peruvian dish Lomo Saltado. The Garlic Soy wings were a huge disappointment for me. The wings were small and didn’t have any kind of garlic soy taste at all. I probably wouldn’t order their wings again. Environment/Ambiance: The restaurant is located inside the Edwards plaza, which is a mistake I made driving around. The place is small, but not tiny. You order at the counter and take your seat wherever you’d like. There’s televisions on every wall so you won’t miss any of the games going on Service: Service was good, the workers were pretty laid-back and cool. We were the only party there and most of the workers were on their lunch break. Can’t really complain since they were pretty prompt and checked on us throughout our meal. Tips: To be honest I’m a little torn about my review. Mostly because I had such high expectations and I wasn’t really wowed. But, try anything! It’s not a huge menu, but everything looks pretty good. I don’t know about those wings, but I’d probably try the Joint Fries again… without the cheese.

Let me just say, great customer service and the chef was really nice. But that’s majority the stars. The food itself was not worth it and the most used condiment is Sriracha. For two people and being the only ones in the restaurant on a tuesday night, we were able to converse with the staff and found a strand of hair in the fries– was readily replaced, just wished the food was better and I wished i was prepared to spend $ 50 :X We ordered: — 12 wings》sirarcha honey and lemon pepper. Good crisp, the sirarcha honey was not spicy, asked to make it spicier and it turned out like Asian mole. — Joint burger 》would be better if there was a patty, but basically brioche bun with kbbq meat(bulgogi) which came out a little dry, kimchi didn’t stick, wasn’t even sure if there was an egg in it? Overall, did not meet my expectation. — Spicy tuna fries》fries with cheese, Sriracha, and gravy? Topped with a heaping scoop of cold(fresh from the fridge) mush spicy tuna. — OG michelada》eh, over welming tabasco — Mikes michelada》better, recommend. I think the waitress misheard us and made our drinks extremely spicy when all we wanted was spicy wings. The rim was spicy as well, seemed like they added cayenne pepper? Should’ve just told her to use chamoy. Overall, 10% off with check in, took off $ 4.5, but since you order and pay first before you get the food, it also mean you tip before you know who you’re getting. Was not expecting to pay this much and was just as disappointed that the food did not meet our expectation. we left extremely disappointed, dissatisfied, and dehydrated in realization that everything was high in sodium.

Thank you Unilocal for introducing me to another great place to eat. We were shopping at the mall and had to look on Unilocal for something close by to eat when we first came upon this restaurant. You order first for your food at the counter. It is open seating. They bring the food to you. I highly recommend any of the dishes with spicy tuna. My go to is the spicy tuna bowl since it has rice and greens. I’m usually a bit more pickier when it comes to spicy tuna. My favorite spicy tuna roll would be from Noshi in LA(by far). Anyways their spicy tuna is so good. It’s mushy deliciousness. It’s the #1 reason I come back. Their joint fries is addicting and delicious too. At first I wondered if I would even like having Kim chi in it but it surprising tasted good altogether. We also got one of the burgers before. It was good but not that memorable as the other two dishes I mentioned. The service is great and they’re helpful if you have questions. There’s plenty of parking at the parking structure. It’s closer to the movie theater if you have a hard time finding it. Don’t forget to check in on Unilocal for 10% off your order!

I just want to start off by saying that this restaurant has it all! After spotting this place while going to eat sushi a few weeks ago I made a mental note that I have to try it. As my boyfriend entered the restaurant we were greeted with the friendliest smile and told we could sit anywhere. When I first looked at the menu I was a little skeptical because I was not sure what half of the items were but nevertheless I am always down to try new things. We placed our order to go and the server offered us complimentary drinks until our order was ready, such a sweetheart! We ordered, joint fried rice, island fries, and the joint burger. Our order was out within 10−15mins, which was really quick! The food was amazing! I mean melt in your mouth delicious! Overall this place is excellent for any kind of day you are having! Customer service was A1! I will definitely be making a trip back’

Excellent customer service, delicious food(I would definitely recommend the Joint Kimchi Fried Rice or the Joint Fries, you can’t go wrong with bulgogi) and awesome atmosphere! If you’re in the neighborhood you should drop by, it’s right next to the West Covina Edwards Theatre, you won’t miss it. If you are hungry and want to catch today’s sports game then this is the place to be!

I enjoy a bowl of rice and wings. It’s not that hard to keep me happy. THISPLACEDOESMORETHANTHAT! This place gives me wings and fries, then it gives me an insanely awesome kim chee fries that can be boldly standing up to the flavors relative to the ingenious chef of the another fusion like restaurant of the name Eat Chego, from Master and famous chef Roy Choi. Wow that was a lot of wierd words in a sentence. Hopefully it’s not too much for you to handle. Anyway, this place offers an array of food, and I generalize it to the things that I eat here. I eat the WINGS, FRIEDRICE, and FRIES. It is sweet and simple and I can go here repeatedly just for those things, and they seem to offer it every time with class! I tend to be more of an adventurous person when it comes to wing flavors, but I do always like to keep some wings in the ones that I know that are good. The ones that I know that are good are the Soy Garlic Wings. They are done pretty well and I well have that in large plates. Other things I do want to try is their new garlic Parmesan. I have tried other flavors but their names escape me as their named aren’t always so common. Must be the Far East Mentality.(sarcasm) I have tried their Fried Rice and I can tell that they are good, but they are not so much a great match with the chicken for some reason. I would rather have simple white rice and wings. The tastes bursting into my tongue are already too much to handle in the fried rice. None the less, this place is awesome sauce and boss all at once. I am a repeat offender of going here when I am around and I plan to visit more in the future. Thank you!
