I have been to mixed several times. I do not go to mixed because it’s quality of food, but because it’s close to where I live. After grabbing lunch there today, I was disappointed by the food. My salad, alone, cost me over $ 5 and it was practically lettuce and a scoop of bean&corn salsa(aka the southwest harvest salad). I would recommend for others to go to hyvee and get their salad bar. You’ll get more of your monies worth there and leave much more satisfied.

I just cannot recommend a place that has such a bad ordering and fulfillment system. It is slow and inefficient and doesn’t improve. Three people in line means 15 minutes at best. The cashier has to ask what you ordered and then the people making the food have to stop to tell him. They don’t have sides ready to go. They don’t know who ordered what when the items are ready. It is just a mess. Food is good, but really who cares! That’s not that hard. Again, this is a good concept that is poorly executed.

Visiting family from California and we dropped by this place. My mom loved the Caribbean crunch salad. I had the opah and is was okay. It had black olive instead of kalamata olives which was disappointing. Serving sizes are huge but overall I was underwhelmed by my salad. My brother had a wrap that looked tastey

It’s just ok. Nothing to write home about or admit to anyone that I came here on a Friday night.

Not over or under impressed. Map had location wrong(it’s close to jethros waukee) Salad portion size was good, kids meals need work. Service wasn’t too speedy and for the price not sure I’d return.

So I’ve been in twice. The first experience was certainly lacking but the second was a pretty standard experience. For a first timer the line and choices were intimidating. The lack of hand held menus so you don’t gum up the line was none existent. I picked up a gluten free menu and then was chastised for it. Also they were out of breadsticks that day. I guess a salad comes with chips or a pickle or breadstick. They kept pushing the side options almost to the point of being aggressive. I would have taken normal sandwich bread but that was never offered and honestly it just got ridiculous. I know the guy was being helpful and wanting me to be happy but the more he pushed the more catty I felt and I almost left. The point of me ordering a salad was to NOT get chips and«bad for me» sides. The whole situation was awkward. That being said– the salad was tasty and the price was right. My second experience was uneventful and down right enjoyable. I’ll be back because it’s close to my work and it is delicious. But could stand some tweaking to be more successful. I would totally recommend it– I’m sure it was a one-off experience.

I was very impressed with Mixed! Not only was the food delicious(I had the club panini & lasagna soup) the staff was extremely friendly. Will definitely be back and highly recommend! Great find for a fresh and healthy option.

I was super excited to try this place because they advertised on the radio so well. I had heard their commercial at least twice a day while it was on the air. I live really far away so took advantage of being on that side of town to stop in. It was about 1 pm and there was no one in line, which I’m thankful for because there are a ridiculous amount of options. A man met me at the door, I would assume he is either the owner or someone who is very knowledgable about the menu because he explained the VERYLARGE(not just in size) menu that is on the wall. I was overwhelmed from the beginning. They offer Panini’s, wraps, salads and soup. I chose the ½ salad, ½ wrap, easy enough. The process was tiring, way too many options and things to substitute and the options were all bland or cheap ingredients(The chicken they put on the salads or sandwiches remind me of Subway chicken just rubbery and tasteless). It felt more like a grocery store salad bar. I’m disappointed because I LOVE the concept but I have a feeling it’s going to really struggle to stay open.

Like Amber K. we also tried Mixed with a buy one, get one free meal coupon but still paid over $ 12 for two sandwiches and 2 sodas. With Jimmy John’s now open next door this place is in trouble, in my opinion. While both of our sandwiches were pretty good, the toppings and meat were very limited and it took way longer than it should have considering the place was near empty when we ordered. Additionally we were never offered(or given) a side and when my husband asked he was met by a confused look from the employee. Would like nothing more than businesses in this area to do well — definitely disappointed.
