Adamah CSA West Hartford

I never purchased from the actual CSA, but I am intimately familiar with the passion, dedication, and skill that goes into the wonderful produce and products from the Adamah-​niks. This is a Jewish agricultural fellowship that teaches organic, sustainable farming techniques within a pluralistic and integrative context of Jewish spiritual practice and formation. The directors of the program are genuine, authentic, salt-​of-​the-​earth people, and I wholeheartedly recommend their various squashes, eggplants, tomatoes, and pickles. Delicious, flavorful, juicy, pure, wholesome, and sweet, and one of the things I miss most about working at the retreat center. While they do not use pesticides or conventional methods of IPM, the greens are surprisingly not as infested as you’d think, and with a proper washing process and bedikah, can be used for kosher consumption. If you live in the area, you owe it to yourself and your family to patronize these idealistic, trail-​blazing Jewish farmers, who truly are changing the world, one pickle at a time.
