Walked out there was a live cockroach in the salad! Apparently there was a manager didn’t even bother to come out to apologize.

Are you sure this is classified as mediterranean? Coz this tastes an awful lot like Indian cuisine… May be its a fusion… Whatever it is, it was delicious. Crazy though, coz I was arguing with my husband about not going to an Indian restaurant while he wanted to. So we picked Mediterranean … So, He got«Indian» and I got«not Indian».It’s funny the way things work out… We were served lentil soup on the house… which was ok… Bland, but thats how it should be. I couldn’t have more than 2 spoon full. We ordered«Open kababs» …it comes with a skewer(2 for dinner portions) of grilled meat with a side of bread and salad… Be sure u eat them rt away while they are hot coz the meat tends to get tough otherwise. The nut curry veg/meat is a tomato-cashew based gravy with whole cashew pieces… is so yummy also comes with a side of pita bread(just like Indian nan) and rice… absolutely delicious. Right portions size and fairly priced… I recommend the kababs.

Surprisingly pleasant! We went here for a quick dinner and we each both opted for a kebab(one lamb, the other being beef) Kebabs normally come with fries, but we were able to substitute something else. I opted for a salad and my buddy went for hummus and pita. For less than $ 10, the kebabs were tasty. I liked how we were able to customize them too(you can specify how well-done you would like the meat, as well as what sauce it comes with) In addition to daily lunch specials, they also randomly do Karaōke Friday and Saturday nights at 930pm. Maybe that will be my next adventure.

I really like the setup inside. Nice bar, nice dining area. However, I went for happy hour a couple months back. I ordered a Bud, came with a dirty glass, and a dirty reusable coaster. Lamb katti roll was good, chicken kabob bland. menu seems a bit stretched all over, seems as if it’s multi cultural but they don’t have one down pat. All in all, nice restaurant and people, but wouldn’t go back. If they can’t clean a glass and afford disposable coasters, it makes me wonder.

I was craving Tangiers but wanted a cocktail to go with my food. I checked on Unilocal and this was a new spot to me on here and it looked great. We headed over and there were only 2 other people in the entire place. The bartender immediately handed us menus and asked if we wanted a drink. She answered all of our questions before we ordered. The food was fabulous! We tried the ground beef wrap which had melted cheese in it and came with delicious fries along with the lamb kabob meal. The meat was juicy and cooked perfectly. We tried the lime basil martini and it was great. We would definitely be back! Great find in elmwood

Delicious spur of the moment Saturday dinner! Three of us descended upon Elmwood Kabob for a hearty meal last night and I’ve gotta say, it was pretty satisfying. While the menu is definitely scattered(a mix of Middle Eastern, Indian, and Chinese dishes), the lamb wraps and and kabobs were terrific. Two of my dining companions started with the papaya salad; it wasn’t your usual shredded papaya/fish sauce combo, but instead featured feta, cucumber, honey and mint. My lamb kebab wrap was TERRIFIC and I love all of the sauce options. While I chose classic tzatziki, the restaurant offers spicy aioli, Tikka Masala, red hot chili, & coconut curry. Fries were unexpectedly delicious and tikka masala was a welcome dipping sauce!

I can’t help but say that I’m just downright surprised by the results here. While the bar area is nice, the dining area seems a bit less cozy, leading me to believe initially that this was primarily a place for drinks, and the menu was an afterthought. Wrong, wrong, wrong again. We had a great meal. When we asked for the lamb kabobs, we were shocked that they asked how we wanted them cooked. Only thing better than kabobs, medium-rare kabobs, baby! Along with the various sauces and breads around the table, it was quite a treat — more than I had initially thought. They have karaōke in case you’re interested in that sorta stuff(guilty as charged). Elmwood is definitely up and coming — who knows, maybe someday they’ll have an exaggerated enough sense of social consciousness to earn their own Whole Foods!

Another«Groupon brought me here» trip… Elmwood Kabob is a wonderful addition to this emerging section of West Hartford. My husband and I went here for a late Saturday night dinner. We shared a lamb kabob with rice pilaf and a chicken tikka masala; perfectly spiced and reasonably priced. I would say the star of the meal was the lamb kabob! Definitely a place to comeback to!

This place is my jam. It’s been my Friday night hangout for over a year because it has a fabulous karaōke night hosted by DJ Meric. You actually often get to sing a lot! Drinks are inexpensive and they carry my favorite beers(Allagash White and Shipyard Pumpkinhead in the fall). Food is inexpensive too and they serve really late! I highly recommend the gyro, kabob dishes, chicken wings(with coconut curry or various other tasty dipping sauces). It’s a safe place. And if you’re a regular, it’s a place where everyone will definitely know your name.

Love the chicken kabob meal with rice. They give you a salad and delicious bread. I like going here, the atmosphere is casual and staff is friendly. The prices are very reasonable compared to other places in the area.

Incredibly flavorful food that ranges from Mediterranean to South and East Asian cuisine. We ordered the chicken kabob dinner — which came with a coconut curry — and chicken nut curry. The chicken kabob was exceptionally well-seasoned and perfectly cooked, and the peppers and onions came with a nice grilled char. We also enjoyed both curries, which were of medium spiciness(just as we ordered), and the nut curry in particular had great depth of flavor. The dinner also came with plenty of rice, warm pita bread, and a generous salad. We were one of the last tables of the evening, and for both the food and attentive service to be on point even so late at night speaks well of the restaurant. We have yet to try any of their noodle dishes — or sample the bar — but are looking forward to our next visit.

I placed my order online and received poor and unacceptable customer service when I arrived at the restaurant. I was sent a confirmation e-mail 25 minutes prior to my arrival so I assumed they received my order. They weren’t even aware of my order so I had to place it AGAIN in person. 5 minutes after placing my order in person, I received a follow-up notification stating my order was cancelled! Since they never answered their phone while my boyfriend and I waited, I believe the online service requires phone confirmation before an order is officially submitted. The whole staff seemed terribly mismanaged and poorly trained. I expected some sort of compensation for this inconvenience. In addition to our long wait, the bag busted and food spilled all over my car. The cover on my SOUP wasn’t securely fastened. The food that didn’t ruin my car mats wasn’t even that great. Don’t waste your time and money here.

My BFF complains about their food everytime we go there. First time it was an overcooked well done lampchop when he ordered medium rare. Then recently, he complained about their steak which he claimed to taste like firewood…(don’t ask me why he knows what a piece of wood taste like). Other than the food, I thought the place is quite nice. There’s karaōke if you are into that. And I really like their rice pudding. I’m so sad that they cut down on the size from last time I visited :(. I always drink it up very fast. The servers and staff are also super friendly. I think I’ll continue to come here just for their rice pudding.

Nice place but really slow service. This is my second time here and i think no one should wait 25 – 30 min to eat chicken kebab. Rest is fine, nice location, restrooms clean. Servers ok.

This place advertises itself as «Grill and Bar» on the outside, but the menu inside states that it is called a «Kabob & Bar». This is deceiving, but it’s a good marketing scheme(general public/non-foodies are more likely to enter) The food was very good. You choose a meat and a sauce and that’s all that there is to it! We ordered beef curry kabobs and chicken with spicy aioli kabobs. You get fries or rice on the side and a salad to start. They also bring you pits chips. Everything was great and we will definitely go back again. The floor might be slippery though, be careful!

$ 5 Friday margaritas and karaōke really hit the spot. The meat on my friend’s kabob, however, had a seriously odd texture and look too it(I took a glance and declined a taste) and sent him running to the bathroom as soon as we had finished our meal. My boyfriend’s curry was pretty good! But… the naan accompanying it was clearly defrosted and not fresh and I questioned whether it had been heated in a microwave(conclusion: very likely, but couldn’t say for sure). But damn the drinks are strong and cheap, the karaōke hilarious, I was pleased with our experience here. But make your naan from scratch or at least heat it in an oven so it doesn’t have a plastic texture! And the meat should be either fresher, of better quality, or both. I would come for drinks and fun with a group.

My man & I have been here 5 or 6 times in the past few months, and we have loved everything we’ve eaten and have always gotten great service. The décor is deceiving — looks like a generic ‘80s restaurant that is really more of a bar. And maybe that’s why it has often been sadly quiet when we visited. But service is always attentive, bordering on doting. Portions are generous but not obnoxiously large, and the prices are more than reasonable. The waiting time has always seemed appropriate, as dishes are made to order. The only dish that disappointed was a recent fish masala, only because the cream was heavy for my liking. But I should have thought to order it light, as each dish has always been customized to our taste. We hope this restaurant makes it, as it is a reliable place to get a meal that is not only delicious, but nourishing.

A friend and I stopped at in for dinner on a whim on a Friday night. The place was surprisingly quiet, large and had a nice atmosphere with a big bar area. We sat at a hightop table in the bar. For dinner, I order chicken kabobs which came with my choice of sauce(I did tzatziki), rice, salad and pita. The pita was warm and delicious. The kabob featured large chunks of all white meat chicken that was very well cooked. The salad had one tomato and one olive, a little bit measly but it was ok… I just needed the veggies. My friend got a spinach and lamb dish that she enjoyed as well. Service was good, but we had no less than three different people helping us. It seemed strange since the place was so quiet. It took a little while to get and pay our bill, but we didn’t mind. I will probably go back or maybe try them for take out. The lunch menu seems to be very reasonably priced but dinner seemed a little high for kabobs.
