Always quick, they make a point of knowing your name and what your preferences are, and always greet you with friendly faces when you pick up. If you’re looking for a pizza place where you get a consistently good pie with fresh toppings nice and hot from the oven for an excellent price this is the place. I’m surprised there aren’t more reviews on here. I very infrequently review restaurants but this spot has impressed me every time I order from here.

I recently ordered a few large pizzas from Elmwood pizza and the service, value, and taste were all a solid 4 star rating! Back in the day Elmwood pizza was my go-to place for a meatball parm grinder. It wasn’t until I ordered the pizzas that I was reminded of them. I’m so excited they are back on my radar! the pizza is greek style — square, a bit thick, and saucy. pick-up was easy, the cost was the best around for large pizzas, and the quality was wonderful. yea!

The pizza here is fantastic and the service was great. Can’t wait to go back again to try a grinder.

Very nice family, great food! We love their pizzas, salads, grinders… everything is good :) Prices are reasonable for the portions. Great quick option — food is usually ready in 20 minutes.

Hands down some the #BestPizza you could have in the Hartford area. This family is the greatest they never forget you and everyone is always smiling and full of conversation. I moved out of state and came back a year later and they never missed a beat. Wish I could them up and take with me to the dirty south

I love this place. I have been going to this pizza place since I was young. My father use to always get their grinders and I would share a sausage and pepperoni pizza with my family. The food tastes just as good now as it did then. The family that owns the shop is very friendly and takes the time to actually make you feel at home. There are many pizza places in West Hartford but I always find myself coming back here. Especially, for a big fight or sporting event, i must have Elmwood take-out! Suggested items: Grinders Pizza(my favorite is Sausage and Pepperoni) Hot Wings(Medium) Definitely give this place a shot!

Huge and filling salad, small is big enough for two people. The pizza is delicious, crust is thin, very crispy and full of flavor, can really taste the olive oil. One stop will definitely have you coming back for more!

I know it’s family owned and a small local business. At the same time, I feel the need to be honest here. It’s a pizza joint. There are things you expect from a pizza… the pizza needs to be excellent and a few staples can’t miss. Chicken parm is one of them. For $ 10…I was served pre-frozen, generic breaded, processed fried chicken on soggy bread with tasteless sauce and too much cheese. Between the mounds of cheese and processed chicken, it felt like hot rubber in my mouth. Bad food is one thing. Fake food is another. If you enjoy the food here… all the power to you. Just know it’s not fresh. It’s chicken I can get at burger king…

Sometimes the best pizza comes from those little hole in the wall places. I don’t expect a good pizza place to be fancy. It can even be a bit shabby and I don’t mind. But I do expect good pizza. In the case of Elmwood Pizza, I stopped in for 2 slices during a particularly busy night. I asked for it «to go» and waited while they reheated the slices in the oven. When they pulled out a styrofoam take-out tray, I began to get a little nervous. This ain’t Applebees, you know. Pizza slices should come on a paper plate shoved into a brown paper bag, with a couple of napkins for garnish. Everyone knows that. So when they presented me with the pizza in its little styrofoam container, I could hardly bear to look, and when I did it wasn’t pretty. I had two smallish pizza slices covered with way too much cheese and dripping with grease. There was a puddle on the bottom of the styrofoam container, and even the paper they slid between the slices was absolutely saturated with oil. Being really hungry, I ended up blotting the slices with paper towels and eating them anyway. No, they didn’t give me paper towels, or napkins either for that matter. These came from my kitchen. Meh. So-so pizza. I suppose it was trying to be Greek pizza, but it was just so nondescript I can’t really describe it as anything. Except greasy. So when it comes to those little hole in the wall places, sometimes it’s really just a little hole in the wall.

$ 20 for chicken parm which was 2 breaded cutlets covered in melted cheese on top of over half a pound of pasta, a gigantic calzone that was the size of a small pizza with spinach, sausage, ricotta and mozz. an eggplant parm grinder, a huge salad covered in feta, a small salad and a long roll of garlic bread! THis place is awesome!
