One of the most consistently biased-towards-men departments at any J. Crew, seemingly every visit these days. Back in 2013, around holiday time, you could find some blazers and ties, some of which incorrectly marked down, stacked with whatever deal going on that week and score major deals. Now, there’s barely enough sale items to go around as if clientele will open wallets willingly in Westfarms. Damned be me or anyone to pay hugely-inflated MSRPs without an expected 30% off entire order. Ever since the store was reformatted, the women’s sale area, which is always abundant, now takes up more of the men’s department now as well. Predictably next year, kids and women sections will team up and destroy men’s! Staff is always friendly and accommodating when needed. Compared to those others, this one’s among the smallest, least fulfilling stores that’s easy to walk-in and walk right out, saving my wallet at least.

Got a shirt for X-mas 2012 and had to return it. I am 6’5″ 230 pounds and there XL size might as well have been a medium it was so small. I’ve shopped at J-Crew my whole life, but in the past few years not at all. Not only does this store not carry anything close to an XL in shirts and what not, but they don’t care any pants that are 36×34 or even close to it(my size). Moreover, everything in there is «skinny slim fit» or «ultra skinny slim’ or „urban slim skinny“ or „skinny metrosexual slim“ or „emo skinny ultra slim“. If I was 5’5» and weighed 130 pounds, this store would be great, but I’m not, and a lot of guys also aren’t, so what the hell J-Crew. I wish I could say it’s because I’m out of shape and that’s why I don’t fit into their clothes. But I’m an avid triathlete and run around 20 miles a week, so I consider myself fairly healthy. Boo-urns J-Crew, I’ll take my business elsewhere. Oh. To the a-hole behind the counter who laughed at me when I asked for the shirt in size XXL since the XL I was returning didn’t fit… you work at J-Crew and make $ 10 per hour. I’m glad everything in life is working out for you.

I have been coming to this location on(& off) for almost 20 years. My last trip went very well so I feel the need to share & leave 5 stars. I needed a shirt(& quick!) since I had an event later that night. I perused other shops at West Farms but didn’t find what I was looking for. I popped into J. Crew & poked around a bit. I didn’t want to break the bank or else I would’ve bought quite a few shirts as I’m a big fan of their clothes. I ended up finding the perfect green button down shirt in my size & on sale. Being one who is challenged when it comes to ironing I asked the saleslady who helped me if there was any way to have the shirt pressed. She volunteered to steam it for me & did a pretty good job. She didn’t have to go the extra mile for me but did. As for the store, it is your typical J. Crew retail location. Their clothes seem to have gotten more expensive lately(or I’ve gotten cheaper?) but I am definitely a fan of their brand. They don’t carry too much high end stuff(selvedge denim or Red Wings) but have a pretty good selection. I got lucky with their sale rack but found their offerings a bit weak. Still, I’m willing to over look this for the phenomenal(& almost life saving) service.
