Jo-Di’s

I made an appointment to have a satellite radio system installed on an old but well-​preserved car. It came with special issues, such as the tuner box being in the rear of the car. The people at Jo-Di’s were upfront about the cost of installation, including extra cables needed, and a special input module that would go directly to an unused port on my CD changer, as opposed to the normal FM signal modulator. I came at the prescribed time on the day after Thanksgiving, and they were finished in less than two hours. The technician even gave me a demonstration of how to activate the radio with the custom setup.
Through the wait, there was a steady, diverse stream of new and return customers looking for everything from new sound systems to remote starting systems. The people at Jo-Di’s were confident and knowledgeable, answering every question posed to them. I felt in good hands from the moment I drove in to the time I left, listening to my new satellite radio. I heartily recommend them.

My car stereo broke and I shipped it here to get it fixed. They were very professional and sent me the unit back working perfectly. After it randomly broke a few months later they covered everything under warranty and shipped it back to me at no cost. They are extremely honest and do good work. Strongly recommend!

My experience at Jo-Di’s was absolutely excellent. My CD player failed, and it was less expensive to replace the radio/​CD than repair the original Volvo equipment. Dean guided me through the process and took care of a challenging installation perfectly.
In terms of customer service, the staff at Jo-Di’s went «above and beyond.» I dropped off my car in the morning and bicycled to work. It started raining hard late in the afternoon, and Dean offered to come and pick me up so I wouldn’t get soaked on the way to pick up my car.

I’ve been here a few times over the years and have always been treated well. They are professionals, and they cater to customers’ needs. I’ve only always wanted to enhance the sound quality and consistency of my car stereo, and they never tried to sell me anything more than I needed. They can give you competition sound that will wake up the neighborhood, but they will only give you what you want. Jodi, the person working the counter when I most recently went in, came to my car and sat with me listening to different music and we just had a conversation about the sound I wanted. Afterwards, we went inside and she gave me a lot of options, while trying to find the least expensive way to get the quality I was looking for. She recommended doing it in stages so I wouldn’t spend money on anything I didn’t need. I ended up getting an attachment for my stock head unit, a set of separates and a small self-​amplified sub, which makes every instrument and sound come through clearly and consistently. Pricing is fair, but keep in mind car stereos are luxury goods. I would highly recommend using Jo-Di’s for your car stereo needs. And talk to Jodi!

Went in for a ported enclosure after leaving another audio store took a little while for someone to assist me but I was able to leave with a ported enclosure for about $ 50 less have not had a install from them since 2008 I might go with them for a navigation and back up camera install

Wish I could give a lower rating. I would not recommend using them. I spent over $ 1100 to have a new radio and car starter installed. I was prompt and on time for my appointment, however when I arrived the shop was insanely disorganized and behind even though there was only one other car being worked on. I was told the service would take 4 hours, but took an hour longer. On top of that they did not order the case for the mount and I was told to come back the next day which turned into two days. They also forgot to reconnect my signal lights which I also had to wait two days to have reconnected. I was told not to worry it would be a quick fix that turned into almost an hour. I did not get the level if service for the price I paid and it was more inconvenient for me to have to go back and forth to the shop, especially since they weren’t giving me seniority even though they didn’t finish the work.

Helpful, friendly, and quality, quality work. I was only their just to get my auxiliary port fixed. Pricy but very effective work none the less. Recommended.

I upgraded my car stereo about 2 months ago, I’m very happy with my decision to go with Jo Di’s and not Best Buy, as I originally intended. I felt very comfortable with the individual attention I received and the staff’s level of knowledge and experience; its likely that I wouldn’t have had the same confidence in dealing with a big box store with a high turnover rate. They did a great job in helping me select a stereo, and the total cost was completely reasonable.

I’ve been going here since 1978. I remain a fan.
Skip the big box stores and their high turnover «experts.» Jo-Di’s will get you the right product and install it right. And they have backed up their work whenever I have needed something adjusted.
I just had a new iPhone/​iPod connection put in and the team did a great job. Again, I fussed about how I wanted it installed and again they listened, made suggestions and gave me a finished product that looks great. The price was right.
The techs here know what they are doing and they care about the product.
I have also had convertible top repairs done in the upholstery shop and they were top-​notch, going above and beyond on one project that included removing the remains of a mouse from inside an air conditioning fan housing. Don’t ask.
Jody herself, Dave and Chris were all terrific. As part of this latest purchase, they again went far beyond in helping me diagnose some burned out bulbs in my console.
I waited for the work on the iPhone connection and had a nice lunch next door at East-​West Grill but my time in the waiting area at Jo-Di’s was just fine. They had the radio display on and were playing some great tunes from WWUH — and not so loud that you couldn’t think.

Perhaps you’ve been to a garage where the mechanics are awesome, but you are a little afraid to sit down because the furniture looks greasy? I sound wimpy. well I wear suits and the dry cleaner can’t fix grease. Sorry.
Jo-Di’s is not that bad, it is run by a woman and it is generally tidy, but you can feel that it gives off that vibe. The «We are all about performance, not concerned about vacuuming daily» type of vibe. I stopped in to have some accessories wired into my car. I have been there in the past, and never been dissappointed. Dave, who is often fielding calls and simultaneously working on customer projects, did a nice job modding a mount for me and wiring it in an a very creative way. I spent $ 130. dollars for the work and I am pretty pleased.
While I was there I saw a steady stream of very high end vehicles coming in and out having top of the line gear installed. $ 3,000. Stereo /​DVD on the head rest type installs. The type of thing you might see on the «Pimp my Ride» show. They do more than just mobile electronics. Fully half of the shop out back is dedicated to doing upholstery work. After they modify a vehicle to cram in a sound system or DVD monitors, they upholstery guys make it look like a factory job.
If it is not neat in the front of the shop, it’s worse in the back. It’s really a bunch of capable tech /​gear guys having fun working and delivering a nice end product. Chances are, if you were to go to a dealer that «Sends work out» it would wind up here anyway. Dress down, get a quote before the work is done, and you will be pleased with the end result.

Well, I was happy at the time.
They installed my stereo without using a wiring harness, which meant that when it came time to take out the stereo and re-​install the original, it was a total mess.
