If you’re ever in WestFarms mall and you have a macaron sensing radar, chances are you’ve noticed the new macaron kiosk by the center of the bottom level. The rainbow of colors in perfectly rounded shapes caught my eye as I was walking by one day. I inquired about the price, decided it was too much at $ 5.00 for two, and walked away. Then I went back and bought a couple a few minutes later. I tried a strawberry and also a chocolate, impressed by the taste and texture. It seemed very fresh and the flavors were strong enough without overwhelming, the appropriate sweetness — not cloying. And they were airy and light, as they should be. The next time I was at the mall I went back again and tried a coconut and passion fruit. Both great as well. As much as I liked them I don’t think I’ll be back for a while though as they are just a bit too pricey. At that price point I could get a lot more with another treat, but if I am at the mall and craving macarons I’d make the splurge. Probably. On another note, customer service was good. The staff member was helpful and friendly.
