Walked in about ½ hour before closing and the hostess kindly informed us of that. No problem, thank you for letting us know! Our server was very friendly and took our orders quickly. Food was great — just good diner food! When I was contemplating whether or not to bring home half of my burger and concerned that the bun would get too soggy, our server threw a fresh bun in the bag for me! I generally think good customer service is usually connected to a good business. The staff was excellent and so was the food(and the music was perfect — old standards!). Love this diner and I really need to frequent it more. It’s not easy to find the right combination of good service, ambience and food.

There’s an old adage that says take a look at the restrooms and it’ll tell you a lot about the place you’re eating in. The restrooms were immaculate! The classic steel and red leather interiors are matched with great service and a huge menu selection to suit any taste. I had the Spanakopita and my wife the Mac & Cheese with Sweet potato fries. It was a little off the main drag, but well worth finding. Then head over to Orange for the Strawberry Festival on June 11th.

One of my favorite local diners. It’s a small place that has the same consistent servers. Right around the corner from the West Haven train. Why not 5 stars? There’s always a few servers who seem to not be happy, with a small diner like this one-it’s hard not to notice every time.

I’ve been going to Georgie’s for about 5 years pretty consistently, mostly for brunch. Depending on what day you go and time of day it can get packed however there is Leah’s ample parking in front or back so no worries there. In the warmer weather they open up the outside patio which is lovely and the surrounding flowers and wonderful landscaping do a good job at somewhat making the open road behind you. The prices are pretty high for a diner however in my opinion the quality of the food is better than most diners as well.

My husband and I have been die-hard Georgie’s fans for at least 4 years. Our last visit made me kind of sad. It seems as though they are under new management? I could be very wrong but so many things were different – the food options, the waitstaff, the menu itself. The reason we loved Georgie’s so much was because it wasn’t a typical diner at all. It looked like a diner but it was more like a great restaurant – as a matter of fact, the food was better than any restaurant I’d been to! But this last time we went really broke my heart a bit. The prices were inflated, the service was extremely s l o w. We waited 40 minutes for a sandwich and grilled chicken. It wasn’t busy either. We were one of 3 tables. The food portions were laughably small too! We are very familiar with their portions and I just couldn’t believe how small they got! $ 4.25 for a small side of mashed potatoes?! Think ½ the size of a Boston Market side. My husband’s sandwich was just chicken and melted cheese on a huge white plate. No lettuce, no tomato, no onion… nothing. And the size of his sandwich was more like a slider. Our bill was incredibly inflated. I don’t know what is happening here, Goergie’s. And it breaks my heart but I can’t recommend your restaurant anymore. I do believe in second chances. Maybe one day you’ll find your spark again. :/

My friend and I stumbled upon this place on a Friday night drive back to New Jersey from Rhode Island; we were going to eat at the Texas Roadhouse a mile away, but it was packed and the menu wasn’t particularly appealing. We saw a billboard for this diner on the highway and trekked over– what a great decision we made! The menu isn’t overwhelming like the diners we’re used to frequenting on a regular basis; however, there’s something for everyone. I had the vegan southwest scramble & hash with home fries for dinner(I’m not vegan, but do enjoy a good tofu dish!) while my friend had nachos. My meal was the perfect size; no leftovers, and enough to leave me full. My friend raved about the nachos– they weren’t soggy at the bottom as they tend to get, and it was cool that they gave her salsa & sour cream on the side rather than piling it on. Guac was extra, as always, but there was a generous amount for $ 3. Service was decent– our server was super sweet! The diner wasn’t busy, and it was cool that they were happy to serve customers at 9:30 when a sign on their door said they were closing early for an event. If I’m ever back in the area, I will definitely be back!

Last time I visited I was impressed with my meal. They lowered their prices a bit for some items which was good.

I think we found a new spot to stop thru on the way to and from PROV to NY. Everything we ordered was good and my family is picky. Everyone ate everything and I didn’t think I could eat so much from my own plate and some of everybody else’s. Thinking of stopping in??? Do it!

Delicious food! Cute diner atmosphere. It is a very small diner, but everything was fresh! We stopped at 9:15pm during our road trip in hopes it would redeem diners from the previous one we were at which was horrible. It definitely exceeded our expectations! The French toast was delicious that they dip in vanilla custard. I highly suggest it! They also offer a good variety of vegan and gluten free items. Worth the stop!

This place seems to have gotten a little full of itself. The prices have gone way up and it is no longer worth it. We’re done.

This place is AWESOME. Love that they have options for vegans and non-vegans so my family and I could eat here together. The vegan French toast, butternut hash, buckwheat pancakes, and breakfast burrito are all delicious. Our server was very friendly and helpful. I love this place! I will definitely be back next time I’m in Connecticut.

I’ve been to Georgie’s three times now. It’s very close to UNH, so it’s a good place to go when I visit the school. This is a nice place for lunch or breakfast. The food is good and the service is adequate. They turn over tables pretty quickly — so even if there is a wait in this small restaurant, it’s never too long. On my last visit, we got two soups and two salads for about $ 30 before tip which is a little on the pricey side for a diner. The cups of soup are a little on the pricey side but on the other hand, some of their menu items are seemingly too cheap — it depends what you’re looking for! This definitely isn’t your average run-down old school diner. It’s clean and fresh inside. The menu has good variety. The pricing is the only thing I could complain about. Overall, I’m sure I’ll be back!

Average diner food at a high price. For Vegans and those needing a Gluten-Free menu, they have a lot of variety. But our food was pretty underwhelming(dry, sad omelette), the service not-especially-friendly, and a pretty large bill for a casual diner breakfast. Only the eggs are organic, so I’m not sure what justifies the high price. There’s better options in the area if you don’t need the specialty items. Pop’s for quality diner food, The Corner and Bella’s for gourmet/brunch, etc.

The pumpkin walnut pancakes are out of this world AMAZING! So light and fluffy they just melt in your mouth with amazingness! I also ordered the hash towns. They were seasoned just right and had the perfect amount of crispness on the top. The service was good as well. The food came out pretty fast, which was a plus for my hungry tummy. I will definitely be back to try the vegan options soon! I’ve got my eye on the vegan Reuben

I absolutely love this spot. Its a must go when in the area. Great brunch options. Everything ive tried is yummy. Im vegan so i love those options on the menu. My husband is not and all he has tried is great too. Quick friendly service. Only complaint is that it is a tad pricey compared to other diner type places in the area. For example large cranberry juice 4 dollars. Tempeh blt 12.75 comes with one side, sweet potato fries were an upgrade of 1 dollar. Id say these prices are 10 to 15 percent above other diners in the area.

This place is cute and pretty busy for late afternoon. It has a cute old time diner feel. My service was good. I ordered the meatloaf dinner with mashes potatoes. It was really good. Food is a 4 out of 5 to me. My cup of chicken orzo was really good. I do think they are slightly high on prices. The could come down a few bucks on 1⁄3 if their menu and be much more competitive.

Great menu, awful food. Fruit salad was old and inedible, tempeh reuben was dry with a huge block of tempeh and some kind of mushroomy thing. Yucko!

Ah Georgie’s. Probably my biggest love/hate relationship with a food establishment. Now let me be clear, their food is great, and if you have strict dietary constraints, as I do, then they are a blessing. Generally I like the staff as well. Here’s the problem: the prices. MYGOD the prices. Not only are they monumentally high, but they are sometimes double or even triple the cost of the same dish elsewhere in town. And their sizing doesn’t make any sense either. Here is a very SLIGHT dramatization of Georgie’s pricing logic, and I sincerely emphasize the SLIGHT: One egg with home fries: $ 9.25 Two eggs with home fries: $ 9.50 Fresh squeezed juice, small: $ 7.50 Fresh squeezed juice, large: $ 7.75 Cobb Salad(doesn’t come with chicken, though Cobb Salads are supposed to): $ 14.50 Add grilled chicken: $ 7.50 Add organic grilled chicken: $ 9 Jesus Christ, Georgie’s, are you trolling the town or just taking advantage of people with dietary restrictions? I can’t tell. But I love the food, so I keep coming back… About once a pay period, since that’s all I can afford.

A neat local diner with decent vegan options. This diner is the sister location of Guilford’s Shoreline Diner. The menu here is similar, but somewhat smaller. It also looks newer inside and has a recently redesigned menu. The vegan options range from pancakes to soups and a few sandwiches. The Tempeh Reuben is usually my go-to here. It’s a decent-sized sandwich and the meal is fairly filling and tasty. The prices, much like Shoreline, are just a bit too high. Sandwiches for $ 12.50? The food is good, but not that amazing. Five bucks for a glass of juice? Service is inconsistent. My most recent visit featured lazy service. We went to pay the bill and three young women were just standing at the register chatting. They didn’t even acknowledge us for at least 20 seconds. Overall, Georgie’s is a neat diner with novelty offerings, including many vegan and gluten-free options. I recommend Georgie’s for a special meal or gathering, but not for daily visits. Even though they have vegan meals, good luck finding more than one vegan dessert. They have a loyalty program, but you have to spend $ 1000 dollars(1000 points) to get a reward. That’s just silly.
