The first time I came here it was a very quiet place. We got seated and helped very quickly. Once we ordered the food came out quick and hot. My columbian dish was so good. Great staff and service.

This is my favorite diner in West Haven. It’s small but has a ton of character and they make great food! Get yourself an omelet and you won’t be disappointed.

Happy to have discovered this place a few months ago. The food was very good. Come hungry the protions are big. The columbian breakfast will keep you full all day. The side of avocado was perfectly ripe and a great compliment to the omelette i had. I will keep this place in mind for an excellent breakfast spot. Be prepared to wait a bit for your table as the place is small and well know. I’ve never had to wait more than 15 minutes so far. Well worth it.

I’ve been wanting to try Jerri’s for the longest time and I finally went in for breakfast today. The menu is a combination of your regular American fare plus some Colombian specialties. My husband had the Calentado(steak with mixture of rice and beans plus scrambled eggs with scallions and tomatoes plus and arepa with cheese), and I had a sausage omelette with homefries. The portions are big(I couldn’t finish mine, but my husband cleaned his plate) and the quality of food is excellent. Everything was well-prepared and with good flavor. They have that homecooked meal quality to it. Their coffee was great as well. The service was attentive and nice. The place is small but at the time we went, we didn’t have any trouble finding a table. We’ll definitely be back to keep trying more dishes(arepa rellena being on the top of my list).

Had the Blueberry pancakes for breakfast from Jerri’s yesterday — they were very tasty & filling, I enjoyed them. The talk around West Haven is that the Colombian selections are very good, but I have yet to sample that fare at Jerri’s yet.

The Colombian food was great. I ordered arroz con pollo. The plate was huge. I still haven’t gone back for another try at their breakfast.

I love this place. We’ve been coming here for 5 years. A fantastic mix of traditional American diner food and Columbian specialties. My Ecuadorian husband straight up craves the calentado. Service is quick, friendly and dependable. Tiny, and only open for breakfast and lunch. It’s cute and clean. Decent coffee refilled in a timely manner. Fairly priced. What more can you ask of a diner?

Love this place! Combination of American & Columbian food. Only open 6am to 3pm. So get your food early. Carne asada is to die for… I swore off Dunkin donuts to have their fresh coffee.

Great breakfast diner. Quick, affordable, and a good quantity of food. And friendly enough to boot! Coffee tastes like coffee! I have low standards for diners and this exceeds them by bounds. Don’t go to ihop go to Jerris!

Two words: Columbian breakfast. Outstanding, and definitely large enough for two people to share. I would actually recommend doing so because it would most likely be too much food for an individual to consume in one sitting. At around $ 12, it is also more cost effective to share a meal. My boyfriend added a toasted bagel and we each had a coffee, all for around $ 20 which included tip. Our meal consisted of a mound of beans and rice combined, scrambled eggs with scallions and tomatoes mixed in, a large, thin slab of grilled steak topped with fresh avocado slices and fried plantains, and a side tortilla with cheese that was made out of rice dough rather than wheat flour. All of the food was incredible, up there with five star quality. Service was friendly but average. Our waitress did take a minute to explain the various Columbian selections that were listed on the back of the menu, which I appreciated. The coffee wasn’t exceptional, but passable. The interior is cute and cozy. They have definitely remodeled to positive effect since I was last there several years ago. I suspect they may have changed owners or management since the new vibe is different than I recall, and I prefer the current atmosphere. I feel like I have rediscovered another solid, affordable, local breakfast place in West Haven.

After skipping brunch at Bella’s and Georgie’s(too long & annoying a wait for both) on a Sunday, a friend and I decided to stop here. I’ve seen it on my way to other things, and it always looked like it would be good. It is. It is better than we expected. I was expecting something a bit like Patricia’s in New Haven(breakfast standards, low prices, one of my favorite places.) Jerri’s has all of those things, like eggs & toast, pancakes, omelets, etc. BUT they also have… COLOMBIANFOOD! SURPRISE! It is good. We both ordered arepas with eggs, hot sauce and avocado, as well as a side of plátanos [great with maple syrup.] They also offer chicharrón, which I did not want at 10am, but plan on trying sometime in the future. There is bistec y huevos. All of this, I would eat. The place is tiny, but we had no wait. Servers were friendly. Regular Diner + Colombian Diner = will be back.

I’ve been going to Jerri’s for at least 12 years now and it’s the definitiion of dependable. The breakfast is always great(regardless of what you get), the staff always keeps your cup full and it’s dirt cheap. Daily specials keep things from getting boring, and you can always expect a smile. The omelettes are particularly good.
