Tried this place on the way home. Wanted good food. I was skeptical to begin. But the food was excellent! So happy to have a good spot close to home and worth every penny!

We ordered lemo chicken, sweet and sour pork, orange Chicken with Chinese donuts. Pros: good delivery time, plenty of food, sweet and sour pork was good. Good eggrolls Cons: chicken was very rubbery and just tasted bad. I wouldn’t recommend this place to anyone as there is plenty of other Chinese places to eat at

I used to order from this place all the time, especially since they offer online ordering which is super convenient. I’m not sure what happened, but the last two times we ordered our food has been awful. The beef in our beef and broccoli was inedible, and the fried rice went from delicious to the yellow, over processed crap that you pick up from the mall. Such a shame.

When my wife and I crave Chinese cuisine this is the place we go to. We tried many Chinese restaurants in the area and nothing compares to these guys. Their lunch menu is reasonably priced and have a lot to offer. We have been eating from this place for a while now especially since we moved to the West Haven area. I recommend this place for any of you Chinese food lovers that are lazy to cook lunch or dinner like we sometimes are!

I am always weary of fast, delivery Chinese food. However, my fiancé and I had no desire to leave the house so we thought we’d give it a shot. I’ve had bad experiences with other local places in the past and decided to give this place a try. We are very glad we did. The pork egg rolls were crispy and had a slight bite to the seasonings. I got the hunan beef combination with vegetable fried rice. The beef was tender, the vegetables crisp, and the rice is was flavorful and not oily. I was very impressed. My fiancé had the chicken Chow Ho Fun. The noodles were not over done and the dish was flavorful. The steamed dumplings were doughy, but the filling had great flavors. We were full and content after our meal and we did not feel like we just ate a pile of salt. Overall, I would try this place again! Oh, and don’t forget to ask for the homemade hot mustard!

HD one-liner: «Great generic Chinese» Not all generic taste though. Chicken dumplings where quite good, and had a handmade feel — as did the egg rolls. Yes to: General Tso’s, Lo Mein, Egg rolls, Chicken Dumplings, and Chinese Donuts. No to: Beef on a Stick. Avoid these. I’m not even sure why they were so bad. Everyone was pleasant and helpful. I recommend.

New Haven has very slim pickings in terms of good Chinese take-out/delivery. This place definitely doesn’t get all of the dishes right, but those it does get right are superior to other take-out & delivery Chinese inthe New Haven area. The singapore noodles and their shrimp dishes are excellent. The shrimp is always big and juicy and cooked just right. I don’t know who said it is expensive, but it is priced the same as other similar restaurants. It definitely does not warrant $$$$, it is a $$ place. And they offer the option of brown rice with your meal instead of white rice! They have even offered to alter certain dishes to my preferences(they took out meat for me). This is the best Chinese delivery in the area. The staff who picks up the phone is also always friendly and courteous and gives reasonable delivery estimates.

We were hungry and figured we would give it a try. We ordered: Egg rolls Chicken and broccoli Veggie lo mein Veggie fried rice Chicken pad Thai Eggs rolls were hot and crispy but they were very spicy, not something I expected. Typical greasy eggs rolls. My husband enjoyed his chicken and broccoli and veggie rice. He said they were hot and flavorful and that the broccoli was not over cooked. My daughter had the veggie lo mein. It was overly greasy and did not taste fresh. There were no distinct flavors and instead it was just a jumble of nothing. The noodles were mushy and warm. The pad Thai was a huge mistake and I should have thought more clearly but I was craving peanutty goodness. The noodles were a pale pink and there was no greens in it. The«chicken» was little curls of I don’t know what. The only identifiable things were egg and peanuts and a HUGE lime in the corner. I don’t think I will be going back since much of out food was unidentifiable. We need a good Chinese and Thai place. And the next time I’m tempted to quench my peanut craving I’ll make a PB& J

Friend and I ordered take-out from here. The delivery man called to say he had arrived, but he wasn’t there when we went outside. His phone didn’t seem to be working, but he eventually showed up on foot(a bit strange). When we unpacked the food, there were no utensils or napkins. I thought the food was tasty(beef & broccoli, dumplings) but my portion was disappointingly small. Trying a different place next time.

I can’t believe the reviews this place got. I ordered from here in a pinch when I was starving. I fired up Unilocal even though I know everything to eat around here and noticed this Chinese delivery joint with a great rating and I was able to order directly through Unilocal which was even more tempting. Another reviewer said the general tsos was good so I did that and some fried rice. As soon as I saw the chicken I was disappointed. For the price and ratings(his place is very pricy for delivery) I was expecting some chicken on a china pavilion level. Instead what I saw was chicken covered in a thick breading with possibly the most thick, syrup like sauce imaginable dumped all over it. Every piece of chicken was chewy. I ended up going to dumbass Burger King. The chicken fried rice was also mushy and lacked any flavor or texture. Avoid. Baos is cheaper, and better quality food, and I even avoid Baos and would rather go to china pavilion any day.

My husband and I ordered from King Chef twice in the past week and are very impressed. I wish I had known about this place earlier because the food is quality, arrives quickly and tastes yummy. The prices are reasonable and the portions are large. I had the pad thai both times which was pretty good, the boneless spare ribs are AWESOME, my husband loves the Sweet and Sour Chicken and the Crab Ragoons are tasty. I also ordered the homemade iced tea which was DELISH! Very happy with King Chef and look forward to ordering from them again and again!

This is some of the best Chinese takeout I’ve had. The staff is incredibly friendly and I haven’t once had a bad order. Try the steamed dumplings and the General Tso and you won’t be sorry.

This is my new Monday-night-Chinese place. I really like them! Their portions are very generous and the employees are extremely friendly, helpful, and fast. I also like the fact they’re very open to special requests. Brown rice? No problem? No vegetables in the fried rice for the hubby? Sure. They have a large menu and everything that I’ve tried has been delicious and piping hot.
