Shepherd of the Valley Lutheran School

My two kids go to preschool at SOV and I couldn’t be happier. The school offers half-​days, full-​days schedule and extended care. The staff and teachers are great and the kids get to enjoy a very nourishing environment, which I find crucial for the little ones. They also work with a strong academic curriculum. My four-​year-​old can already write her name, her classmate’s names and she is often conversing about different topics she learned at school. I know how difficult it is to find a place and team that we can trust out children to — SOV has all of that to offer. And as previously mentioned on other reviews here on Unilocal,this school is a hidden gem!

SOV is a hidden gem tucked away in a quiet neighborhood of West Hills. The teachers and staff are incredible and so nurturing. They go above and beyond the norm for the children everyday and my child is getting a top notch private school education. My child looks forward to school each morning and is smiling and happy at pick up. I couldn’t ask for more from a school. I am so lucky to have found SOV.

My daughter is a fourth-​grader at this small and loving school. This place is truly a gem, instilling strong values and high academic standards that are reinforced by a wonderful community. Shepherd kids go on to top schools but more importantly are taught to be kind and respectful leaders. Highly recommend. They also have a preschool and a new transitional K program.

This is an excellent school. I attended K-​6^th myself and now my son is attending (preschool — 6^th). The classes are small, which allows for him to receive individualized attention from the teacher. The classes also participate in music, Spanish, computers, and field trips. There is chapel each week, which provides an opportunity for the kids to practice performing in front of a group (speaking and singing). The staff really cares about he kids and makes sure they are taken care of. There is a great shaded playground. The after-​school program (Club House) is also great as well as the camps and programs offered during school breaks and summer. A bonus for me is the easy drop-​off and pick-​up because of the large parking lot that parents can use.
