A great scene for a good time meeting all types of folks from celebs to just cool and sometimes wild folk from all over. It’s got a touch of Rock and Roll going on too, lots of history here. What really makes it excellent are folks like the manager Tony and the bar staff like Katie, but really everyone did a great job here, very impressive. Great drinks and wonderful times :)

super nostalgic place, lots of history in this bar. Celebs, athletes, ME, socialites, impromptu performances, grammy /oscar after parties. What a gem off the main drag. There was a celeb bday party the night I stayed so we got to party with them., do not know his name but he was super cool. Bar has a rock n roll feel to it, true Hollywood feeling. The ambiance and the environment was GREAT. Sexy n Chic was the theme. Looking forward to visiting and hanging out again.

cute spot. Definitely feels very«beverly hills» Why you may ask? No parking, overpriced valet and overpriced drinks. But somehow I still enjoyed it. The vibe is cool. Chill and a bit dark. Intimate for sure. Bar wasn’t packed and they didn’t take that long to provide me with my drink that wasn’t worth 18 bucks BTW. The couches and tables add extra spots to socialize. There are other two rooms and actually a gallery if you ask around. I liked it. Wouldn’t get out of my way to return. But I enjoyed the company, the ambiance and the vibe.

It’s a cool scene, dark vibe, pricey drinks. I had many fun nights here when it was still known as the Whiskey Bar. If you’re looking for a fancy, intimate, expensive experience this is the place for you.

This place rocks! We came in the first time on a very mellow Sunday. We walked in and were about to find a more«happening» spot but the bartender and manager we so friendly and fun, we decided to stay for a drink. Thank goodness we did. We ended up closing the bar! Not only did the bar fill up with weird and wonderful patrons(and apparently some big pop band. Although I don’t know who they were) but we had great cocktails(ask the cute bartender to make you her old fashioned. Best one I’ve had in years) great conversation(ask Terry the manager anything about music. I swear he’s a music wizard) and we could smoke cigarettes in the dark patio off the bar. The Music was great There was even a hilarious impromptu dance off. What a hidden gem. Great staff. Great drinks. Great bar.

The coolest, most laid-back whiskey bar in LA. It’s usually not too crowded and frequented by pretty interesting people. The bar area itself is dimly lit and has about 6 – 7 seats around it. The rest of the room is lined with couches and lounge chairs. There is a back room with couches as well that is even more dimly lit than the rest of the bar.

Okay let me start by saying this is my favorite bar EVER. Why the four stars? Short pours, and mediocre, bordering on bad service. The bar is located at the front of the hotel and is super dark. I think that’s what I love most about it, aside from the strong scent of nag champa wafting throughout. They also play really good classic rock. Are the cocktails great? Who knows. I have always ordered Fernet Branca neat. As I mentioned previously, their pour is short. Order a double, maybe a triple if you’re feeling frisky. Thing is, being from Las Vegas, I’m VERY picky about specialty cocktails and would have a bias towards our award winning mixologists(that I have spent hundreds of hours working with). I’m sure whatever you order will be great, as long as you order a double. Oh, one last thing… Not sure how they get away with it, but they allow smoking in their«outside» area. It’s not really outside and it’s really freakin’ gross. I love going to California to escape the smoke and was totally bummed to be subjected to it here. If you’re a smoker you will totally love this spot.

A tiny little hotel bar in classic rock n’roll theme, dark and sexy. Comfy seatings are all over the main bar and patio area, cozy and intimate. This is a great Hollywood bar scene at Sunset Marquis, people are friendly, atmosphere is chill, the drinks are creative and tasty, many whiskey cocktails on the menu, I tried a champagne vodka drink, it was so refreshing and yummy! Hubby had a whiskey drink as usual, both of us enjoyed our drinks and lounge time, it was lovely. This is one of the more quiet bars to hang in WeHo, and I like that a lot.

Home. This is the best bar in Hollywood. Dark and intimate where everybody knows your name.

The ambience is 5 stars. Such a cute little dark place. Perfect level of music so you can have a nice conversation. Imagine that. I tried some of the drinks, which were pretty standard. They charge an arm and a leg. How about $ 17 for a mixed drink?(!!). Decent service. Really 3 stars for the price of the drinks. Oh, and did I mention this hotel sits on a giant hill that extends from Santa Monica blvd to sunset? Impossible for heels(for you ladies).

Love the small inmate atmosphere of this bar. Darkly lit with several small nooks and crannies with big comfy chairs. Bartender was quick and attentive. Drinks I guess where averagely price for LA. Absolutely loved all the rock memorabilia lining the walls. One of the unfortunately few good things happened the last time I visited LA was going here.

This place is classy and professional every step of the way. Went there for a big birthday party and was overwhelmed by the way everything fell into step from a staff that worked together like a Swiss watch. They made the party so special by putting in so much effort yet staying in the sidelines so the party goers can spread out and enjoy themselves. I have never seen such attentiveness like I did here. From the decorations, to the food, to the two open bars, they ranked a 5-star from me. It was a very pleasant and unforgettable evening.

We were having a terrible time trying to find a place to grab a drink on a Saturday night(ughhhh, LA, you smite us), but someone thought of the Sunset Marquis and we were pleasantly surprised to see Bar 1200 fairly empty, with lots of places to lounge. We tried sitting out on the patio, but even though it’s 99% enclosed, it’s still open enough to allow smokers, so we quickly moved inside. I ordered a glass of wine but they were out of wine glasses. That was strange, but I took it in a regular glass. The crowd seemed a little older, but as another birthday passes me, I should probably not complain about that anymore. They started aggressively moving us out at 1:40AM, and while I’m sure they have their reasons, it felt lame. Overall, it did the trick, but I probably wouldn’t seek it out again unless we ran out of options.

Fun place to pre-party or end a night on the town. Drinks can be pricey — so get to know the bartenders! They’re great fun and make some mean mixed drinks. You’re bound to meet a variety of people– either locals hanging out or tourists getting to know the area. You’ll also find your occasional rich patron– maybe they’ll comp you a drink! It’s a nice place to relax every day of the week. The hotel grounds are beautiful. You can walk around. Don’t be surprised to catch famous people; it’s a popular night spot on the sunset strip. The bar is dimly lit. A good romantic atmosphere, but it’s pretty noisy at night. There’s a nice outdoor seating area for smokers/non smokers. You can bring drinks as it’s connected to the indoor section. You have to walk down a steep hill if you’re going from Sunset. You can park on Sunset or Fountain(street below the Marquis). Or there is a parking garage across the street($ 10). Don’t expect a cheap night out.

Dark like a bat cave good for drinks and socializing. Ran into James Hetfield. Wish I cared. I don’t get starstruck. Felt kind of goth inside even though I don’t think that’s the feel they were going for. It’s a rather small bar so if it’s happy hour or maybe weekend you might not have any seating room. Wasn’t too loud to hear your company talking. Staff were all very friendly and definitely felt like a small world here where everybody knew everybody. Either they are all alcoholics and it’s like Cheers where everybody knows your name… or it’s the Hollywood entertainment hang out. Not really my scene, but the hotel has a nice ambiance to it. Very chill. Parking: Not sure actually. Parked in my friend’s underground visitor’s garage at the Wellington across the street. I’m guessing valet or paid lot.

It’s a lil’ off Sunset so it’s like going to a secret location hidden with TONS of bushes/trees. Beauuuutiful inside. Cool dim-lit atmosphere in the bar. I’ve never gone when it’s been crowded, so its lovely! Great drinks & walked around to check out the great photography of rock stars as they visited/lived there.

It was chill and not busy on a Saturday night, and I only came here on the suggestion of the doorman at Palihouse that wouldn’t let me in because they were having a «private party»… which is doorman speak for«we don’t want single dudes in here.» So I walked a couple blocks to Bar 1200 and got right in with no problem. The candle light and burning incense makes everyone here seem more well-meaning. Take in the lounge with autographed photographs of recording artists that have recorded in the basement recording studios of the hotel. I saw McLovin from Superbad shooting lemondrops. on the outdoor patio that is completely secluded from the street… I wonder if he’s using that fake ID? The music is good and loud enough to enjoy but soft enough to hear the person next to you. A Jack & Coke is $ 10 and a Stella is $ 6. The crowd was a mix of hotel guests and locals from the neighborhood– the waitstaff knew half the people coming into the bar. Overall, a great place for a chill low-key night.
