We had dinner and Breakfast at both the rooftop dining and café dining downstairs and the service and food was amazing! My wife and I are real foodies and we can be very critical, but both these restaurant’s were fantastic. The rooftop dining was truly a great experience. The large heaters, the sexy atmosphere, a great place for a romantic dinner. I highly recommend it!

Awesome place — had an amazing roof terrace. The décor is super chill and very LA. Great to go in the evening to see the views. Really loved the place. We went for happy hour, around 6 drinks and an extra bottle inc apps for $ 140

Afternoon Tea at Boxwood at The London is served Saturday & Sunday only 1p-3:30p. The hotel lobby and dining room feature modern elegance. Our group enjoyed a comfortable table. Each guest chooses their tea from a small but varied list and receives a personal 2 cup pot. Tea is teabags, but a premium brand and was quite delicious. Pots were promptly refilled with hot water upon request. Tea service is on three-tiered stand, nicely presented. The scone, mini muffin, & sandwiches(4 varieties/a bit smaller than a ½ sandwich each) were very tasty and fresh. The desserts — crème brule & tiramisu bars, mini lemon meringue pie and macarons were amazing. Service was very friendly and attentive, tho a bit awkward at times. We had inquired ahead of time about accommodations for a vegetarian diner, and were told ‘no problem’. They did accommodate with tasty substitutes, but there was some confusion and minor issues with the proper amount of sandwiches overall.

If it was not recommended to me, I wouldn’t have known how satisfying this place is. With the place so stylish place with perfect lights, very attractive to me! It’s a nice place to jive and chill! Very relaxing place for me ! I had my order, a Scottish salmon rillette, with horseradish cream and toasted focaccia,(perfectly made and presented) it adds to my cravings, that smell and the taste extraordinary! Very exemplary for my appetite! The Service fabulous and would highly recommend this restaurant as one of the best in L. A The quality of the food couldn’t be beaten with just an ordinary same food. Well that for me is as my subjective opinion that therefore is irrevocable!

Met a friend for lunch during Dine LA week. I wasn’t expecting a lot but was pleasantly surprised with a very nice lunch and overall great experience. Since the menu seems to change frequently, it’s hard to recommend specific dishes, but we were able to easily find something tasty for every course. If they have a cheesecake though — highly recommend you get that! The crab toast was excellent as was our add-on side of skinny fries. The stand out was the mini-donuts with various sauces… so good! The huge portion of risotto I had for lunch was also a winner. Some places give you attitude or mini portions or unappealing choices during Dine LA, but we didn’t have that experience at all at Boxwood. In fact, we had so much food for lunch we had to take a good bit home. Service was terrific and the atmosphere of the place is just right — would be good for a meeting but also nice just to go with friends. Valet parking is pretty much your only option in the area(restaurant will validate for discounted parking rates).

Boxwood is one of the popular resto here in L.A. Atmosphere here is nice and cozy, it looks so elegant and classy inside. I came here together with my friend for a dinner. We greeted by our server 15 minutes after being seated just before walked out. We ordered coconut shrimp noodles and wild mushroom risotto, it taste good, but not great. Some of their dishes are okay too. The food here is mediocre, but it tastes so good. Food seems pretty over priced by a few dollars. The food was okay. The service is okay. This resto wouldn’t be my first choice, but I’d eat here again.

After a crazy night with a hangover in the morning, Boxwood Sunday breakfast really hit the spot. We went down in the morning for their complimentary dining and they had all sorts of selections of different pastries, fruits, cheese and drinks. They literally had like 10 different cheeses. After devouring their pastries and washing it down with their freshly squeezed juice, I was good to go!

Not bad, went there for dineLA lunch menu. But then then they made the portion and quality less than when my friend tried it a week before. Think they got a little popular from the Instagram dineLA feature so they started making the quality not as good for the remaining dineLA. For example the lobster risotto, my friend got half of a whole lobster, but for mine I only got little pieces.

I took advantage of Dine LA and tried the Boxwood. I was really happy with the entire experience. The Boxwood is beautifully decorated and the staff is great. Since I visited the Boxwood during Dine LA, I ordered off a special menu. I had the Local Burrata, Filet Mignon, and the Mango Cheesecake. Everything was delicious and the steak was perfectly cooked. All of our dishes were beautifully plated and I was very impressed with the presentation. I did find it strange that the restaurant was so empty. I was there around 8:00 on a Friday night and would have assumed the place to be packed considering it’s location and how good the food was.

I wouldn’t normally eat at a hotel restaurant if I wasn’t staying at said hotel, but I went along with a friend who loves it here. This place is swanky! I wasn’t expecting it to have such nice atmosphere, but the dining area and lounge/bar area are really open and airy. I wasn’t starving, so we got a couple of appetizers and drinks. Jewels was our server and she was so sweet and accommodating! I asked a lot of questions about ingredients and she didn’t seem annoyed at all: D She helped with drink recommendations too– and we loved everything! I’d love to come back sometime, and I hear there’s another bar on the rooftop with a pool(sounds awesome!)

First time eating here it is a very pricey restaurant but they do serve good food. My husband and I got the Beefwelmington it was served with bacon wrapped green beans, a roasted carrot, and a roasted onion. I probably would not come here again.

DineLA: I had a friend in town and we decided to try Boxwood because it was in the area she was at. I don’t normally go to this side of town just because I’ve just gotten so used to my area, but I’m glad I came out of my shell! We were able to quickly snag a 6pm reservation. We were the first ones there. The soft lighting created a romantic ambiance and the décor to match was just beautiful. Where we were seated allowed us to have a great view of DTLa at night. We were greeted by our charismatic waiter Keith. He explained the menu to us thoroughly and even made the suggestion of each getting a different dessert off the DineLa so we can try all of it. He also took his time in helping us choose a wine within our budget that went well with all of our meals, which I really appreciated. Our first course: I ordered the Burrata with olives. The Burrata was on a flaky pastry of some sort. It went so well with the olive tapenade. I tried my friends Braised Lamb Belly and that was full of flavor and and all the ingredients just went so well together. I loved how Keith came over and explained how it was cooked as we took a bite of this wonderful dish. Our second course: surf and turf The steak was on the bottom and a king crab leg was on top. The king crab had huge chunks of crab and they also turned parts of it into somewhat of a crab salad? It was delicious! It paired so well with the wine Keith chose. I finished every single bit of my order. Third course: my friends and I ordered each of the desserts on the menu so tried each other’s. The sticky toffee pudding: my favorite, The bottom was moist and top was crunchy. It wasn’t too sweet and tasted amazing. Mango cheesecake with passion fruit sauce. It was light and fluffy and came with fresh mangos. The chocolate hazelnut was personally to rich for me but my friend truly enjoyed it. Overall, the food was delicious, portions were perfect and filling, the presentation was on point and the service was impeccable thanks to Keith! I shall return for the beef Wellington! Parking: 10 dollars with dinner reservations

The restaurant was nice and the staff was friendly. We came at 12.15PM and there were only 3 other tables. — Burrata: 3⁄5. Nothing special but was not bad. — Crab toast: 4⁄5. It was good. Taste like a fancy spicy california roll, but better — Lobster risotto: 2⁄5. Meh. — Chicken(curry broth): 3.5÷5. Very tasty and flavorful. The chicken was a lot and not dry at all. — Donut w/choco and lemond curd: 3⁄5. Soft donuts. — Sticky Toffee Pudding: 4⁄5. It was good to be eaten with the ice cream, but it gets too sweet as it reaches the bottom. I would he happy if I only got the crab toast, chicken curry, and toffee pudding. But to come back with the price and slowness of the food to come out, I would probably opt this place out.

We dined on Christmas night. The service was good. Our waiter Dustin, was professional. We were three. For appetizer, I had Foie Gras, which turned out to be the mousse I guess. It tasted awful! It was cold and very different from what I normally eat in French restaurants. I asked to replace it with Lobster and our waiter nicely changed it; I liked the lobster. For entrees, we ordered Salmon, New York steak, and Wellington beef. The salmon was just OK, but the Wellington and NY Steak tasted great. For me it was worth the one time try. I don’t think I go back unless I want to eat the Wellington. I did not like the setting much, the marble tables in particular. $ 85/person for three course, on Christmas night, I think was a reasonable price to pay.

I can only comment on the excellent buffet breakfast that is included with the room. Great service — which allowed us to sit in the quiet area more up front for a business meeting than in the rather noisy main area. The food itself did remind me more of a breakfast buffet in Europe than the typical fair in the US — but, hey, it is the London after all and it is nice to have something different on top of that fact. Super friendly service as well. Bottom line — a great add on to an already wonderful hotel experience.

I attended a Bridal Shower that was held in one of the reserved rooms and all went really well! I loved the décor of the hotel and the restaurant. It was very chic~ we barely needed any decorations. Service was really helpful and more than accommodating when we were setting up. They made sure all our beverages were filled the whole time and came to check on us frequently. Since it was a decent sized group, we made it simpler and had the option of Steak of Salmon. everyone loved both options! I personally had the salmon and it was cooked great; not dry at all and the salmon skin was perfectly crispy! Don’t forget to get validation for the valet! $ 6 after validation. Overall, really liked the décor and was great for our group. not sure how it would be for dinner though!

Features: –We had the salt and pepper calamari which was really delicious. This reminded me of the calamari you get at a Chinese restaurant – super well seasoned and so up to par. –For entrees, we tasted the filet mignon, crab and uni pasta, and the tagliatelle pasta with black winter truffles. Let me first say that they messed up mine and my friend’s pasta. I had ordered a medium filet mignon and hers was supposed to be medium rare. They switched it and of course, we did not know until we started eating it. The meat itself was okay, nothing special but seasoned well. The King crab and uni pasta was okay, the noodles were really undercooked so we had to send a plate back so they can recook it. Lastly, the tagliatelle pasta was amazing. It was probably my favorite out of the three entrees– it was very well flavored and it left me wanting more. –For dessert, we had the pumpkin éclair with maple glaze which was super scrumptious, everyone who tried it really liked it. It was not too sweet and every bite of it was heavenly. The hazelnut crunch was good, it came with chocolate sorbet which came melted when it was first placed on the table. The apple tarte tatin with fennel ice cream was okay, not too sweet. This was everyone’s least favorite dessert. –Overall, my experience here was okay. I can’t say amazing since there were several errors but the waitress was really nice and I cannot complain about the service. Improvement: –Since this restaurant is fairly new and just opened recently, there are many opportunities for improvement – food and service wise. I am sure these two areas will become so much better in the future. Tips: –We sat inside a quiet room which was really nice. It allowed us to chat as it was not too loud. –DJ comes at night around 9:30pm.

Boxwood is a nicely decorated space on the ground floor of The London. The dining room is bright and airy. It actually has a great view of the city, because of the steep hill that it’s on. They offer an excellent buffet breakfast that is included with the room. We didn’t try it for dinner, but they boxed up a nice Thanksgiving lunch for us to take to relatives. The lounge area out front isn’t particularly cozy, but the bar in the middle of the restaurant is fairly nice. Service is friendly.

First time I came here, it was for brunch and it was FANTASTIC. Just came in recently to try their Blackboard Eats Happy Hour and it did not disappoint. I had the tempura shrimp and they were delicious! Plump, juicy and fresh shrimp and they do not skimp on these tasty shrimp! I also had the spicy tuna roll, which was probably the best spicy tuna roll I have ever had in my life.

Came here before Gordon Ramsay sold it off, I believe it’s no longer under Chef Ramsay now. It’s located in The London, a pretty nice and isolated hotel. Food: 3.8÷5 The food itself was pretty decent, but with Gordon Ramsay stressing on how important it is to cook scallops well, it was disappointing to taste overcooked scallops. What was most memorable was definitely their dessert, they had an amazing pistachio crème brûlée cake, which definitely made the whole dinner a lot better. Service: 3⁄5 Service was mediocre, with many diners in the restaurants, they were definitely short staffed, the waiter came to our table a mere four times, once to take our orders for dinner, one to serve dinner, one to take order for desserts and one to serve and to get us our bill. Rather disappointing service for a restaurant in a hotel.

Went with two friends to relax at the Boxwood one evening. The Boxwood is on the ground floor of the London, and is only opened later in the day. They have nice spacious tables. Since we arrived just as they opened for the evening, we were the only ones there. The waiter was very nice and attentive. He recommended the wine to go with our food. I got a Lamb sausage with sauteed bell peppers, and one of my friends got the Fish and Chips. The food was really good, and we enjoyed it. There is valet parking, and with a validation it is $ 10 to park. We really had a nice evening and I want to come back again for brunch, or dining in the the London’s rooftop area.

I took my mother to The Boxwood for Afternoon Tea for Mother’s Day and was very satisfied with my experience. The Tea menu is pre-fixed and is $ 38 per person which comes with a pot of tea(per person), finger sandwiches, pastries, and an assortment of deserts. It was absolutely delicious and there was so much food that my mom and I had to take the deserts to go! Definitely got our bang for our buck :) Julio was our waiter and was very attentive the entire dining experience. He was also very good at explaining their menu as well as the types of teas. The ambiance is sophisticated with a twist of trendiness. We were very impressed and will be coming back.

Dinner? NO. Sad sad sad. The Boxwood(at dinner) formerly known as Ramsay’s at The London has gone downhill since the contract was over. ===== The Ugly: The hotel’s website says that Executive Chef Anthony Keene is still running the kitchen and will still offer main stays that they were once know for like the Signature Roasted Beef Wellington, the mushroom risotto etc etc. Lo and Behold, we got in the hotel, booked reservations for dinner, and the Menu has completely changed. Coconut Shrimp noodles: Was an overpriced AND overcooked version of a cup noodle. The noodles were stuck together and as taken the shape of the bowl when I lifted it out with my fork. The broth had nothing going on there except ginger, coconut milk and maybe a little lemongrass. The only good thing about the dish was the shrimp, was plump and tasted fresh. Still would happily pay for $ 1 cup of noodles than this disappointing feat though. Signature Burger: was towered on ever so weirdly. Usually don’t have problems devouring burgers, and buns and juicy meat in general but this was particularly challenging by the way it was assembled. The bread disintegrated as soon as I bit on it. The kale was an interesting idea but we all know kale tends to be more chewy than crunchy compared to the lettuce. Bad idea. The fries that came with it was not seasoned at all, thank goodness for ketchup. ===== The Bad: Having to have gone through changes I would think that staff would be on top of their game to either entice or keep past diners of Ramsay’s. But they were not. Asking our server if they still offered wellies(yes we were willing to pay $ 120) for it. He just shrugged and said no and walked away. Didn’t really explain their menu, what we should try or anything. Lux? I think not. Speaking of their menu, it seems like there’s a lack of direction, confused or just totally boring. The interior looks like it slowly slipping away from being well maintained. They might be going for the Shabby-Chic feel. But this one was just shabby… and no, not the good kind of shabby. For what it was, and for what it is now. It’s safe to say that the Boxwood at dinner time has become nothing more than your below average dining spot conveniently located in the hotel. But given the hotel’s location, there’s a subway right across the street and lots of other dining options within a walking distance. Needless to say we didn’t stay longer and left to try out The Church Key nearby. ===== The Good: We were seated promptly, turned out there was no wait at all and reservations was uncalled for. And I can definitely understand why.
