Yo dunno why such a low rated $$$ place but it seemed like a sweet rooftop bar dig for the Thursday I went with zeh primos n her posse o birthday amigos. EXTREMELYBEATIFURRRR. Cocktails the usu LA overpricing of sorrts(e.g. Sex on the Beach ~$ 15) but at least it all pretty n shiz. Wishing they knew how to make Zombies, Grasshoppers, Banshees, and other crap I learned in bartending school but whatevs. Still got a Mai Tai so I’m chill. The chairs(non sofa ones) were surprisingly comfy. The view BEAUTIFURRR. and the attire: ERRYBODAYYYY be wearing black/dark colors, Don’t stick out like a sore thumb like I did… awkkkk~

Stopped by EP&LP for my friends birthday last night. Really chill rooftop bar in Weho — not the best place to bring all your drunken friends to(as we did last night). One of the bartenders was kind of a dick and the other one was suuuper nice, so I guess they average out to an A-Okay. Their cocktail specials were tasty and around $ 12 – 15 each. There’s plenty of seating available, no need for reservation on a Thursday night. Good place for post-date drinks or to chill and catch up with friends. Not good for dancing or any of that kind of ratchery. Cheers.

This place is fantastic!!! I ordered the steak which may or may not always be on the menu and the sauce it comes with is totally fantastic! I then ordered the wings(which I don’t usually do bc wings are messy and who wants that?) but the waiter recommended them and said they tingle in your mouth and they TOTALLY do!!! It’s so cool! I’d come back here just for a good tingle! Haha(however… Side note after ordering the banana dessert bc it spoke to me and said«order me, im delicious» i thought it was only ok, which is SOOOO sad! Too many nuts and the warm custard things was slightly sour) But the service was great, which more than compensates for that!

I feel like the poor reviews and complaints of price underneath come from the same crowd that throws a fit at coffee shops because their latte didn’t have enough caramel. Regardless, this place is phenomenal. My friends and I, four people total, split 4 entrees and 3 items under the fresh section. This was more than enough food to split between 4 people. The items under the Fresh part of the menu are more appetizer portions. We had the Crispy Pork, Check Yo Neck, and Som Tum. The Som Tum was good, but it was no match for either of the other two. Especially the Check Yo Neck, i was blown away with this dish. For entrees we had the short rib, brisket curry, vegetable curry, and veggie fried rice. When we were done, there wasn’t anything left to be licked off the plates. As far as price goes it was only $ 45 per person and I don’t regret a single penny of it. After dinner, we made our way up to the rooftop bar which has one of the best views in LA. Looking up North on La Cienega you see a breathtaking landscape of West Hollywood and the Hollywood Hills. I had the Smokey and the Bandit, a Mescal based drink that is one of the best things I’ve had. The drink prices are comparable to any craft cocktail in West Hollywood, but no other bar has a view like this. If you get a chance, certainly make a reservation. I would say get in around 6 or 7, because around 8 the place is packed!!! Regardless, definitely check this place out.

This review is only for the rooftop bar portion, I haven’t tried any of their food. Really cool rooftop with ample space and tables to chill at. Typical high drink prices and average drinks, but the atmosphere and ambiance is excellent and the main reason to come. If you’re a fan of rooftop bars or outdoor drinking, it’s definitely worth making a visit here. Even in colder weather, there’s heat lamps everywhere. They have an interesting alcoholic boba, which really has little resemblance to actual bubble milk tea. It tastes like an AMF, and has little pearls that pop in your mouth with fruit juice of some sort. A fun little novelty drink.

*Review solely for the rooftop bar. Great rooftop bar with killer views, ample seating and awesome music. It’s deceivingly spacious, with the main bar area and then it wraps around the sides with lots of seating, both VIP and open. This place is apparently known for their spiked boba, but I thought it was a letdown. It’s outwardly disguised as boba in the plastic cup with sealed top and straw, but that’s where the similarity ends. It’s a bright turquoise color and tastes a bit like an AMF. The signature drink of gin, cucumbers, strawberries, etc(forget the name) was refreshing and delicious. Great place to come after a dinner date or with a big group of friends. Seemed like there were a few birthday celebrations going on when we were there. Appreciated that they had heat lamps all over so that being outside was still enjoyable in the cold weather. Can’t wait to come back in the summer!

This place was overrated. I just can’t justify the price for the quality of food they served for Asian Fusion when i can get better asian fashion for a fraction less in SGV. At least you can make reservation at this place. The restaurant was on the second floor but looked very dated. The room was dark and nothing in there was appealing to remember. The food was about average too as well. I would say it was horrible. But i had better. Service was what saved the day there but i wouldn’t say they were extremely friendly. There was a hip lounge located at the 3rd floor. There were tables to eat or drink available upstairs. This would be a good place to have dinner and hangout afterwards at the bar/lounge. It was girls night out when i went out and It is convenient that you just head up a few flights of stairs and bang, you’re at the lounge!!! There is no dancing area. Just a place to hang out and catch up with friend over drinks! The ppl there weren’t really friendly. Maybe that’s how ppl in Hollywood normally behave. But i just didn’t like the vibe i felt from the crowd. I don’t plan to come back again. There are more places to check out in dtla than to drive all the way out to Hollywood.

Wonderfully fun vibe for a group night out and amazing food and service to boot. The staff were nice enough to comp a special corkage fee and so we send a couple glasses to the chef and sous chef. The kitchen picked out our shared group meal and capped it with a delicious ice cream dessert. Throughout the evening the place got busier and busier with a very hip Hollywood crowd(for a Sunday). We ended the night up on the rooftop with great city views and well-made cocktails.

This is a little diamond hidden in the heart of WeHo! The views are extraordinary and the set up is exactly what each roof top bar should be. They have space for standing and sitting while you grab a delicious cocktail. Bonus the music is good any night of the week. Still this isn’t the reason I’m writing this review, it’s because the service and food isn’t getting any attention, which I feel is super underrated. Each time we’ve gone to the roof top the servers are friendly, helpful with the bar menu and very quick getting your order to the table. The speciality drinks are always on point and with a proper serving of alcohol. The bites are fun and yummy when you start feeling hungry, but nothing to really brag about. The downstairs restaurant, however, has delicious dishes. With asian inspiration. they cover the pallet. Their spicy duck salad is definitely spicy with amazing hints of vinegar to cool it down. The whole chicken is fantastic, a perfect sear on the skin, juicy breast with a wonderful hoisen dipping sauce. I would have ordered another if I had space. I was genuinely impressed with all the flavors, especially since the roof top menu is a bit safer. Don’t forget to order dessert… they have a chocolate ginger cookie thing that’s out of this world. PS. I spent Halloween and New Year’s Eve at EPLP and was very entertained. The music was great and signature drinks on point. Bartenders, servers and management are always beyond my expectations. I’m hoping more patrons give this place a solid try. Highly recommend this place… I will continue to visit for all the special events. You rock EPLP!

Honestly why are you even reading this review?! Why are you even thinking of coming here? I can’t believe that you want to come here. Can you believe that you are planing to come here? I feel like most reviews say it all. I had to go here because I was invited by some friends of mine, but seriously why would even go here. You know how many amazing bars and lounges are near this area? Rude bouncers — check: The guy at the door told me we are packed and only do reservations you cannot go in. I told him my friends are waiting for me upstairs, and he looked at me and said«I see, well I suppose you can go. I might be able to do something about it this time.» It appeared to me like he was doing me a favor. I went upstairs, and the place not only wasn’t packed, it was actually half empty. It stayed like that throughout the night. Rude bartenders and horrible drinks — check: Everyone here looks at you! They really check you out. I am one of those people who doesn’t appreciate when people stare at me. Especially, when you know they are sort of judging(either in a good way or bad way). Sorry if I am not wearing Tom Ford. But if you are a type of person that enjoys being checked out constantly by people, you might like this place. Drinks and foods are ridiculously expensive, and the quality is utter disappointment. Dear EP&LP: Sorry, your rooftop cannot make up for your subpar service and food. Best, Ashkan

Came with a group of 6 for dinner. The food was fair to good, the best dishes were the steamed fish & crispy chicken. Veggie curry with roasted cauliflower had an impressive presentation, but lacked in the flavor profile, it was on the oniony side and it wasn’t as rich as I thought it could be. Fried rice had good flavor but was overly salty. Green papaya salad was pretty good. We had excellent service, our server Adam C was very personable & positive, and the sommelier was elegant. There was no doorman or «Hollywood» vibe at all as described in some of the other reviews. It was a chill Sunday night so not sure if that made a difference. After dinner we went upstairs to see the rooftop bar. Beautiful views and nicely designed. I probably wouldn’t come back for dinner as the food wasn’t overly yummy, but will likely come back for drinks another time.

Not sure why this place barely has 2.5 stars and 3 dollar signs. I came tonight and the rooftop«EP» was extremely chill and beautiful. The view was nice while it was a little light out, but still serene when night arrived. My three favorite things — the chairs(so comfortable), the blankets they over to keep warm in addition to plenty of heaters(blankets so soft and fuzzy), and the hanging lights(I love those!). Note I didn’t eat or drink here, but in regards to vibes and looks, i dig it. I heard it’s hard to get into though, which may be why the stars are so low ’cause people be mad. Luckily, tonight was chill. Come at an odd time and you’ll be just fine.

DONOTCOMEHEREFORNEWYEARS. This rating is for their pre-set New Year’s dinner. It was my first time coming here. Talk about a bad first impression. Let’s start with the rip-off price: $ 100 for a mediocre dinner and champagne toast. Drinks, tax, and tip not included so the average price we paid was $ 180 per person! The food selection was encouraged to be ordered ‘family style’ to share. Which is normally a great way to go except when you are a tapas restaurant! The portions to ‘share’ were clearly designed and sized for one person, two people max. They made 3 – 4 people share 1 tapas. I barely got a bite of some of the tapas. The drinks were crazy expensive. Like Vegas expensive. Not worth it. The food was okay. It was good but not worth the price. Their signature dish that our friend was raving about was the coconut curry and it wasn’t that great. I’ve had way better for way cheaper. I would never come here again for new years. Don’t event want to go back for a regular dinner.

Let me start off by saying the food is absolutely disgusting here. I would never ever go back to eat. The drinks aren’t too bad, but much better places in LA to grab drinks. Everyone their is so rude, has a disgusting attitude, and so unwelcoming. The security and people at the door are what I hate most. You get there and they make it seem like it’s such a big deal to get into this place making it all strict and everything and you walk in and the place is half empty. For what reason are you guys not letting people in? Are you over packed upstairs? I don’t understand. It always seems like the people in front are judging you to see if you are someone who even belongs here. And surprisingly enough, I’m not the first one who thinks this. I’ve talked to a few others who seem to agree. On top of that, my drinks always come out tasting absolutely horrible. I’ve given this place a chance one too many times. Don’t waste your time here. So many other bars around the area you’ll have a better time and worth spending your money at.

Let’s be honest, you are coming to this place for one reason and one reason only: the rooftop view. Beyond that, you could do much better. Your experience begins(it did for me, and I assume this is the case on most nights) with an unfriendly greeting from the doorman. You’ll get grilled with the 3rd degree: why are you here? Who are you here to see? Do you have reservations? Why are you wearing that? How long are you staying? Etc. Judgment Central. In short — super Hollywood. All this unnecessary flack is just to make this place seem more important than it is. I didn’t have to pay a cover(came around 8pm), so I walked past the cashier and took the elevator to the roof. Once you get to the top, you’ll walk out into the middle of a large rooftop patio. There’s a bar and a fair amount of seating to the left, and once you pass the corridor to the right, there’s another private lounge with a smaller bar. The lights stretching across overhead gives a nice ambiance, but you can’t help but feel a little on edge with all of the bouncers keeping eagle eyes on everyone, making sure things go their way, exactly. Defeats the purpose of coming here to unwind and relax. Drinks are pricey as you’d expect. I ordered 2 glasses of basic white wine, and 1 old fashioned with rye and it ran me $ 46. The bartenders are on top of their game, but not overly friendly. You’ll have to be proactive to get a drink as the bar gets pretty crowded. So yeah, I get it, they don’t want to be over capacity, but there are plenty of other nice views in LA. I can’t justify putting up with this place’s routine or steep prices just for a view I can’t even truly enjoy because I’m put on edge before I even walk through the door.

I arrived to the front door only to be greeted by two staff members(I presume the bouncer and the owner/manager) who weren’t very welcoming. It seemed as if me and my party of 3 were being judged as if we didn’t belong in the establishment. After saying we were just headed to the bar they asked if we had anyone else joining us and then said«okay just make sure you don’t invite anyone else.» Once we got to the rooftop the bar it was overly crowded, not to mention overpriced. We wanted to try the boba vodka and we were not impressed with the cocktail outcome. Not only was the tapioca balls really hard but the cup was packed with a lot of ice(and huge blocks too) We asked the host if we could be seated and once we got seated another server asked if we could leave since we did not order anything from her(regardless we ordered drinks and food from the bar). I would not want to come back because of the unwelcoming experience and rude employees.

I both love and hate this place, so I’ll give it 3 stars. Love: The view from the large rooftop deck and the hip vibe. Spiked boba drinks. The convenient location at La Cienega and Melrose. Hate: The food — overpriced and not very good at all(definitely don’t eat here). The douchey door guys and unnecessary line(I’ve been lucky enough not to have to wait in it, but sometimes when I drive by I see a crazy line along the sidewalk). The long wait at the bar for a drink. Being overcharged and having to get the bill corrected. There’s definitely things that I really don’t like about EP&LP, but since there aren’t many comparable spots in the area, I still go there now and then for a drink(especially with out of town friends because of the great view).

Spiked bobas FTW!!! I highly recommend EP&LP for a place to take clients. This is a very chic rooftop bar and it’s your typical spot to go to be seen. Last time I went I saw Nicole Richie. Thought I went because I heard they have an entire menu dedicated to spiked bobas. And they’re strong! There are fire pits and the layout is like a nice Malibu home. The restaurant downstairs is also suppose to be pretty good. There was a line to get in past 10pm but it moves quickly.

EP&LP is a cool place to meet up with your buddies or coworkers in the evenings. This place is packed which explains why they have two separate bars opposite ends of each other. There are a handful of places to sit, but the cushion rattan towards the back can accommodate a larger group, and provide a more comfy space for everyone. The Roof Top Bar is located on the 3rd Floor, while the Restaurant portion is on the 2nd. There is a stair, but the single elevator is available with a long wait! Drinks here are not bad, a bit pricey, and I’d definitely skip dinner and go elsewhere. Until then, Cheers! ~ :p

Food sucks. Service is so bad. I do like their cocktails on the rooftop and the crowd is great. I would recommend trying their boba cocktails it’s delicious.
