JT Car Connection

We recently purchased a Mini Cooper S a few days ago from John at JT Car Connection. At first not knowing what to expect coming to the dealer to check out the Cooper when we arrived we were not only met with great and friendly customer service but a guy that knows about cars and is a genuine and honest dealer. He even let us bring our own mechanic to check out the car and the mechanic said everything that John had told us about the car. Once the mechanic gave us the thumbs up we decided to purchase the vehicle. The process was painless and such a great experience. Most small dealers have a bad rep but JT Car Connection is legit. I will refer business to John and definitely come back in the future for all my car purchases.

I bought a 2008 Smart from John. After negotiating the price for some time he agreed to a good deal. Although I had a tiny issue after a few weeks, he was extremely friendly and helpful. He took the car for 2 days, fixed it and did not want me to pay for it as I had recently bought it from him!

John and Tony provided EXCELLENT service and it was a pleasure working with them. I just moved to LA and bought my first car from them and I couldn’t imagine going anywhere else. They are honest and fair and you can tell they take a lot of pride in their business. I highly recommend working with these guys for service or purchases!!!

Excellent service! By far the smoothest used car buying experience. John is very knowledgeable and knows cars. He’s a car guy (former Volvo mechanic from the Volvo dealer that used to be at this exact location). He has an eye for «cherrypicking nice solid cars.» That’s what you’ll find at JT Car Connection. I bought an old 1997 Dodge Ram 4×4. It is a really sweet truck. Very clean for its age and the fact that it is a 4×4. He suggested that I take it to my mechanic «take it to someone you can trust» he told me. So I did, and my mechanic confirmed that it is a nice solid truck, other than an impending break job. It’s is an old truck so I expected to see wear and tear. I took that to the negotiation table and John was more than willing to make a deal. We agreed on the price and I was able to pick it up next day. He had it smog tested it at no cost to me the next morning. Passed smog no problem. It was nice and clean when I arrived to pick it up. John topped off all the fluids and detailed the truck.

It has taken me 8 months to write this review, and it is a review that should have been written within a week of getting the car. I was new to Los Angeles, and needed a car in a hurry… Big mistake, in fact everything I did with JT car connection was a mistake. They say you live and learn, in my case it was $ 4.500 (plus taking the car to other garages) mistake. Being new to LA I didn’t know about the lemon-​law at the time, I had stupidly signed a ‘no guarantee’ form, thinking then that I had no rights. Indeed, I paid up, John said he was ‘getting the car ready’, when I came back, my mother noticed the rear lights weren’t working-​my mother suspected an electrical fault… John, got very angry, we were intimidated by the situation-​not knowing who this person we had just handed over the cash to, and we agreed to him ‘fixing’ the car– the next day he delivered it-​shiny and new looking… I was taking my driving test that week– the horn on the car didn’t work. I had to pay $ 260 to another garage to somehow get it fixed as soon as possible, From this time onward, John blamed the other garage for everything that went wrong with it. Within a week, the car started to cutting out. At this point I was entirely on my own in LA with a very very dangerous car. The car would cut out on the freeway-​randomly-​when it was going at speed. I phoned john, and he wanted nothing to do with it. I took it to various garages, and unless the car cut out when they were driving it, they couldn’t pin point what it was. I feared for my life-​literally, every time I took the car out. The brakes also began to seize. I had to get rid of it.
The Ironic thing is John asked be to write a review on Unilocal, well this is it John– I am lucky to still be alive after spending $ 4.500 on a totally unsafe and dangerous car. I should never have stepped foot into JT Car Connections. That $ 4’500 was money that I earned, and meant a lot to me– I would have been better off throwing it down the drain than giving it to J T Car Connection. He will probably get his friends to write a few good reviews to counter act mine, but everything I have written is true– and if the truth be known, I haven’t described just how bad that car really was, how bad a ‘service’ John provided, and how we really felt as though we had no rights and were quite intimidated by his attitude. IF YOU ARE FEMALE, NEW TO LOS ANGELES, BE VERY CAREFUL WHO YOU BUY YOUR CAR FROM!

Just bought a car from John last night. It was a wonderful experience. John was extremely helpful and accommodating throughout the entire process. He knows his stuff and was incredibly genuine in his responses to all my questions. I highly recommend visiting JT Car Connection before going to a standard dealership.

Well, here it is 5 years later, and due to circumstances beyond my control, I found myself pinched between a rock and a hard place, again needing running wheels. Cash flow was tight, so a low mileage, well kept vehicle was in order. John, Tony and Greg have been there for me with other wheeled deals, and once again didn’t disappoint me! An older (’98) Volvo with only 85k miles, but near showroom condition, finalized my concerns and kept me on tract for other goals in the near future. Safe, reliable and paid for! What’s your goal/​need/​desire? I ‘ll bet they can help you achieve it, whatever it is!

I bought my first car with JT Car Connection and I could not have asked for a better experience. John, Tony, and Greg were all very helpful. As a first time buyer I had a lot of questions, and they let me test drive different cars on the lots, telling me the pros and cons of each one. There was no pressure to buy, and when I did decide on a car the process was very straight forward and I walked out with the perfect for me at a great price. Even after the sale they have helped me do small repairs and answer any questions I have had — I highly, highly recommend these guys!

I’ve been meaning to write this post for months now, maybe I put it off waiting for the other shoe to drop… but it never did. Purchased a mint Volvo from JT for a very fair price… and it’s like I got a new car. John cherry-​picks cars at auction, and evidently he knows what to look for. Every item in my car works to the detail. front and back fog lamps. side flashers… OEM roof rack. and the interior is without flaw.
All that’s left was the driving… and I’ve been daily since November… like it’s a new car. Flawless. And for piece of mind… John worked on Volvos for many years. I don’t have to think about where to take it if anything comes up, brakes to tranny… I just bring it to him he’s «got a guy.» The secure feeling that you’re not being ripped off, and that he backs up his cars… it just can’t be beat.

John and Greg are extremely helpful and very honest people that have been in the business of dealing cars for 20yrs. John was a mechanic I think and that helps tremendously as well as he has insight on cars like non other. They guarantee great reliable cars.

My first time ever buying a car and I guess It couldn’t have been better,
I spent weeks looking for a decent mini cooper in both dealers and private sellers and could not come to any decent car. Then I went to JT car connection and saw the beautiful Mini black on black. Nevertheless that mini is still for sale for my eyes caught the attention of a great and impeccable Audi A4 1.8 T 2004 that I have the honor of calling my first ever car.
It is in great condition and John was able to provide an excellent deal for me and my dad. As a full time college student I really appreciate the deal John gave me on my Audi.

This is the first car I have ever bought from a used car dealer, ever, and I was totally happy with my experience.
I often walk by JT and stroll around their lot. No pressure at all ~ just perusing.
Over some time I got to know the guys and they shared their passion for cars with me. John worked at the same lot when it was a Volvo dealership before he owned it.
I learnt a lot from them about cars in general and when I was in the market I conveyed what I was after and my budget. Not too long after they showed me a car that had just come in.
It matched my needs and me perfectly. A week later I picked it up and it looked twice as good as when I first saw it as they had it detailed. Nice.

Like any purchase one needs to do their homework and it’s always a good idea to take a look at the Carfax. I did and everything correlated with what they told me. They actually encouraged me to have a mechanical inspection and to take a test drive or two.
JT went out of their way to make sure I was happy even though I wasn’t buying a spendy car. I understand that they have many repeat customers and get the impression they are more concerned with continued relationships than pushing cars onto people.
