Sparkle Clean Maid Service

I gave this company 2 chances.
The woman who fields the calls is super nice. But what good is that when the teams she sends are bogus?
In a few simple words: over priced, unreliable and shady.
Overall the efforts were weak.
Fronts of kitchen cabinets were ignored, dishes had to be re washed, counters were wiped but the crumbs were just pushed to corners or here’s the kicker: on the floor and swept into corners! The floors were NOT properly mopped (if at all).
There was no pride in either team’s work. They weren’t interested in any steady gig, pleasing the customer for future business. It was in and out, gimme my cash.
Both teams gave me the opportunity to do a walk through.
BUT frankly, I don’t want to double check their work– they are the pro’s, that is why I hired them. I did not have ANY expectations beyond basic cleaning.
Both appointments required rescheduling on the company’s end. The first time request for a time change was at the last minute– annoying. The 2^nd time, the team didn’t even show up!
I had to call and call and call to find out what the deal was. I was to host a dinner party that night and needed the once over. NO SHOW! So they helped clean the next day, which I regret even OK’ing.
Don’t fall for the cuteness of their website.

This company cleaned our condo approximately 10 times. Initially they sent an excellent crew. We were assured this would be our regular crew. After a couple weeks our initial team was changed without explanation. After this our service became erratic. On various occasions they cancelled our regular appointment without explanation, sent half a crew but didn’t put in any extra time, showed up very late and left early. Basically, their service kept deteriorating but their price did not. No matter how many people they sent or how little they worked, they wanted to be paid according to our original agreement.
We let things go for awhile since they had been so good at the start, but once we started trying to address the problems things went from bad to worse. They seemed unable to comprehend why we would not want to pay the price for two cleaners when they only sent one to work the same amount of time. The crew kept changing and they showed up hours late so we had to wait around all day to let them in (since crews changed so often we never got comfortable enough to give them a key). Finally, we told them we would no longer use them. .. and several weeks later they tried to sneak a charge onto our credit card. When we noticed and asked them to reverse the charge they never responded. After waiting for a week and emailing several times we were forced to report the fraudulent charge on our card.
I’m not sure what is wrong with this company. They seemed good at the start. Now I can only recommend that you avoid getting involved with them.

well, I guess I also should have read the reviews before booking with sparkle clean. I too called, and left my credit card info, to hold an appointment for a cleaning of an apartment I was moving out of. It sounded great because I had a coupon, and they were familiar with my complex, telling me they clean condos there on a weekly basis. I had lost my job, and literally saved up for weeks to afford this service in addition to all of the other moving expenses I had. I moved from west hollywood to temecula (riverside county) and scheduled a cleaning the morning after I moved to allow the new tenant to have a nice clean apartment. I booked the cleaning a month in advance, the same day as a carpet cleaning with a different company. I thought it strange that I received a confirmation from the carpet cleaner the night before, and not from sparkle clean. My mother and I woke up at 4am the morning of the cleaning and drove 3 hours in traffic from temecula to LA to make it back to my apartment in time for my cleaning apt. My appointment was at 9am. By 9:15, when no one showed, or called, I called the number on the flyer, and got the answering machine, and left a message. I am forgiving of 10 to 15 mins late because of LA traffic, but I hadn’t received a call or anything. At 9:30 I called and left another message since again no one answered. Finally at 9:45 I left a 3^rd message and then I emailed the company from my phone telling them I did not need their services since I never received a confirmation, and clearly no one was coming, or answering the phone. My mother who is in her 60’s and I then had to scour and clean the apartment ourselves which wouldn’t be a big deal except all we had was 2 paper towels and a small bleach bottle, and we were dressed in non cleaning type clothing, since we had planned on going to breakfast that morning.
Four hours later I get an email response from the receptionist? or front desk/​customer service person saying she had no record of my appointment and asked me who booked it for me? well, SHE booked it actually, over the phone, and when I confronted her about it via email, reminding her of the conversation we had, she claimed they had gotten a new computer system and it must have erased my appointment, but strangely mine was the only one erased. Right, well, I worked customer service and I have transitioned from old to new computer systems many times, in spas and salons, and it is kind of unbelievable to me that mine could have been the only one suddenly mysteriously lost…
It does make me nervous that my cc number was on hold with them, I guess I should check my bank statements often. I was told when I asked about my cc information that since my whole appointment was deleted so was my information. we will see. The lesson I have learned is to read Unilocal reviews first. if I could give zero stars I would have

If I could, I would rate this company negative stars. Unilocal is for real people writing REAL reviews. If you can’t take the several negative comments from different people, then I suggest you remove your company from Unilocal for people to review it!
To begin with, you should really change your follow up comments to all your customers who give you negative feedback. You have written the same story about the «flood» to all of us. I was never contacted that day, the day after or the day after that. The problem is that you took my credit card number and suddenly disappeared. I would never bother to Unilocal about it if I was actually contacted. I even called the owner on his cell phone and he never answered or called me back to this day. After I posted my review I recieved several emails from people with similar experiences. If you take my credit card number and never show up and never call me back… FLOOD OR NOT… I am going to report you and post a review on Unilocal.It’s that simple.
Of course it makes sense that I would post my review of your incompetence and unprofessional behavior. I know nothing about a «deeply discounted» rate for your services. I was told the amount and agreed to it. Again more lies from you and your company. Enough with the story about the flood, all I asked for was a return call even if it was the next day or week. Please stop sending me harassing emails. I get it, you want everyone to know about the «flood».

I logged on to write a positive review of this company… although they only have cleaned my place twice, I was extremely pleased with both the job they did and the personnel. Honestly, they were one of the first companies that I’ve experienced that have English speaking employees. So, I was surprised to the negative reviews… although I’m a bit confused that all three cancelled their credit cards? Mine wasn’t charged until a week later… I have already recommended this company to many friends and neighbors and will continue to do so, until I have a problem — and if I do, you can bet I’ll write another review! I love this site:)

This company required my credit card number when I booked the appointment and never showed up. I even confirmed the appointment the day before. I tried calling both of the numbers they gave me, left messages and texted the owners cell phone with no response. We reported them to the Service Magic Company that referred them and are canceling our credit cards.

We booked Sparkle Clean (with our credit card) to clean our home. They never showed up or answered any calls when we called to find out why. We had to cancel our credit cards. Wish that we had looked at Unilocal before booking…
Update: I got a bizarre message from the «owner» telling me that I shouldn’t have left a negative review after they contacted me to tell me why they didn’t show up. The funny thing is, they NEVER let me know they weren’t coming. They never called to apologize. The Unilocal message was the first time I had heard from them since the day they were supposed to come.
Also, you’ll notice that the review from Roger D. only had two reviews and was clearly created to publish a positive review for the service. Shame, Shame.
Second Update (10÷5÷10) — These people are amazing. The unprofessional & inappropriate agent of Sparkle Clean replied to my review by posting my wife’s name in her reply. I am calling the Better Business Bureau now. We are well over a month after the incident, and we have still not gotten a call. We are getting these spineless Unilocal comments that are completely false.
Also, the fake profile (Roger D.) that was created to give Sparkle Clean a good review was NOT removed by Unilocal
