This place I have«TRIED» to work with numerous times… there is no end to the grief…(either the office in Setauket or the West Islip one) I have had my mom and two of my kids use the doctors here for 2 plus years. I have never seen a place so ineffectively run from doctors to staff. The doctors are nice but they can’t solve problems… then they re-issue same meds over and over again. I would have to say I have had to re-call in prescriptions 20 times as my plan does not cover the meds they prescribe… a few mistakes?.. sure…EVERY time… it is simply amazing… …the staff will tell you«we never got it»…or some other made up line. I once had a lady from CVS on one phone telling me she received a fax for a drug from the West Islip office and as usual it wasn’t covered… as I am talking to her I call up the office on my cell(now have 2 phones on both ears and both parties can hear each other)…and the lady from A.D. states over and over.“we did not send any drug prescription over”…I tell her… listen I have CVS on the other phone line who can hear you… and the CVS lady gives her the whole fax # which was received… and STILL there was denials form A. P. until she looked into my daughters chart and saw it was requested…(This has happened FIVE times alone). My poor mom has been there often for a skin rash. she was assigned the same drug THREE times while telling her it was all new prescriptions. even HER pharmacy… Target was amazed about how poorly run the office is… My 2 cents?.. stay far far away…

My first ever visit with a dermatologist for my acne and Dr Levine spent about one minute total with me. Came in, looked at me for seconds, asked me no questions and immediately wrote prescription for acne medicine. Are you kidding me? At least pretend you are interested in your patients. BTW, medicine is not working after a month, follow up will be with another dr.

Is there a button for 0 stars!?! Dr. Joshua Fox treated me only once with a laser treatment for tattoo removal. I was absolutely shocked at his bedside manner. The exam was conducted prior to the treatment, and the assistant asked me to remove my clothes and don only a paper gown and underwear. He rushed into the room speaking to the assistant, asked me two questions and then ripped the paper gown in half from my chin to my navel in an abrupt manner. Pointing out supposed problem areas to his assistant, he then started asking me what«work» I wanted, suggested numerous treatments, to which I firmly replied that I was only there for a simple tattoo laser treatment and was happy with my body just as it was. He said with reference to a minor scar, «We will see how you feel about that in a few years.» And exchanged a glance with the intern/assistant. He was rude, arrogant, insulting and insensitive. I will never see him again. I feel so sorry for each and every one of his patients, not to mention his staff. What a creeper.

I have decided to go back to this location. Probably one of my worst decisions, I had the acne surgery. One of assistances did it and she would drag the tool across my chin peeling off the skin. I went home to see my chin bleeding, the next day I woke up to see cuts that could leave possible scares on my face. I spoke to Donna about my problem and even tho she seemed bothered by what happened I doubt it will get addressed. You would think you leave looking better then you came we’ll it was the total opposite. I would deffinatley not recommend this place to anyone. In need of a hole new staff. Oh yeah on top of that I had to wait a half hour. Worst experience

Why I decided to come back to advanced dermatology I have no idea. I waited 2 hours to see dr. Barazani and he could only give me 5 minutes of his time, if that. I went to get a benzoyl peroxide face wash and a spot treatment cream for acne and also to get 2 bumps on my face looked at. He told me to make another appointment to have them removed. He said he would give me a face wash and some spot treatment cream and he walked out. I figured he was coming back to give me a prescription but he never came back. The medical assistant came back and told me that the wash and the cream were each $ 13. Now $ 13 isn’t a lot but I have insurance that will cover almost any prescription that I’m given. When i asked the assistant for a prescription wash she told me that they don’t have prescription benzoyl peroxide because it is sold over the counter. I’ve had bad acne since I was 15 so I know that there is prescription benzoyl peroxide face washes but just to make sure I asked the pharmacist and she told me that there is definitely a prescription for benzoyl peroxide wash. Needless to say, I will not go back to this dermatologist or the office at all. The doctor rushed through the appointment that I waited 2 hours for and wasted my time. Now I remember why I found a new dermatologist in the first place.
