Only stayed here for a night in November. Place is clean and comfy. All staff was very nice and professional. We did not have a fridge in our room, not to say that others may have been equipped with one. One of the largest breakfast selections I’ve seen in a hotel. Can be difficult to find. Plenty of towels and amenities. Free WIFI!

Stayed last night 11÷3÷15 room 306. Woke up with little red blotches and red stains all over the bed. Yup, bed bugs! Went to manager and he followed me back to the room to confirm. Bagged all my stuff up in trash bags and left. I will not be back to this hotel! Weather it’s an isolated incident or not… I’m done with this place.

Hubby and I stayed here 07÷15÷15−07÷18÷15. It is a little hard to find the entrance, but once found, no problem. It is in the mountains after all and you can’t just drive a straight line to anything. :-) The hotel looks very majestic sitting up on the side if the mountain, and the view from inside is fantastic. The front desk lady changed our room for a front facing and gave us a free upgrade which was very nice. The room was clean and well appointed. They must have done an update since 2013 as I found everything new and well kept. We had a King with a couch. The bed was really comfortable which is the most important thing to me. And also rarely happens. Most hotel beds are a torture rack. Not this one. At least as good as the Marriott mattresses and we woke up feeling refreshed every morning. There were also 2 King firm pillows and 2 King soft pillows. Firm & Soft were embroidered onto the edge of the cases-nice touch. The fridge in our room got really cold and we had no problems with it. There was a night light in the bath and also a very nice hair dryer. Closet had an iron & ironing board and there was the usual coffee maker, ice bucket, etc. The bath was a large walk in shower and the shower head was adjustable. Plenty of towels and the cleaning staff were also friendly and helpful. I didn’t eat the breakfast so I cannot comment on it. The entire building is smoke free, but beware, smokers are at every exit. That is really the only thing I had issue with as I have asthma and COPD and had to run the gauntlet to enter or exit the hotel. West Jefferson is a nice little town with lots to do. They have free concerts in the summer and shopping is terrific. Main St is full of boutique and odd type stores which you can’t find at a mall. The people are really nice. Don’t miss a trip to the Ashe County Cheese Factory & Store and Scarlet Creek Giftshop. There is also a Walmart, Lowes, and the Ingles Grocery was out of this world! LOL

We had stayed at this location(it was the Hampton then) on our last visit to Jefferson, maybe a couple years ago at most, and really liked it. For the most part it is still really nice. The rooms are spacious and furniture still in good shape and it doesn’t look or feel dingy like some can feel as they get older. They have complimentary hot breakfast and free wifi. They were accomodating enough to put a fridge in our room, which was a necessity, since I was breast feeding my infant and needed a place to store my reserves, at no extra charge. I was disappointed at a couple things that caused the 4 star review. For the amount spent(almosy 250 for two nights) our shower stall had really bad(very noticeable at first glance) mold going on. The floor mat/towel in the bathroom had red stains on it. There was also not an even set of towels for my husband and I. All little things. Overall I would still recommend it. May have just been a bad luck trip for us. Last time we were very pleased with no complaints.

This place was a Hampton, not any more. Not sure why, looks and feels like a Hampton. Our stay was OK, used whirlpool tub and room and furnishings were OK. Expensive for this area, probably the most expensive — but best of almost a chain hotel. Front staff OK, breakfast below par for a(ex) Hampton, but edible. Bottom line: OK, but quite expensive for the area. Entrance is hard to spot and I think a little risky given that it’s blind off the most busy highway in West Jefferson. More stars based on amentities, but minus stars for cost.

Clean, comfortable room with king size bed. We requested a room with a hot tub, and it came with a handicap bathroom(nice and big) and a refrigerator. View from the front of the hotel was very nice! Front desk and breakfast staff were also very nice! We were a little bit surprised that our room wasn’t cleaned after our first of two nights there. We had to ask at the front desk for more towels and bathroom supplies, which they were generous with. Also, the public hot tub could’ve been a little hotter, though that’s probably a personal preference. Overall, a good experience, with very reasonable mid-week rates(we used AAA too).
