I am here to be fair, so first, I will say this is one of the most amazing quilt shops I have been in. BUT, they are the definition of terrible customer service. Here is the quick story, my mother has spent around 5k+ in this store, she ordered a quilt, special order, directly from the manager. The manager told my mom that she would have her quilt and matching shams in 8 – 10 weeks and to let her know if she was not happy for any reason. She spent $ 600 on shams and a quilt… my mom went back ten weeks later because she had not received a call, they told her it would be their in a couple days. She got a call two days later saying that the manager had forgotten to order her quilt, and that she would need to wait an additional 8 – 10 weeks. =/ My mom asked to use the money she spent towards a quilt in stock instead of waiting, this was the day after her birthday… and 11 weeks after she had paid and ‘ordered’ …they informed her for the first time that special orders were final and she would have her items by the end of April!(her payment and order were processed on January 11, 2011) You would think they would give her a small refund, NO, or give her a discount on a future order, NO, or rush her order since the MANAGERFORGOT to order it, NOPE, they still wont even let her exchange for an item in stock!!! I am disgusted with these people. What selfish, arrogant manager would not try to help such a loyal customer. We will never shop here again. As long as you buy in cash and plan to never return, you are just fine. Otherwise, their are lots of other village shops who will treat you better.

There’s something so comforting about a quilt. Patchwork meticulously selected and stitched together to make something great, something comfortable, something meaningful. Ya, I’ve seen some pretty horrendous quilts in my day. Making a quilt out of your old pairs of jeans may seem like a great idea, but it’s so hard to pull off. And there’s quilts that look like someone chewed up their stuffed animal and threw it up, then tied it and gave it to you for your birthday. N’thanks. Luckily, none of those horrendous quilts live at the Village Quilt Shop. It’s where good quilts go to show off what they’ve got. They’re not all my cup of tea, but I can recognize the quality and craftsmanship in every one and can appreciate what kind of home each might go to. The main attraction here is the quilts, but that’s not the only home décor you’ll find. Why sell just quilts when you can sell the matching dust ruffles, shams, and put together some great looking bedrooms to showcase the goods? The whole place is precious times ten and I really like cruising around here to get inspired about how to do up a room with new school design and old school ideas. This is one of many shops at Gardner Village, so the same rules apply. Big parking lot, then dismount and wander among the old shops. You’re not buying«bed in a box» sets here that were assembled in China, so expect to pay for the quality you’re getting.
