The Chocolate

The selections all look very tasty and mouth watering and are staring right at you as you walk in the door. We tried getting as many treats in one go to taste them all, but that’s a bit unrealistic. While the aesthetic all looks great, we found the taste to be lacking a bit. Nothing was bad, but it wasn’t anything we would really come back for. The brownies were by far the best thing we gathered from here and would totally come back just for that, but all of the other treats were missing flavor.

Love everything here are made from scratch. So far, my usual enjoyments are regular hot chocolate and gluten free brownie.
Sit back and relax while admiring the decorations and your delicious drink. You can enjoy it all till 10pm which it is rare thing in West Jordan.

So this was a chic little dessert café. It is actually in an old house which makes it kind of neat. They have the different rooms in the house set up to where they have tables and couches and different places to sit down and eat. It’s a fun place for a date night.
As far as the food goes.
When you walk in they have a case with delicious fresh desserts that all look very tempting. They also have delicious cakes out that you can order by the slice. We looked over our options and decided to go with their Cazookie or whatever they call it where they have a fresh baked cookie with vanilla ice cream on top. It was warm and gooey and delicious.
We also had their spiced hot chocolate. There was a little to much spice in it for me. I would go with the plain next time.
We had a great time and the staff was very friendly. We will definitely be attending again.

Been in this area just a few weeks and have already been here a few times… Excellent desserts and even better customer service… The place looks like an old house converted to the bakery… Not your typical restaurant setting, but very clean and nice… Everyone of the desserts were extremely soft, smooth and tasty…

The West Jordan location is just as good as its sister location in Orem! I think what might even make it better is the fact that it is way less crowded probably due to its location compared with Orem where it is college student dense.
The cakes, cookies, and cazookie are all amazing! I’m a sucker for sweets and can never settle for just one thing so it’s always going to be a dessert tasting overload when I walk into this adorable little house of a restaurant. The chocolate sets itself apart not only with the delicious baked goods, but the shabby-​sheek interior of the refurbished home they have set up operations in.
The price of their enormous pieces of cake is a steal of a deal. In fact, everything they offer is a steal of a deal once you taste how sweet and delicious it all is. The Chocolate is also great in that it is one bakery/​dessert restaurant that is actually open late which helps when that sweet tooth kicks in around 9:00 at night. When you go, don’t forget to order a big glass of ice cold milk with your baked goods; it makes for a well-​rounded experience!

I had visited the shop in Orem and knew what I wanted so I stopped in with a friend while we were driving through West Jordan recently. The slice of The Husband we got (yellow cake with chocolate frosting) was huge, but it was also a little dry and the frosting was super thick. It was pretty good, but not amazing like I’d hoped. Also, they must have been running the dishwasher or something because inside the shop it was a little humid and the smell of bleach was pretty strong. Not what you want to smell in a bakery.

I had the Chocolate Blackout slice of cake… their definition of dark chocolate ganache is not on par with mine. I felt it wasn’t rich at all; very bland non-​sweetened ganache. And for a small slice to be almost $ 6 I expect the description to be on par. I will say though I had my dessert to​-go​.it seemed an awesome place to share some sweets on a Friday night, quite cozy with a bunch of people just having good conversion, and the employees were very pleasant as well. I would come back to dine-​in to catch up with a friend for the atmosphere.

When you have 4 kids it’s totally ok to slip away and reward yourself for surviving carpool, laundry, homework and dishes! The Chocolate is my reward! Oh! You just potty trained your last kid! Strawberry Shortcake for mom! What? You just helped your daughter type a 10 page paper on Laura Ingalls Wilder? Well Congratulations! This Lemon Curd Cupcake is yours!
This is my favorite «me» place and living a quarter mile away makes it easy to try it all. In addition to the above mentioned favorites my family and I love the turtle cookies, mint brownies, chocolate crinkle cookies, the husband cake and of course the cozookie! Honestly we’ve never had a bad treat.
This is also my go to place to grab treats and gifts for friends, neighbors and local businesses. I take a treat to my family doctors office every Christmas and they look forward to a cake from The Chocolate every year!
The owners are fantastic! We feel like old friends. This us the perfect place to gather with friends and never feel rushed. I’ve hosted meetings and events here. A wonderful neighborhood staple!

I usually go to the one located in Orem, but my friend was in town but was staying closer to the Sandy area. She told me she wanted dessert that she can’t get where she lives back at home. So I found out they have this in West Jordan and it was the perfect choice. My friend was so surprised to find that this place I had talked up was literally in a little cottage. She was a bit skeptical but little did she know what was in store for her. We were greeted by the employees that worked there. They’re always so sweet at both locations! We had ordered the «infamous» CAZOOKIE and boy was her mind blown! The warm, gooey, melty, chocolatey, peanut buttery, (we got the peanut butter and chocolate chip Cazookie) goodness! Which was perfectly paired with an ice cold glass of milk! Cazookie is one of my top favorite desserts! Can’t wait to try the other goodies here!

We were looking for a cupcake place to give as a gift and to my surprise we found a gem away from home. Definitely recommend this place gifts or even a sweet tooth craving. Nice little family owned business

Simply one of the best places I have ever been! Beautiful desserts and atmosphere! But the desserts though! I have fallen in love.

I thought I liked this place, but I was wrong. I LOVE it!
Best german chocolate cake, snickerdoodle cookies, and sugar cookies ever!
The mini cupcakes are just the right size to satisfy your sweet tooth and allows you enough room to get other treats.
The lemon bars are also great with just the right amount of tanginess.
I still haven’t been able to try the cazookie yet, but it is definitely on my mid year resolutions list.

Pretty cool that this place is located in a house so casually. I like that they have sofas and tables, just like in a regular house, that you can go and space out into and order whatever.
Got the cannoli and 2 cloves of cake. It was fairly pricey but I liked it because we had a big group and they were able to accommodate us with no problem,
I wish they had more pies to try though! They’re more of a cake spot anyway

Really love how cozy this place is. It looked small to me at first, because I can only see part of it when I first got in, but then it got bigger and bigger once I walked to the back. It is divided into five different parts I would say. First part is where all the wonders are made – the kitchen; second part is a little show room for the wonders and also it is where you slide your credit cards; third part is a smaller sitting area with a sofa and two tables (or maybe just one, I couldn’t remember); fourth part is a bigger sitting area with a long table in the centre, fifth part is kind of a private room where you can have some private moments with friends and family.
I had trouble deciding what to get because I wanted them all. They all looked so delicious on their little cake stand, as if they were shouting «Eat Me! Eat Me!». I finally decided to order Éclair and The Brooklyn Blackout (chocolate cake) after standing there for like 10 minutes with the girl there asking me «Do you know what you are getting?» three times. They were both amazing. The Brooklyn Blackout is really rich and moist, and my friend loved it since he is a chocoholic. I like the Éclair better. I really love the custard inside, it is not the kind that is so thick that it will make you sick at the end, it is more like a light, runny custard. Try it if you are a custard fan like me:)
My only complain is the location. It’s hard to find. I wish they have a bigger sign or something so that people won’t drive pass it like I do and have no idea they have already missed it. However, I would still like to go back and try all of their desserts since now I know exactly where it is.

The cazookie is amazing! It’s so big so plan to share. I love the atmosphere. So relaxed and cozy. I’ve been here on a date with my husband and also with my girlfriends for book club. It worked perfect for both occasions.

A friend of mine recommend this place for me. I was doing a surprise birthday for my boyfriend although he didn’t want a party. I got a dozen of cupcakes in two flavors for around $ 20. Peanut butter and Oreo/​cookies n crème. The lady was really nice and when I picked then up 2 weeks later I was surprised. The cupcakes were good BUT they were sooo tiny. I expected them to be bigger :(They were mini cupcakes rather than the normal cupcake sizes! The orea and recess cups were cut into ¼ and put on top of the cupcakes. I end up buying red velvet cupcakes at Wal-​Mart. A dozen of the same size for only $ 4 !! They tasted good just like this place. Honestly, I don’t think it was worth my money because I could’ve just bought the cupcakes at Wal-​Mart etc. and added the Oreo/​recess cups myself to make it look creative. The cupcakes were good just like any other stores.

The Chocolate is the dessert parlor of my dreams! I love that it is located in a house, and decorated so beautifully and comfortably. We came in and located ourselves on a couch in the living room, and there were other patrons sitting around the dining room next door having a small meeting.
The desserts were absolutely phenomenal. My daughter and I shared a cazookie, my son had a frosted sugar cookie, and our friend enjoyed a piece of Husband Cake. I considered going back to the counter to order a slice of Brooklyn Cake and a couple of cupcakes, but unless I want to have to book myself a 2^nd seat on the flight back to Dallas, I knew that would not be a good idea. We did try samples of the brownies and the gluten free cupcakes, and both were excellent!
Hot cocoa was also delicious, and free refills on coffee! What could be better?
If you are anywhere near the area, you have got to visit The Chocolate! Truly, it is a wonderful experience!

The cazookie was awesome! This is the perfect spot for a hot cookie with ice cream since there’s no Bj’s. This actually tastes better than bj’s it was higher quality of cookie dough and it was double thickness. This is a great dessert spot especially because it’s like you’re inside of someone’s house.

Salted caramel butter cream a top a mini chocolate cupcake. Delicious. Not overly sweet and is even better when you let it linger on your taste buds.
The cannoli was a bit too sweet, but decent, nonetheless. The cream filling was silky, the cookie was crispy and the crumbled pistachios were crunchy and salty.
Expect a service time lag on weekend evenings.

The chocolate is a really fun dessert restaurant that is in an actual house, so you’ll find tables and couches in random rooms all throughout. It has a really fun cozy atmosphere.
Their Kazookies are super delicious and easily enough for a couple to share. Their other desserts are good, but the kazookie is what it is all about.
