Beau Jardin Apartments

This is an old apartment complex, away from Purdue campus, which can be better maintained. The management doesn’t care about residents at all and there are hidden fees to be aware of if you are not super lucky. I agree more with the two other non-​recommended reviews than with the positive review above.
I have lived here for 2 years. As long as you are lucky to not have maintenance issues, there will only be minor complaints. However, when you start having maintenance issues such as pests (ants, roaches), they will charge you fees without warning you beforehand. Even if there are leaks due to old rusty pipes, they would find a way to charge you. The apartments are really old that leaks/​failing air conditioning are not uncommon. The manager (Elizabeth) absolutely doesn’t care about residents or residents interests. She could care less whether you renew the lease or not.
Courtyard is well maintained in summers but not in winters! They don’t clear snow/​ice and so courtyard is not accessible during winters. In fact, they don’t regularly clear snow/​ice even in the parking lot. The slippery parking lot results in people falling. I have fallen and injured my back once and I had to spend quite a bit of money for physiotherapy.
Don’t fall for 1-​month rent off promotions. They run these promotions often. Make sure you checked other nearby places which are better (e.g. Mayfield, Peppermill).

It is a little expensive apartment complex, but it is worth it. No hidden costs. Service free apartments. And if you do need service, it will be fixed the very day you report it. You have the option of picking courtyard side view and/​or balcony. Courtyard is well maintained and makes up for a nice view.
