It is so sad to say, but this store is not a place to go if you want friendly or remotely welcoming hospitality. I ventured in for the second time after visiting another store a couple of doors down. I had my 17 month old in my arms to avoid any mishaps, although she is very well behaved. However, I’d rather be safe than sorry. After entering the establishment, we were the only customers in there, the two people behind the counter made no attempt to acknowledge us. They, the man and woman, simply looked up and looked back down. I thought maybe they didn’t realize I wanted to purchase something. I approached the counter and asked if they sold brackets. The woman looked as if I asked her to please tell me the her thoughts on neurological disorders. The man at least said,“no and you may want to try lowe’s.” I paused for a moment and looked around, then asked again and explained with a little more detail what exactly I was looking for. Unfortunately, they, the man and women(who remained unresponsive), were no help. I, being raised with manners and civility, said thank you and went on my way. On the way out, I saw a couple of wall shelves, no brackets but an option any sales person with the least bit of interest in helping a potential customer would have pointed out. The store does have lovely items, but I’d rather shop at an establishment that is more welcoming. I hope they do not treat all moms with a toddler this way or Hispanic moms with a toddler. In short, please make sure for future customers you, Provençal Home, come off friendlier and more welcoming not bitter to have to help a customer by answering questions. Not to mention unfriendly towards moms with a toddler in a furniture store, especially Hispanic moms. I truly hope this was not due to my race but to the fact you, the man and woman, are just not very friendly to begin with.

It had been, oh, three months since my client and I together and separately have looked for a media cabinet. There were specific dimensions to work with and we wanted a painted cabinet with some personality to coordinate with a Kilim patterned rug. Not as easy as we envisioned. Enter Provencal Home & Garden. Lovely furniture and accessory shop featuring a few sale items. Oh look. A dining room buffet that could actually pose as a media cabinet. On Sale. Perfect dimensions. But wait. Incorrect color. Not a problem. I’ve got a fantastic faux finisher and artist up my sleeve. The staff was more than accommodating and helpful. Provencal Home offers custom furniture, bedding, pillows and accessories in the style mostly dubbed as Country French. Simple, sturdy, attractive items. The cabinet is immediately purchased and delivered to Lakeway. It awaits the magic of that guy up my sleeve. I’ll return to post a photo.
