This is a great example of a fine upstanding locally run karate studio. Kelan treated me with respect and my son loved working with him! Kelan truly enjoys instructing kids and you can tell he has a lot of fun with them. Kelan addressed my specific needs and made me feel like a person, not just another dollar sign attached to a client whom he needed to sign up and close. I highly recommend this location for children’s martial arts instruction.

I’ve studied martial arts for a few years now and have been really happy with the U.S.S.D studios here in Oregon (West Linn, Beaverton, Sherwood).
The instructors are fun, kind and patient and have never been condescending or intimidating like many other schools tend to be.
I’d definitely reccommend them for kids and new/​aspiring martial artists!

My two children have been attending classes at United Studios of Self Defense for the last six months and they love it! The instructors are knowledgeable, patient and kind. They also offer free martial arts classes to those just wanting see what USSD is all about and from time to time will run free self defense clinics for woman, movie nights for the kids and all sorts of fun events.
