I visited Paul Revere’s for lunch because they had a sidewalk sign boasting a $ 3.69 breakfast sandwich special with your choice of sausage or bacon. I chose bacon… yum! I sat at the counter on a round, spinning stool with a nice view of High Street.(Did I mention this place is located on Paul Revere’s historic ride?) Guess what? It was a perfectly cromulent breakfast sandwich, served on a… wait for it… CERAMICPLATE! The waitress, who had clearly been serving customers nicely and politely for at least 20 years, even brought me a free coffee top-off for my … wait for it… CERAMIC mug. Without asking! Towards the back there are sweet, old-fashioned, wooden booths with plenty of folks in them. I felt like I was in an episode of Happy Days. No dirt to be seen. I think the place is sweet and fun, and I’d totally go back again.

Dirty, Dirty Dirty, that is all I can say and how can there be 3 people in the place on a sunday morning when people love to go out for breakfast. GROSS food

Great breakfast. It’s a big size for Resonable price. I love their chocolate chip pancake. Great service. The only thing I can think about is that their home fries are little undercooked sometimes. Other than that it’s great.

Eggs were awesome hash was dry and bland. Coffee was ok, typical diner coffee. Ambiance was really cool with the tin ceilings and awesome booths. Will definately go back. Just need to order something other than their hash browns with my eggs or omlet

I am simply amazed that this place still exists; I lived down the street from the Paul Revere when I lived in Medford in 1985, and it looks as though it hasn’t changed. I wonder if they still have that singular bottle of Tabasco… It was decent for breakfast with very friendly people.

Cheap and good food. Never had a bad meal here. The only reason it’s not 5 stars for me is because the interior is old and run down. Needs a makeover. Otherwise a good breakfast spot!

Absolutely amazing breakfast food. The place may not look like much on the inside décor-wise but the food is that delicious home cooking you crave. The eggs Benedict is what I come here for and the Irish eggs Benedict is the best eggs Benedict you’ll ever have.

Have gone to this place since I was 10 years old and have loved it since, I go there with my friends pretty often.

My wife and I go there pretty frequently, it’s not the BEST breakfast around(ie. Rox Diner), but it certainly leaves your appetite satisfied as well as your wallet. The waitstaff is friendly and the food is okay. All in all a nice place to have a reasonable breakfast/lunch for a decent price.

I ordered two muffins I didn’t want. Why? In a world where uppity brunches teeter on twenty bucks a head, I felt like I needed to after sitting down to a turkey sausage, egg and chee on English for $ 2. Yes, two dollars. Imagine my anachronistic disdain when the addition of a strawberry banana muffin and a corn muffin, both moist, sticky and giving good toast, brought the grand total to… $ 4.38, tax included. Be polite and you might get a smile. Might. If not, you’ll have enough scratch to return four times a day for lass than $ 20. Stay frozen in time, Paul Revere. New tagline: Two if buy breakfast…? I like it.

I’m not changing my stars for this but I have pretty much decided to not go there anymore. We’d go because it’s close and convenient, but we’d always leave feeling yucky. Like the food just went in and had a little riot in our bellies. That’s both of us, not just my dairy-phobic self. So yeah. Sad, because I want to like this place. It has all this character, and I like diners like this, but not when the food leaves us feeling sluggish, unhappy and wondering why we did that.

This is a great cheap little diner in West Medford. We have eaten breakfast here a few times and have always had a good meal. We have gotten the omelets, pancakes, potatoes, etc, and everything tastes good. It’s not a place for a fancy food or ambiance, but if you want a filling and inexpensive breakfast it is the place to go.

Local old school diner with cheap eats. Walked in noticing the usual cast of characters in places like these. People that have been coming here for 30 years and can recite the menu blind. Of course I sat at the counter because I’ve always liked sitting at the counter. Stools a little stiff and wobbly but I do like the bar to rest your feet on. Some napkins strewn on the floor that no one seemed to mind. Me either. Great pictures of the way West Medford used to look when Moses was in short pants. Nice lady took my order. The 2×4 and an iced coffee. A little bit of everything was right up my alley. Ice coffee was nothing more than regular strength coffee with ice which made it very watered down. Not sure they realize that iced coffee has to be made stronger. Food came out fast. Sausages were yummy but too soft for my liking. I prefer them to have somewhat of a crisp on the outside. Next time I will order them well done. Bacon and eggs were bacon and eggs. The best was the french toast. The cinnamon and whatever other flavorings they added were just perfect. I also liked the fact that the french toast didn’t come out flat like most places. They were fluffy and yummy and I didn’t even use syrup on them. OHMY! This place is your basic Mom and Pop hometown spot. Don’t expect gourmet but do expect solid cheap eats. CASHONLY!!!

Great little family run place. They serve breakfast food and it’s never so crowded you have to wait an hour to eat. Food is good, but nothing to write home about. Place definitely has charm and is super cheap. They are CASHONLY. So be mindful of that before you go!

I live close-by so my husband and i will stop by for breakfast when we don’t feel like cooking. it’s one of our favorite place since it’s very homey and all-american. the service is quick and always friendly. i always order the«early morning riser» with french toast. the french toast and regular toast is often riddled with butter so you can ask to have the butter separately or skip it all together. it’s always really good and made to order. i think it can get crowded but there’s seating at the bar area, which is very cute and quaint. overall, this is a great spot that’s not commercialized and overpriced.

My kinda place — friendly service, cheap eats, real home fries, and a key factor for me: refilled my water glass without me having to ask ;-) definitely makes my list of breakfast joints

Me and my boyfriend just came back from the Paul Revere Restaurant. Super cheap. Food was decent. I got a fried egg sandwich with bacon — exactly what it claims to be. They also have chocolate chip pancakes so that was a plus since they weren’t on the menu. My only complaint about the humungous pancake was that they had a slightly chewy outside layer — but this was alleviated by the syrup. My bf got the Early Morning Riser breakfast — 2 eggs, 2 pieces of toast, 2 pancakes and a drink and homefries($ 7.50). Our total bill was about $ 17. Can’t beat that! We’re full and feeling fine so I would recommend this place. Our waitress was friendly too. Not sure if they are cash only though so maybe keep cash on hand.

A little family run breakfast/lunch place. The food is pretty cheap. They make their omelettes a little differently than most places. Basically the egg is rolled thin around the filling such that it’s almost like a burrito. They’re really well stuffed. If you want an omellette that’s mostly egg go somewhere else. Plenty of places skimp on filling but not here. The rest of the food is decent. I’m baffled by the Margeret W. Review. I lived in Medford for a year(and visit friends there still) and used to eat at this place on a semi-regular basis. I’ve never seen a paper plate used there, never seen any messes and never encountered undercooked food. Yes the owner’s son occasionally helps out but its hardly like he’s running the place. How about a little less hyperbole in these reviews? It is fair to say that the place is small. IIRC there’s about 4 booths, 3 tables and maybe a dozen seats at the counter.

This was the I just went to Boston with the guys, drank way to much and woke up at a friend’s house on his couch sitting up fully clothed, place to go get some grub. I keep reading bad reviews of this place, but all I remember was the best cheap eats breakfast on the planet served to you by the owner’s badass 10 year old son. Illegal? Maybe. Awesome? Definitely. The truck driver I recall was the Vitamin G(Grease) answer to Mr. Daniels and Anhauser Busch’s assault on my brain. While I ascribe to the wolf-pack theory of drinking, the only way to make sure your deer herd is properly restocked is to eat eggs and bacon, and sausage, and pancakes and toast, and everything else put in front of you for 7 dollars, or something ridiculous like that.
